Chapter 2: CH 2

"Parallel world?"
Looking at the content written in the black-and-gold diary, Nick Fury frowned slightly.
He had once heard Dr. Otto Octavius mention the theory of parallel worlds, but he never expected to see it in this diary now.
Although he remained vigilant and skeptical about the contents written in this black-and-gold diary, Nick Fury decided to keep reading.
"My name is Su Che, and this is the second month since I traveled to this parallel world."
"I really like sitting on a bench and basking in the sun because I can't remember how long it has been since the last time I could enjoy the sunlight so leisurely."
"Yes, the world I came from was destroyed—completely destroyed!"
"At first, we thought we had won the battle. We defeated Kang the Conqueror. We defeated the Time Variance Authority (TVA).
"We, the Avengers, protected the world once again."
Seeing this, especially the name "Avengers," Nick Fury's pupils shrank instantly.
The Avengers had always been an idea he hadn't implemented yet.
In his vision, he intended to form a team of individuals with superhuman abilities—a force that could safeguard the world.
This idea had come to him after the Kree-Skrull War, once Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) left Earth.
But now, before he even set his plan into motion, he was seeing the name "Avengers" appear in a mysterious diary that materialized out of thin air—one that only he could see!
This made Nick Fury take it even more seriously.
"After that battle, Clint Barton (Hawkeye) told me with a smile that he had found his successor—someone who could take up the mantle as the second-generation Hawkeye of the Avengers."
"Thor also joked that his adopted daughter could join the Avengers and become part of the next generation."
"Loki shrugged and said he was planning to have children with Maria Hill, hoping they wouldn't be as mischievous as he once was."
"Dr. Bruce Banner was discussing with his cousin, Jennifer Walters (She-Hulk), and Scott Lang (Ant-Man) about his son, whom he had brought back from Sakaar—a son who was becoming more rebellious by the day."
"Everything felt so easy. Everything was so peaceful. At the end of the day, they told me and my wife Wanda Maximoff that we should have two more babies too. Maybe we could even name one of them Pietro."
"That way, the second-generation Avengers could stabilize the world, and our generation of Avengers could finally retire."
Sokovia
Looking at the sentence "Me and my wife, Wanda" in the diary, Wanda Maximoff froze for a moment.
"Why does this diary mention my name?"
"Is it just someone with the same name?"
But then she saw the part about naming a baby Pietro.
That wasn't a coincidence.
She and Pietro Maximoff were twins—brother and sister.
Most importantly… she was written as the wife of the diary's owner?
That man named Su Che was her future husband?
What?
She didn't even know this Su Che.
How could she be his wife?
And they were supposed to have children together?
Although she had always dreamed of having a warm home and a happy family, with two adorable children and a loving husband…
But… she was only fourteen years old right now!
With a mix of curiosity and disbelief, Wanda continued reading.
"At that moment, everything felt so peaceful. All the superheroes were enjoying the brief period of calm after the war."
"But in the next second, everything changed."
"Before we could even react, countless versions of Kang the Conqueror emerged across various timelines."
"And along with those conquerors, came endless waves of monstrous creatures… and the Celestials."
"The monsters and the Celestials were unbelievably powerful—so strong that they made us feel utterly hopeless."
"In an instant, the sky cracked open. Mountains crumbled, rivers boiled and evaporated into nothingness."
"As far as the eye could see, there was only devastation. As far as the ear could hear, there was only the sound of despair."
"We failed. Even though we, the Avengers, had saved the world countless times before—this time, we truly failed."
"Clint Barton (Hawkeye) is dead. Thor is dead. Bruce Banner is dead. The Hulk is dead. They're all dead."
"I don't know whether they died unwillingly or if they had already accepted their fate."
"All I know is that at the moment when Earth was shattered into nothing more than cosmic dust, I saw Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow), Steve Rogers (Captain America), Tony Stark (Iron Man)…"
"They were the first generation of Avengers—the ones who either died in battle or retired long ago."
"I only know that as my consciousness faded away in despair, I realized something painful…"
"We had protected Earth so many times."
"But in the end, it didn't matter."
"We lost…"
S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters
At that moment, as Nick Fury finished reading the diary, he felt an overwhelming sense of despair.
The words, though simple, painted a haunting image of doomsday.
The absence of exaggeration made the raw reality even more crushing.
It wasn't just Nick Fury—Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow) and Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch), who were also reading the diary, felt the same.
It was as if they had actually witnessed the apocalyptic scene described in the diary.
