Chapter 21: Why do you want to get stronger
Karna then looked at his system, before he goes to the dungeon break. "For something that says it is not a system you act a lot like system"
Karna then saw the sun mark in his hand glow again, and he swears he can mentally hear what can only be described a comsic scream of frustrating.
[I am not a fucking System!]
Karna just Blinked as he then just decided to run his way to New Delhi, as he arrives there he saw the was some wolf monster, he saw the local hunters fighting as he helped took them down, it took him 2 minutes to clear his area, as then went where the boss, only too hide behind an Ally way, as he saw a gaint wolf burned corps, as he saw it was Aarav who had done, he was now being interviewed by reporter's like always
Karna looked at his hand as he spoke. "I am gonna gess unless I kill the monster my self I won't be getting an Echo".
[Correct. Echoes are only granted when you personally defeat the creature and have sufficient compatibility.]
Karna sighed. So no free handouts, huh? Figures.
He glanced at Aarav, who was effortlessly handling the media, flashing that charismatic smile of his. The man always made things look so easy.
"I swear, this guy probably doesn't even break a sweat when fighting. Meanwhile, I have to grind for every little thing." Karna muttered to himself.
Deciding he had no reason to stay, he turned and left the alleyway, making his way toward the next dungeon break. If he wanted to get stronger, he had no time to waste.
[why do you want to get stronger]
Karna stopped and looked at the Screen. "Because I want to protect my friend's and Family's?"
[There is another reason don't lie to me, I have seen your memory, even that of your past life as the hekr fo Charity]
Karna sighed as he spoke. "Of course you can, let's see maybe too brake fate it self"
[I can help with that]
Karna raised an eyebrow. "You can help me break fate? That's a pretty bold claim."
[The Sun is not bound by fate. It shines regardless of destiny. If you wield my power properly, you too can exist beyond predetermined paths.]
Karna stared at the glowing mark on his hand. Beyond predetermined paths, huh? That was tempting. After all, in his past life, no matter how much good he did, fate always seemed to push him toward tragedy.
"Fine then, let's see what you can do." Karna clenched his fist, feeling the warmth of solar energy coursing through him.
[Then keep moving forward. There are more dungeons waiting, and more power to claim.]
With that, Karna dashed toward his next challenge, determined to carve his own path—one that not even fate itself could control.
The next day happened, Karna was his team, as they looked at the gate.
Ashwatthama looked at Bhima as he spoke. "You really had reserved this gate".
Bhima smirked looking as he spoke. "It is B rank gate with good loot".
Rama then spoke looking at the Gate. "Don't tell me you blew your paycheck on this".
Karna looked at the reserved gate, reserving serten gates was normal with hunter, something it done by guilds Silve Flames Guild, like them, group of hunters that are not part of any guild, company's that sponsored hunter's, how this was done was by the hunter's website and hunter's Tube, which helped a lot, these reserved guild were only up to B rank as anything higher was consider too dangerous by the Hunter's Guld.
Karna looked at Bhima as he spoke. "What Type of Dungeon is this".
Bhima looker as he spoke. "Water Type"
Ashwatthama looked as he spoke. "More specific".
Bhima looker as he spoke. "Water Type Dungeon Model Waves".
Karna rubbed his chin, thinking about the dungeon type. Model Waves dungeons were a subtype of water-element dungeons where waves of enemies attacked in increasing difficulty. They were usually great for training and earning loot, but they could also be unpredictable.
"So, it's a survival-type dungeon," Rama said, stretching his arms. "We just have to endure until the dungeon boss shows up."
"Sounds fun," Ashwatthama said with a grin. "Let's see how long it takes before we get serious."
Bhima clapped his hands. "Alright then, let's not waste time. We've already reserved this gate, so let's head in!"
As the team stepped through the portal, Karna felt a familiar surge of energy wash over him. Inside, they found themselves standing on a vast, flooded battlefield—ruins of an ancient city submerged waist-deep in water. The air was thick with mist, and the distant sound of rushing waves echoed around them.
Then, the dungeon's first wave began.
From beneath the water, dozens of humanoid creatures emerged—blue-skinned, fish-like monsters with webbed claws and razor-sharp teeth. Their glowing yellow eyes locked onto the hunters, and they let out screeching war cries.
"Tch, here we go," Karna muttered, summoning his bow. "Let's see what Phantom Radiance can do."
Karna nocked an arrow and activated [Phantom Radiance], watching as the spectral flames mixed with his [Surya Arrow]. The golden flames shimmered with an ethereal glow, making the arrow seem almost unreal.
"Let's test this out," Karna muttered as he let the arrow fly.
The glowing projectile cut through the air and struck one of the fish-like monsters in the chest. Unlike normal fire, the Phantom Radiance seemed to bypass the creature's physical resistance, causing it to scream in agony before disintegrating.
"Hah, so it works against these things," Karna smirked. "Good to know."
Meanwhile, Bhima roared in excitement, swinging his massive club. With each swing, water exploded outward, sending monsters flying. "Hahaha! This is great! They just keep coming!"
Ashwatthama dashed through the battlefield, Chakra wheel in hand, moving like a shadow. His attacks were swift and brutal, severing heads and limbs with precise strikes.
Rama, on the other hand, fought with elegance. Every movement of his bow was calculated, each arrow piercing vital spots. He was effortlessly keeping up with Karna in long-range combat.
As the first wave ended, the water around them began to rise. The ruins were now chest-deep in water, making movement more difficult.
"Here comes the second wave," Rama warned as the water rippled.
From the depths, new enemies emerged—larger, bulkier versions of the previous monsters, wielding weapons made of coral and bone. Their glowing eyes locked onto the hunters with a new level of intelligence.
Karna grinned. "Alright, let's see how strong these ones are."
He activated [Titan's Resilience], feeling his body harden as a golden aura surrounded him. At the same time, he prepared another [Surya Arrow], this time enhancing it further with [Phantom Radiance] and [Aerial Sovereignty]—even though he had lost the latter's full power, remnants of it still remained in his attacks.
As the second wave charged, Karna and his team prepared to meet them head-on. The real battle was just beginning.
Sita cut the head of the many monster, as he shown stopped as she turned of her, skill as she looked at Rama. "Switch".
Rama thrower's his Bow at her as she throws his sword at him, as then Sita grabbed a she looked at the monster as she fired the first arrows that got split into 5 stabbing into 5 monster, as then she shot another one as it split into 3 this time.
Kama looked at her as he killed another with his Spear this time. "One of your skill".
Site looked at as she fired another arrows. "It is called Air Splitter".
Karna watched the smooth coordination between Rama and Sita with an approving nod. Their ability to switch weapons mid-battle without breaking their rhythm was impressive.
"Air Splitter, huh?" Karna muttered as he dodged an incoming strike, slicing through a monster's torso with a flaming blade of energy formed from his [Phantom Radiance].
Kama twirled his spear, elegantly dodging attacks while countering with precise thrusts. "Not bad. A technique like that makes you unpredictable in a fight," he remarked, watching as Sita effortlessly shot another arrow that split mid-air, piercing multiple enemies at once.
Bhima, however, wasn't interested in finesse. He charged through the waterlogged battlefield, his sheer strength sending waves crashing around him. With a mighty roar, he slammed his club onto the ground, causing a shockwave that sent several monsters flying.
"I prefer direct combat!" Bhima laughed as he crushed another opponent.
Ashwatthama, standing on a submerged pillar, scoffed. "And that's why you waste energy. Efficiency matters too." He blurred forward, his blades slicing through multiple enemies in rapid succession before he landed gracefully on another structure.
Karna smirked at their banter but remained focused. The second wave was dwindling, but something about the dungeon felt... off. The water level was still rising, and the air around them grew heavier.
"Rama, Sita, can you sense that?" Karna asked.
Rama narrowed his eyes and nodded. "Yeah... something big is coming."
The dungeon trembled, and the water started to swirl unnaturally. From the depths, a massive figure began to emerge—larger than anything they had faced so far. A deep growl echoed through the chamber as glowing red eyes locked onto them.
Karna exhaled sharply, gripping his bow tighter. "Looks like the boss has arrived."
As then the monster to cane it is humanoid serpents. They are large in size, about 2-3 times bigger than normal apartment complex, and have shiny blue skin, sharp teeth, glowing red eyes, and light blue back fins. It's scales can range from light blue to turquoise green, with their fins being lighter than the rest of their bodies. It hold a Trident and Bident.
Ashwathama readys his Chakra wheel, as he looked at the boss. "A Naga Beast, I heard them, they are High B rank to Low A rank".
Karna looked at these beast, remembering the past during that of the Dvapara Yuga, they were a lot bigger and even considered sea nightmares, seeing one in a dungeon had him wondering many questions, he had killed a few in his past life but this was still noting to him, he wonder why skills or maybe skill's he will get from killing the monster.
Karna rolled his shoulders, stretching his arms as he analyzed the Naga Beast in front of them. It wasn't as large as the ones from the past, but it still held an imposing presence.
"Alright, no holding back," Karna muttered, summoning [Surya's Arrow] as flames danced along his fingertips, forming a bowstring of pure solar energy.
Ashwatthama twirled his Chakra Wheel, its metallic surface gleaming under the dungeon's eerie blue light. "We should be careful. A High B-rank Naga means it has regenerative abilities. If we don't kill it fast, it'll keep healing itself."
Bhima cracked his knuckles and grinned. "Then we just hit it harder!"
Rama, standing beside Sita, nodded. "I'll weaken its defenses with arrows. Sita, cover me."
Sita already had Air Splitter active, nocking an arrow as she smirked. "I was already planning on it."
The Naga let out a deep, guttural growl before raising its Trident, slamming it into the water. Instantly, the dungeon floor trembled, and massive waves surged forward, threatening to drown them all.
Karna's eyes flashed as he activated [Phantom Radiance], his body momentarily phasing through the incoming water attack. As he reappeared, he fired three consecutive [Surya's Arrows] straight at the Naga's glowing red eyes.
The beast roared in pain, recoiling as flames erupted across its face.
Taking advantage of the opening, Bhima lunged forward, his club glowing with [Titan's Resilience]. With a single devastating swing, he struck the Naga's midsection, sending a powerful shockwave through the air.
Rama and Sita fired their arrows in sync, each shot piercing into the Naga's arms and legs, restricting its movements.
Karna narrowed his eyes, feeling the heat of battle rise within him. "Time to test something new."
His Sun Mark glowed fiercely as he whispered, "Gravity Shift."
Suddenly, the Naga's body lurched downward, as if the weight of the sun itself pressed upon it. The beast thrashed, trying to resist, but its movements slowed considerably.
Ashwatthama seized the opportunity, leaping into the air and hurling his Chakra Wheel straight at the Naga's throat. The spinning weapon cut deep, drawing dark, inky blood as the creature let out a gurgling scream.
Karna pulled back his bowstring once more, pouring an immense amount of Solar Energy into his next attack. His flames twisted and expanded, forming into a spear-like shape.
"This is my hunt," he muttered as he released the attack.
The fiery spear shot forward like a comet, piercing straight through the Naga's skull.
A moment of silence passed before the monster let out a final, pained hiss—its body collapsing into the water with a resounding crash. The Echo was then made in the water, as Karna put his hand in the water and absorb the Naga beast
[Skill Acquired: Solar Impalement]
[Skill Acquired: Aqua Resistance (Passive)]
Karna smirked, looking at his hand as the notifications flashed before his eyes. "Not bad."
