Chapter 4: Chapter 3: Chaos Begins
Inside Professor Sycamore's lab, the group marveled at its grand and intricate design. Shelves lined with books on Pokémon evolution, delicate instruments for research, and lush greenery created a sense of life and discovery. Garchomp was standing near the window giving glances towards them as though she was the lab's guardian.(A/N:This is like a recap)
Professor Sycamore led the group into the main area. "Welcome, everyone. This is where we study the mysteries of Pokémon evolution, and more recently, a phenomenon known as Mega Evolution and these are all the instruments we use."
Ash, Clemont, and Bonnie followed the Professor deeper into the lab, curiosity lighting their faces. Sycamore's assistants, Sophie and Cosette, worked diligently in the background, tending to various Pokémon and monitoring the equipment.
"So that was the main part of your lab right?I know what you showed before were also important but those mega evoution instruments were on whole another level"Ash asked as they were coming out.
"Yes that is the most important place Ash"told Professor Sycamore as he nodded at Ash's words.
Discovering Froakie
Ash, hearing a sudden sound of movement, turned to see Froakie standing boldly in the corridor. He blinked in feigned ignorance. "What's that Pokémon?" he asked.
Professor Sycamore smiled warmly, following Ash's gaze. "Ah, that's Froakie, a Water-type Pokémon. Are you interested?"
Ash nodded slightly. "It looks pretty cool."
The Professor's expression turned serious. "I must warn you, Froakie is not your typical Pokémon. It's been abandoned by multiple Trainers because of its independent and stubborn nature."
Hearing this, Bonnie piped up, her voice filled with recognition. "Wait, is this that Froakie we heard about before?"
Sycamore nodded solemnly, his gaze softening. "Yes. It has an incredibly strong spirit but hasn't found a Trainer it connects with. It left its last Trainer and has been here ever since."
Clemont sad from hearing the words said "That's sad. Why would it leave its Trainers?"
Before Sycamore could respond, the sound of the Poké Ball alert system caught Ash's attention. "Looks like my Poké Ball is ready. I'll be back," he said , turning toward the communication room. And Froakie moving towards the hall with Garchomp on its tail.
-------
While Ash and his friends were busy, Team Rocket approached the entrance, disguised as researchers. Jessie adjusted her lab coat, smirking as she motioned to James and Meowth to follow her.
"Just look at this place!" Jessie said with a confident grin. "If Mega Evolution research is happening here, we're bound to find something valuable for the boss."
James nodded, holding a clipboard for effect. "Not to mention all the rare Pokémon Sycamore's keeping under this roof."
Meowth added with a sly grin, "If we play this smart, we'll walk outta here with both Mega Evolution secrets and a few Pokémon for the boss!"
Jessie knocked on the door,
And Sophie hearing the knock moved from the lab interior to the door while Clemont and Bonnie were talking to professor about what different entail, although most of the questioning was done by Clemont,Bonnie interupted them incase she found any thing she did not know about
Sophei entered the hall and opened the door, looking puzzled. "How may I help you?"
Jessie adopted an air of professionalism. "Good day! We're researchers from the Kalos Pokémon Institute, here to assist Professor Sycamore with his Mega Evolution studies."
Sophie frowned. "That's strange… I dont remember the Professor mentioning about anyone else joining the research team."
Meowth quickly stepped forward with a nervous laugh. "Oh, that's because it's a last-minute arrangement! He didn't have time to notify ya."
Sophie's unease grew, but she nodded reluctantly. "Alright, come in. The Professor is with some guests right now."
Froakie's Suspicion
Team Rocket entered the lab, their eyes gleaming as they scanned the area. The Pokémon in the lab seemed uneasy, including Froakie, who had just entered the hall and was now perching on a high shelf, observing the strangers closely.Garchomp had also entered the hall behind Froakie.
As Sophie turned back to her work, Jessie whispered to her team, "This is almost too easy. We'll distract everyone, then grab what we need."
Meowth's ears twitched as he noticed Froakie's intense gaze. "Uh, guys? I think that Froakie over there is givin' us the stink eye."
Froakie leaped down, landing silently but deliberately between Team Rocket and Sophie. Its stance was alert, its eyes locked on the intruders.
"Fro Froakie fro"Frokie asked.
Sophie glanced at Froakie, surprised. "Froakie? What's wrong?"
Jessie feigned surprise, putting on her most innocent expression. "Oh, what a charming Pokémon! It must be very protective of this place."
But Froakie didn't relax. Instead, it crouched lower, its frubbles forming in its hands as it prepared for a fight.
Meowth chuckled nervously. "Oh ho, looks like Froakie's caught on to us!It is telling that this has not happened before."
Before Sophie could react, Jessie threw off her disguise dramatically, her voice loud and commanding. "Enough of this charade! It's time for Team Rocket to make our move!"
Team Rocket's True Colors
James followed suit, shedding his fake lab coat. "Prepare for trouble!"
"And make it double!" Jessie added, striking a pose.
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all peoples within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Team Rocket, blasting off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now, or prepare to fight!"
"Meowth, that's right!"
Froakie launched its frubbles at Team Rocket, but Jessie easily dodged the attack, smirking as she pulled a metallic collar from her bag. "Oh, please. You're not going to stop us with that!"
Sophie shouted, "What are you doing?!"
Jessie ignored her, throwing the collar directly at Garchomp. It latched onto the Pokémon's neck, and the device activated with a sinister glow.
Garchomp roared in pain, her body convulsing as the collar sent waves of energy through her. Her sharp eyes, once calm and watchful, now burned with unrestrained rage.
Sophie cried out, "Stop this! You're hurting her!"
James held up the device controlling the collar, grinning. "With this, Garchomp is under our control!"
Meowth added with a sneer, "And once we deliver her to the boss, we'll be rolling in promotions!"
James said excited "Now Garchomp follow us let us send you as a gift to boss"
Garchomp resisted the urge and I tiny spark appeared on the collar.James asked seeing Garchomp being able to control itself"Hey meowth are you sure this device is working as he tried to handle the controller" " yae yaa I shoud be"Meowth answer back hesitant. At this time the controller exploded.
Garchomp eyes turned red completly losing control as it looked the contol was making it angry" Hey mowth do something" James said clearly knowing they were in danger.
Before Meowth could respond Garchomp's rage boiled over. She unleashed a powerful Hyper Beam that narrowly missed Froakie but blasted a hole in the lab's wall. The force of the attack sent Team Rocket flying.
"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!" they screamed as they disappeared into the distance.
However, the damage had been done. Garchomp, overwhelmed by the collar's effects, turned her rage on her surroundings. She fired another Hyper Beam, destroying a nearby machine, before charging toward the lab's exit.
At that moment, Ash returned from the Poké Ball storage area, clutching Charizard's Poké Ball in his hand. Seeing the chaos, he sprinted into the main lab, where Sycamore, Bonnie, and Clemont were running out to investigate the commotion.
Sycamore stopped short, his face pale. "Garchomp... She's gone berserk!"
Bonnie gasped. "What happened?! Who did this?"
Clemont adjusted his glasses, his voice trembling. "The damage… This wasn't just an accident."
Sophie ran toward them, pointing toward the broken wall. "It was those intruders—they attacked Garchomp and used some kind of device to control her!"
Ash's fists clenched as he surveyed the destruction. "We have to stop her before anyone gets hurt!"
Clemont nodded, his expression grim. "Garchomp must be terrified and in pain. Let's hurry!"
Without another word, the group rushed outside, following the trail of destruction left by the rampaging Pokémon.
