Journey To Eden

Chapter 23: Chapter 23: On the Helmington, Again.

The sun finally rose bringing an end to the nightmare in the Western continent. The inhabitants of Chrisville were taken to refugee in the northern part of the continent and the elimination of William's was reported to the Beverley family.

Ezra, who was in a deep sleep, woke up shirtless and sweating profusely. He looked around and noticed that everything around him seemed familiar. He looked at his body and found that his wounds had been healed though he did have big scars on his leg and shoulder.

He turned to his right and saw Alba, who had fallen into a deep slumber next to him.

"Rise and shine, Alba." he said, with a smile on his face.

Alba woke up slowly and blinked a few times before her vision stabilized.

"Ezra, you're awake." she gave him a big hug followed by flurry of kissed all over his face.

"How long was I asleep and where are we?" Ezra asked. Even though he recognized the interior, he still couldn't quite make it out.

"You've been asleep for three days, Ezra. Alba has been here waiting for you to come through." a young woman answered and the moment Ezra saw her black hair and large eyes, his eyes widened in surprise.

"You're Josephine, deputy captain of the..." He gasped at the realisation.

"Took you long enough." Alba teased. "We are on the S.S Helmington."

Ezra got off of the bed slowly and sat on it. He looked at the the two women in his room and something came to mind.

"How was I healed?"

"Oh right. Our doctor is a water soul animal user. So he healed you but your poison was removed by Alba." Josephine explained.

Ezra looked at Alba warmly. He truly loved this woman.

"Where is everyone else?" He asked.

"They are above. You can see them." Josephine answered, directing him out the staircase.

"Ezra." Everyone shouted as they ran to him and jumped on him with wide hugs that made Ezra fall to the ground.

"Are you guys trying to kill me?" Ezra shouted.

They all burst into laughter before getting off of him and helping him out.

"We are glad you made it." Tina said as Delilah nodded.

"Honestly, you didn't have to give us a scare like that. I thought you were going to die for a second there." Koko said.

"Koko really missed you. He would wait by the door everyday and night." Tina said.

"So what if I did. He's my friend after all." Koko said.

"Thanks, Koko." Ezra said.

"Haha, ya kid. You've got some nice friends." said a deep hoarse voice.

Ezra turned to the man speaking to him. He recognized that voice all too well.

"Old man." He yelled happily.

The captain let out a hearty laugh. "It's good to see that you're okay. Kid." the captain said. "Come to my office. You and your friends."

"Okay."

Ezra, Alba, Koko, Tina and Delilah entered the captain's office and took their seats opposite his table.

"First things first. I'm gravely sorry for what happened in William's. You're friends told me everything." the captain said.

"How did you even find us? We weren't near any port." Ezra asked.

"True but at the extreme end of the southern province, there is a cargo port." Koko said.

"Jelani is right. Though I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't know about it. It is rather discrete, which is good because the enemy doesn't even know of its existence hence why it was the only port, other than the royal port, that survived the attack in the western continent." the old man explained.

"Indeed. Also due to its secrecy, there are a lot of pirates, bandits and other criminals because the royal don't want to fight them and risk it getting discovered." Koko explained.

"Hmm, if that's the case then how did you find out about it?" Ezra asked.

"I was once kidnapped and was about to get trafficked, but my brother Ayman saved me." Koko replied rather confidently.

"Away from that. There is one other problem." the captain said.

Ezra looked around and saw everyone's heads were facing down.

"What is it? Where is my eagle?" Ezra asked, concerned.

"It's here." Josephine brought the eagle that immediately flew and landed on Ezra's shoulder and began rubbing its head on his face.

"I'm glad your okay." The eagle said. "I thought I had lost another master."

"I'm okay. Damn, you really did miss me." Ezra said to the eagle before realizing that everyone was looking at him.

"You may proceed." Ezra said.

"Talk about killing the mood." Koko said.

The old man cleared his throat to bring everyone's attention back to him.

"Okay. Now that have your attention. Let me take you through what happened throughout the world the past week."

During the past week that Ezra and the team were fighting Nova, cannibals and Lilah, Nova destroyed the other port towns of the western continent only leaving the royal port and the secret port. This earned him the title of enemy number one by the world government.

"In the North, a new cult was founded that worship the Elder Gods and are also on their own mission to find Eden. Currently the world is rather stable because of King Amira's reputation and relentless nature."

"The Southern Continent, headed by Prince Ayman set a team out to hunt down all traitors and have them executed and anyone harboring a criminal shall be sentenced to death as well so everyone is scared."

"Travel by water is still allowed but there is rumor that that may change soon. Aizen college is thinking of disabling operation ten of tens but they are still debating on it."

"And that's mostly what has happened."

"In only one week and the world looks like it's about to go to war. That's messed up" Ezra thought.

He looked at the captain and asked, "Where are we going?"

"Alba thought that it would be better if we went to Aizen college to report everything to them." Tina said.

"Yeah, that's for the best. They would have to know before something else happens." Ezra said.

Ezra and the team left the office and Ezra felt a strange euphoric feeling of going back to Aizen college on the S.S Helmington. The feeling was almost nostalgic and he couldn't help but smile.

The ship took course over to Aizen college where they would report the events that transpired in the Western continent for the world to know.

"It appears like its time. Time we brought down Aizen college." said a large man in black armor.
