Chapter 7: Chapter 6: Beacon Hills High School
The soft morning light filtered through the curtains as Lucian opened his eyes, the faint sounds of birds chirping outside. He sat up, stretched, and prepared himself for the day ahead. Today was his first day at Beacon Hills High, and though it seemed mundane, he knew the clock was ticking for Scott's transformation.
After freshening up, Lucian joined Melissa and Scott at the dining table for breakfast.
"Morning, Lucian," Melissa greeted with a warm smile as she placed a plate of scrambled eggs and toast in front of him.
"Morning," Lucian replied, sitting down.
Scott was already halfway through his meal, glancing at his phone between bites. "You ready for your first day at school?"
"Yeah, it'll be nice to see the place," Lucian said casually.
"Scott, make sure you show him around," Melissa chimed in, sipping her coffee.
Scott nodded. "Of course."
After finishing breakfast, Lucian grabbed his backpack and left with Scott.
Arrival at School
The parking lot of Beacon Hills High was buzzing with activity as students arrived, chatting and laughing. Lucian followed Scott through the main doors, taking in the bustling hallways lined with lockers.
"Lucian, meet Stiles," Scott said, gesturing to a lanky boy with messy hair and an energy that was almost infectious.
"Hey, new guy!" Stiles grinned, shaking Lucian's hand enthusiastically. "Welcome to the madhouse."
"Thanks," Lucian replied with a chuckle.
Stiles immediately launched into a story about a school prank he'd pulled last semester, making Scott groan. "Don't listen to him too much," Scott said. "He's full of terrible ideas."
The three of them laughed as they headed to their first class.
The first-period teacher, a middle-aged woman with a sharp gaze, gestured for Lucian to come to the front of the room.
"Class, this is Lucian Everhart. He's new to Beacon Hills, so let's make him feel welcome," she announced.
Lucian nodded at the class, noticing a mix of curiosity and indifference in their faces this was for males only but the females were eying him as hungry wolfs that make Lucian who was a werewolf ran shiver through this tail. He returned to his seat as the lesson began.
The first class was English, and Lucian focused intently on the material. Halfway through reading a passage, a notification from the system appeared in his vision:
---
System Alert:
Reading subject material improves proficiency in associated fields. You are gaining progress toward English proficiency.
---
Lucian smirked and continued to read. By the end of the class, he felt a sharp clarity in his understanding of the language.
---
Congratulations! You have acquired English Proficiency (Basic).
---
The rest of the day followed a similar pattern. History, math, and science classes provided steady notifications as he absorbed the knowledge. By the end of the school day, Lucian's stats had several new additions:
---
Proficiencies Gained:
English Proficiency (Intermediate)
History Proficiency (Basic)
Math Proficiency (Basic)
Science Proficiency (Basic)

Exploring Beacon Hills
After school, Lucian joined Scott and Stiles as they walked out together.
"Let's show you around," Stiles said enthusiastically. "There's more to this town than just the school and forest."
The three of them wandered through Beacon Hills, visiting the town square, the library, and even passing by the sheriff's station where Stiles' dad worked. Stiles kept up a running commentary, pointing out landmarks and cracking jokes.
Lucian observed everything carefully, using the opportunity to analyze the people and places around him. The system subtly recorded every detail, feeding it into his growing database of information.
As the sun began to set, the trio split up. Stiles headed to his house, and Lucian walked back with Scott.
"Thanks for showing me around," Lucian said.
"No problem," Scott replied. "See you tomorrow."
Practicing the Mind
Back at the McCall house, dinner was a lively affair. Melissa asked about their day, and Scott recounted a few funny moments from school while Lucian nodded along, contributing when prompted.
Afterward, everyone retired to their rooms. Lucian, however, had no intention of sleeping. Closing the door, he sat cross-legged on his bed and activated his mental abilities.
"System," he murmured. "Show my proficiency levels for mental powers."
---
Proficiency Levels:
Mind Control: 40%
Memory Reading: 45%
Telepathy: 50%
---
Satisfied, Lucian began focusing his energy, visualizing scenarios to refine his control. He practiced influencing hypothetical minds, diving into imagined memories, and sending telepathic messages to himself.
---
System Update:
Your focus and determination are accelerating your proficiency gain.
Updated Proficiency Levels:
Mind Control: 50%
Memory Reading: 55%
Telepathy: 60%
---
Lucian grinned. Every step brought him closer to mastering these abilities. Today was the night when Peter Hale would bite Scott, and Lucian was ready to ensure the plan unfolded perfectly.
With that thought, he leaned back against the wall, his mind sharp and alert, preparing for what lay ahead.
