Chapter 30: Ryujin Jakka

While I removed the clumps of bone and hair from my foot I looked over to the pregnant Uzumaki woman.

"You," she jumped, "I'm not going to hurt you, don't worry. What's your name?" I asked her.

"K-Kanako, Uzumaki Kanako." She replied shakily.

"Fantastic, my name is Uchiha Akimitsu. You can come with me if you wish, my wife would love to meet another Uzumaki."

"You're married to an Uzumaki?!" She blinked at me in surprise.

"Yeah… enough of that though." I created a clone as I glanced around the village.

I could sense a few Shinobi sneaking closer. Creating a clone, I gave it instructions to teleport Kanako to Konaha. Specifically to the Uchiha compound where Kushina and the others were.

"I'll speak with you later, for now leave with my clone. I have some business to take care of."

My clone teleported away before she could protest, just in time as Orochimaru and a group of masked figures leapt out at me to attack.

Grinning, I summoned my armour around myself and hefted my gunbai. With a swing I bisected two of the masked figures and sent the rest flying with a gust of wind.

Unsurprisingly Orochimaru withstood the attack and launched a counter attack in the form of hundreds of snakes from his sleeves.

I blocked the snakes with the gunbai and kicked a masked figure away as they tried to sneak up behind me. Orochimaru lunged and tried to bite me, I landed a devastating elbow to his face making his head spin in a 360° turn. His neck cracked loudly and his body fell to the ground.

I knew he wasn't dead, but I went along with his act and killed the rest of his companions with well placed taijutsu strikes.

Once the last masked Shinobi fell, Orochimaru did his whole 'vomit myself a new body' thing and stood up covered in slime.

"Kukuku, Akimitsu-kun, why are you here?"

"Save it Pedomaru, I just wanted to see the look on your face when I turned you into a pile of ashes."

"What?"

"As the youth say these days; Omai wa mo, shinderu…"

"Nani!!!"

Orochimaru's eyes bulged when I flared 50% of my divine aura directly at him, his skin melted as his eyes caught fire, soon his body crumbled to ashes after being exposed to so much of my divine aura without any protection.

I reigned back my aura until it was back to its 'normal' Shinobi levels and let out a sigh, I hadn't even realised how much pent up power I was holding back by constantly suppressing my full might. I felt like I had finally taken a heavy backpack off after walking with it all day during the summer.

Around me a few buildings had caught fire, I sensed a few dead people that had accidentally seen me too.

'Oops… then again, these asshats willingly abused a pregnant woman for her healing powers. Their deaths won't make me lose any sleep.'

I teleported away back to Konoha, my job done and a snake pedo dead and dusted.

[Scene Break]

Kushina was all over Kanako, who I wondered about. The Uzumaki clan and village never fell due to my intervention. It was strange to me that she was so far away from her home village. Same with Nagato. Then again, this world was as brutal and there was bound to be one or two estranged clan members that either ran away or were exiled.

I made a mental note to scan the world for anymore Uzumaki clan members. I couldn't have my wife's clan members be in danger in good conscience. Especially not when I was technically the clan head of the Uchiha and Kushina and I were what strengthened the alliance between Konoha and Uzushio.

"Kushina, let the woman breathe love."

Kanako looked at me thankfully as Kushina finally backed away from where she had been fussing over her clan member.

"I'll be alright Kushina-sama."

"Come on let me take care of you Kanako-chan." Kushina pouted.

I felt a tingle of warmth in my chest at watching the two interact. Kushina clearly really cared for fellow Uzumaki members, sure she wasn't the last of Uzu but she was still very far from home and seeing others from her clan was something she rarely got to experience outside of visiting Uzushio.

After a few more moments I told Kushina that I'd go speak with the other girls to see if they'd like to make a quick trip to their worlds while she caught up with everyone in the village and Kanako.

Kushina agreed without any second thoughts. I gave her a quick kiss goodbye and made my way out of my home to search for everyone else.

Just as I stepped through the sliding door I heard the faint sound of a stringed instrument being plucked. There was a loud clack and another sliding door materialised beneath my feet.

I could have avoided it, I sensed the rift in space but I was curious. I had never seen such an ability in the Naruto world before. Not even Obito's still undiscovered Kamui could do something like that.

I let myself fall through the floor with a grin but not before slowing time down in the Naruto world to a crawl.

'Wonder where this will take me?' I mused as I fell.

[Scene Break]

I landed gracefully on snow covered ground. Looking around I noticed a very Japanese looking house not too far off from where I landed.

It looked similar to many of the houses in the Uchiha compound so I kept my Akimitsu appearance and the clothes I was wearing the same.

I slowly made my way over to the house and frowned when I caught the strong scent of freshly spilled blood. Fresh snow had covered most of it but my Sharingan saw the large patches of snow covered in blood.

Turning a bit I spotted several newly made graves with no markers. The scent on the bodies beneath all smelled the same, this had been a family.

By the blood around the place I could take that they had been brutally murdered. However I caught the lingering sense of two survivors that led away from the house.

One of the survivors felt off though, there was a barely noticeable sense of evil that was being suppressed somehow.

Humming to myself I dug around the home a bit more, using a fraction of my divine power I rooted myself in place as I fiddled with time a little bit.

While I was all for adventuring into the unknown, I also didn't want to just fumble around blindly. I wanted my experience in this world to be as 'immersive' for myself as possible.

Surprisingly I was in a world I had never seen before, the house had been standing for centuries and had once been the home of a famous swordsman it seemed. The swordsman gave the house to a friend after his family had been killed by strange vampire like creatures.

The swordsman had a very rigid style of fighting, almost as if he was doing katas instead of actual fighting. I learned a lot from watching him train.

I also watched the swordsman pass down his style to his friend who then adapted it into some sort of ritualistic dance. The dance was passed down through generations up until the most recent 'master' died.

Finally I watched some demon/vampire that looked hilariously like Michael Jackson murder and entire family on a whim. Two survived, a brother and a sister. They had been taken away by a young man who had another strange sword fighting style that had some similarities to the style I saw the red haired swordsman do.

'Must have been an offshoot of whatever technique that guy had.' I concluded.

I reigned in my power and let time flow back to normal. Crossing my arms I closed my eyes and debated on what to do.

I could explore this world further, maybe even have fun alone the way, or I could go back to the girls and carry on with what I was doing.

Seeing that it had been a long while since I've had a solo adventure I smiled and decided that this world needed some divine intervention.

[Scene Break]

I walked casually through the bustling streets of what seemed like semi-modern Japan. The homes were closer together and made with higher quality than expected.

There was also the fact that some people were dressed in suits rather than the traditional Japanese dress.

Even while it was day out, I could still sense an aura of darkness lingering in the shadows. The demons were watching, hidden from sight.

I explored the town for a bit before making my way to where I felt the aura of the two survivors. I eventually came upon a decently sized mountain radiating an air of 'sterility'. It wasn't wholly divine, but I could sense a spiritual aura protecting the place from the darkness that lurked in the not too distant village.

I turned myself invisible and undetectable, I watched as a young boy that looked remarkably like a young version of the red haired swordsman run some sort of obstacle course.

He seemed to be training as an old man in a tengu mask watched stealthily from afar. Not far off, two spiritual presences lurked. They didn't seem to be malignant so I ignored them, instead focusing on the hidden girl with a suppressed aura of darkness.

'She's been turned into one of the weird vampire things in the world.'

After observing silently for a few more minutes I left to wander a bit more and plot out a course of action that would entertain me while also not entirely imploding the world.

I caught a few appreciative glances from both genders as I walked down the dirt road. Picking up some street food I munched on the sweets as I finalised my plans in my head.

I knew there was some sort of vampire problem in this world, the presence of the young man that had saved the brother and sister and his uniform suggested that there was also a secret organisation that fought the vampires from the shadows.

My plan was to join this organisation and go along for the ride. I could just snap my fingers and kill all the vampire creatures in this world, but where was the fun in that?

I set a few mental limits on myself, from here forward I wouldn't use any divine powers unless necessary. I'd stick with all the abilities I had as 'Akimitsu Uchiha', which were already pretty fucking broken.

I could sense that just having the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan alone put me at the top of the strongest beings in this world. I mean I had given myself all the Sharingan abilities since I didn't want to 'limit' myself to a singular random power in each eye.

As a trained Shinobi my physical strength was also cracked, that along with chakra and the ability to use jutsu… well, even without a fancy sword I could level an entire city block by throwing up a few gang signs.

My wandering eventually stopped when my sensory abilities picked up another mountain with a similar aura as the one the siblings had been led to. Only this mountain had a feeling of darkness beneath the 'holy' aura.

I sensed a gathering of people at the top of the mountain, using a few shunshin leaps I secretly made my way to the peak. There I was met by a crowd of people.

Their ages ranged from young kids to teenagers. I felt a little out of place with my form being that of a guy in his early twenties.

Two strange looking girls suddenly appeared out of nowhere and began to speak.

"Good evening, tonight you've come to enter the demon slayer corps final selection. Thank you all for being here."

I hummed to myself as I listened to the twin girls alternate speaking. They talked about how there were a number of demons that were captured by the corps on the mountain.

They also mentioned that a special flower, the wisteria, bloomed on certain parts of the mountain. This prevented the vampires, now identified as 'demons', from escaping the mountain.

They made a whole speech about how the demons were very hungry and that everyone had to survive seven days on the mountain to be granted membership in the 'Demon Slayer Corps'.

After their speech the group of people dashed into the forest to begin. I gave the twins one last look before slowly walking into the forest.

'This is going to be fun.' I smile to myself.

[Scene Break]

Nothing happened for the first three days, I didn't encounter any demons or any other slayer candidates. Then I realised that I was passively leaking out killing intent, this naturally scared off the demons.

Sighing at my slight blunder I restrained all my killing intent and stood in a clearing. Closing my eyes I crossed my arms and waited. Surely enough a large shape crashed through the trees before trying to bite me.

'Here we go.'

"Stay still human!" The demon purred.

I didn't bother opening my eyes, using my sensory abilities I dodged all the demon's attacks slowly infuriating the creature.

Finally I cracked one eye open and glared at the demon with a swirling Sharingan. The demon froze for a second upon seeing my glowing red eye.

"W-who are you…" the demon asked.

"Death." My reply came out as a bored drawl.

Seemingly insulted by my answer the demon charged again, without any wasted movement I lashed out with a slap.

The demons arm was blasted off its body by the force of my attack. The creature screeched in pain and struck at me with it other clawed hand.

"Weak… pathetically weak." I mused out loud making the demon angrier.

Dodging the claws I kicked the demon in the chest, sending it crashing through a few trees. I heard a few of its bones break from my kick.

It roared at me, its severed arm regrowing quickly as it rushed at me again. I made a note of its regeneration capabilities, it wasn't instantaneous but I knew that this wasn't a particularly strong demon either.

I opened both eyes and with a pulse of chakra, I locked the demon into a genjutsu. The demon froze midair and crashed into the ground.

Sliding towards my feet I waited for it to break free from the weak genjutsu but sighed when it just stayed in place.

'Hmm, maybe I overestimated the mental strength of these creatures. I thought they'd at least be able to break free from a simple genjutsu. Hell, even a genin could break free from the genjutsu I put it in.'

"I don't have a sword… I guess I'll just have to make do." I said out loud.

I went and picked up a fist sized rock that I casually threw it up and down while making my way back over to the still frozen demon. Once I was standing in front of the fallen demon, I brought the rock down on its head.

A loud crunch echoed through the strangely silent forest. The demon twitched on ground still trapped in my genjutsu. Throwing the rock to the side I sighed.

"Not as satisfying as using a baseball bat."

Standing over the demon I made a single hand sign, for immersion sake, and blew out a concentrated stream of fire at the demon until there was only scorned ground and ashes left.

"Gouka Mekkyaku is so fun to use even when I significantly underpower it." I sighed in satisfaction.

Humming to myself I brushed the dust off my clothes and sent out a pulse of chakra to find more demons to kill.

A week passed by in a flash, after killing a few more demons to experiment to see which jutsus were more effective I decided to just relax for a bit. A few of the demon slayer candidates died unfortunately. I could have brought them back but I was challenging myself to not use my god powers.

At the dawn of the seventh day the remaining candidates met at the foot of the mountain where the slightly creepy twins addressed everyone. We were given uniforms which I didn't bother wearing, and a chance to pick out a lump of special ore that would become our sword.

Going with the flow I picked out a random chunk of iron and handed it to the twins before wandering off. Before I could get very far I was called out to by one of the twins.

"Excuse me… could you please stay for a moment?"

"Hmm?," I turned around, "what is it child?"

"May we ask for your name, you were one of the few that showed up without a sponsor, we need your name so that we can submit it to our master and have you added to our records."

"Right, my name is Akimitsu Uchiha."

"Very well Uchiha-san, your Kasugai companion will notify you once your nichirin blade has been finished."

"Hn." I gave the trademark Uchiha grunt before walking away without another word.

[Scene Break]

A month passed with no news from the 'Slayer Corps' so I made myself busy. After settling not too far from a village I began to think about the relationships I had. I wasn't used to having so many people to care about or that cared about me.

Then I thought about Kushina and the girls, and my daughter popped into my head as well. She was bound to start questioning why I was always gone pretty soon.

"Fuck… I'm a shitty dad."

'Well, I knew that but it's even worse for my biological child and first wife.' I added silently in my head.

I was going to remedy that as soon as I got back. My wife and the girls needed more attention. Despite them having said that it didn't really bother them, I knew that subconsciously, they weren't happy.

A raven landed on my shoulder before relaying a message to me. I had taken inspiration from Itachi and created a summoning contract for ravens a while ago. I could do the same thing Itachi did with his crows only with ravens.

The raven let out a few more warbling croaks before flying off. It had just let me know that my sword had just been finished and was on its way to the house I had built.

I had returned to the old home that the two surviving siblings had come from and built a modest home behind their small mountain. Using a multitude of jutsus I had created a seemingly regular Japanese style home but with hidden features that were common in Konoha.

I heard footsteps outside my sliding door, walking over I opened it and met the masked swordsmith. His Hyottoko depicts an exaggerated laugh. In his hands was a silk bundle about the standard length of a katana.

"Uchiha-san, my name is Takumi, I was the smith that forged your nichirin blade." The smith said as he bowed in respect.

Taking the bundle of silk from him with both hands I untied the silk rope and revealed my blade.

"This is some fine work Takumi-san, I can see the effort you have placed in its creation."

The tsuka was made of a sturdy wood, wrapped in a royal violet tsuka ito. The tsuba was made of polished bronze in a simple circular design, the saya was a simple polished wood. There weren't any varnish or extravagant fittings.

I looked at Takumi once more before drawing the blade in one smooth motion. I heard the smith hold his breath as he watched my blade for any changes.

I felt the blade draw a bit of my chakra before it began to shift colours. The silvery metal slowly turned a dark red as it was glowing hot. Humming to myself I sheathed the blade and turned to Takumi who was standing silently.

"In all my years I have never seen a blade take that colour. I expect great things from you Uchiha-san." Takumi spoke calmly before turning around and walking off without any further words.

'Is red a significant colour for a blade? I sort of remember that swordsman's blade having a similar shade. Oh well, can't be that important.' I thought to myself.

The sword pulsed with power making me quirk and eyebrow, it almost felt alive. It had taken a minuscule piece of my chakra which was created with my god powers.

There was a chance that my unnatural chakra made the sword somewhat sentient. Feeling a bit cheeky, I smirked and looked at the sword in my hand.

"I bet you'd like a name."

There was another thrum from my sword, my smirk turned into a full smile.

"I have just the name for you, from this day onward, you will be known as… Ryujin Jakka.
