Joining the Joyful Union Sect, My Life in the Grip of My Senior Sister

Chapter 39: Insolvable debt, With My Life

Chapter 39: Insolvable debt, With My Life

A monk named Fa Ming stepped forward behind Fa Hui and apologized, “We were just itching to learn a thing or two about the Jade Tree Sect’s swordsmanship.”

“These junior brothers have just joined the sect, why don’t I take their place?” Chen Qingyan said coldly.

“This…” Fa Hui and Fa Ming and the others were at a loss.

Lin Fengmian stepped forward and let out a cold snort, “Senior Sister, even though my skills are lacking, since these friends want to test us, I can’t back down, lest others think that the Jade Tree Sect has no successors!”

Chen Qingyan was taken aback and looked at Lin Fengmian with some hesitation.

However, Liu Mei nodded with interest, “In that case, Junior Brother Lin, you spar with this friend from Yang Sping Temple, just go easy on him.”

Lin Fengmian nodded and stepped forward, standing proudly in the middle with an inexplicable aura surrounding him.

Whether he could win or not was one thing, but he would certainly put on a show.

This made the eyes of Xia Yunxi and the City Lord’s wife light up as they watched him with rapt attention.

Yangquan Temple also sent their lowest-level disciple, an eighth-level Qi Refining cultivator, to face Lin Fengmian.

The man touched his shiny head, looked embarrassed, and apologized, “Junior brother, I’ll suppress some of my cultivation.”

“No need, friend, go all the way!” Lin Fengmian said arrogantly.

This made the disciple named Fa Zhi’s face turn grim, “Then I’d like to learn Junior Brother Lin’s skills.”

The onlookers also noticed the faint sword aura emanating from Lin Fengmian, and they couldn’t help but wonder.

Was he truly a sword cultivator?

Had they caught the wrong person?

Fa Zhi attacked Lin Fengmian, but Lin Fengmian simply put his hand on his sword, causing Fa Zhi to feel a tingling sensation and quickly change direction.

He changed directions several times, but as soon as Lin Fengmian turned to look, he would feel a sense of impending doom, his hair would stand on end, and he would quickly retreat.

The onlookers who had been eagerly anticipating the battle between the immortals were now confused. This immortal was like a dancing shaman, constantly circling the other immortal without attacking.

“What’s going on?”

“‘Yeah, are they going to fight at all? They’re just running around like monkeys.”

“He hasn’t even drawn his sword, and he’s already scared half to death. What’s the point?”

“Maybe the Immortal has already drawn his sword, but we can’t see it?”

Hearing the murmur from the crowd, Fa Zhi’s face turned ashen, and his pride was deeply wounded.

His eyes narrowed as he roared, “Be careful!”

He swung his long staff down, causing earth spikes to erupt from the ground and stab at Lin Fengmian.

Since he couldn’t get close, he would use ranged attacks.

Lin Fengmian smiled faintly, “I like stabbing people, but I don’t like being stabbed, especially by men!”

He stomped his foot and hurled himself at Fa Zhi like a projectile.

As the spikes shot out, Lin Fengmian stepped on them and rose effortlessly into the air.

Fa Zhi quickly dodged to avoid Lin Fengmian’s attack. However, Lin Fengmian didn’t draw his sword, he just clung to Fa Zhi like a leech.

Chased all over the field, Fa Zhi suddenly swung his staff down, sending a whirlwind of sand into the air, obscuring everything.

Lin Fengmian’s view was blocked by the sand, and he lost sight of Fa Zhi. He frowned and simply closed his eyes.

A few Foundation Establishment cultivators outside the ring could see through the sand with their divine consciousness.

They saw Fa Zhi silently circling behind Lin Fengmian, then lunging at Lin Fengmian with his staff at a treacherous angle, aiming to seriously injure Lin Fengmian.

Liu Mei’s face changed slightly, and she was about to intervene, but someone moved faster than her.

Lin Fengmian’s ears twitched as he understood what Luo Xue meant by following the momentum. In an instant, he turned around and drew his sword!

With a single stroke, Fa Zhi was pushed back by Fa Hui’s timely intervention, his face was pale with fear.

Fa Hui had intended to save Lin Fengmian, but he ended up saving Fa Zhi instead. He was a bit embarrassed.

“This junior brother is really skilled! Such a sharp sword intent!” Fa Hui exclaimed.

Fa Zhi’s face was ashen. His staff had been split in two, leaving him drenched in cold sweat.

The crowd erupted in cheers. The City Lord’s daughter, the young girl named Yan’er, clapped enthusiastically, “Amazing!”

The City Lord’s wife couldn’t help but remember the intimate scenes she shared with Lin Fengmian yesterday, and the beautiful dream she had.

As she thought about their date tonight, her jade legs tightened slightly.

He was truly a jade-like young man from the countryside who captured everyone’s hearts. She couldn’t help but feel a blush creep up her cheeks.

“My junior brother has only recently started practicing swordplay, and he’s still not able to control it well. He almost hurt junior brother Fa Zhi. I apologize for the misunderstanding,” Liu Mei said with a smile.

Lin Fengmian quickly apologized as well. Fa Hui waved his hand dismissively, “It’s nothing. I was outmatched. It was my fault for the misunderstanding.”

He bowed to the group, “Since it was a misunderstanding, we will take our leave. Farewell!”

“Please take care,” Liu Mei replied with a bow.

Fa Hui led his disciples off. The two “cabbage heads” were about to say something, but Wang Yanran patted their shoulders, forcing them to lower their heads.

Once Fa Hui and his group were out of sight, Liu Mei breathed a sigh of relief, “Everyone, take a break and we’ll continue later.”

She wasn’t tired, but she had to warn the two “cabbage heads” and reward Lin Fengmian.

Upon entering the temporarily prepared room, Liu Mei gestured to Wang Yanran and Mo Ruyu and instructed them to “wash the brains” of the two “leeks”.

After the two women led the two “leeks” away, she turned to Xia Yunxi and Chen Qingyan and said, “Two junior sisters, you go outside and take a look around to prevent them from making a comeback.”

Xia Yunxi gave Lin Fengmian a worried look before turning to leave, following Chen Qingyan to check the surroundings.

Liu Mei said to Lin Fengmian, “Junior Brother Lin, come with me.”

Lin Fengmian followed her into a rest room and looked at her helplessly.

Liu Mei crossed her arms, her chest heaving, and asked with a grin, “Why didn’t you take the chance to expose our identities? Don’t you know who we are better than anyone else?”

Lin Fengmian was a bit speechless, Why don’t you try to poison me? Do you think I won’t kill you?

But on the surface, he said righteously, “I was born as a member of the Joyful Union Sect, and I will die as a ghost of the Joyful Union Sect. How could I sit idly by while they insult my senior sisters?”

Liu Mei burst out laughing and said with a hint of annoyance, “You’re putting on quite a show! Where did you learn this sword technique?”

“What do you mean?” Lin Fengmian replied ambiguously.

Liu Mei leaned closer to him, her weight pressing down on him, and whispered, “You did me a big favor, how can I repay you?”

Lin Fengmian chuckled dryly, “It’s my duty, no need for that.”

“Nonsense, I am a person who rewards and punishes fairly, how could I not reward you?”

Liu Mei frowned and chuckled, “But right now, all I have is myself.”

She gently took off her clothes, allowing Lin Fengmian to witness what it meant to be an “old shoulder giant slide”, half covered yet revealing.
