Lin Fengmian hadn’t expected Luo Xue to stick to her decision – she still insisted on going to his timeline to take a look.
He had no intention of letting her discover the secret of Qionghua Sect’s destruction. With a flick of his wrist, he threw the Zhenyuan Sword into the distance, where it sank firmly into the ground.

Both of them were stunned – this was the last thing either of them had expected.
Since neither of them had wielded the Zhenyuan Sword, both of their souls were now sharing Lin Fengmian’s body.
Suddenly, Song Youwei stirred beside him. Awakened by his startled reaction, she sat up dazedly and stared at him in confusion.
“Luo Xue? Fengmian, what’s wrong?”
Lin Fengmian gave her an awkward smile. “It’s nothing. I just got a little distracted. Go back to sleep.”
Song Youwei made a small sound of acknowledgement, but continued to watch him without blinking, showing no intention of going back to sleep.
Feeling slightly uncomfortable, Lin Fengmian focused inward. Now wasn’t the time to think about Song Youwei-Luo Xue’s situation was more urgent. He closed his eyes and began to meditate.
“Luo Xue, are you still here?”
“Of course I am!” Luo Xue’s melodious voice echoed in his mind.
Lin Fengmian sighed in despair. “Why did you come too?”

Before Lin Fengmian could react, Luo Xue took control of his body. She looked inside Lin Fengmian’s body and was extremely surprised.

Just as she began to gather some energy, a frantic voice from outside interrupted her.
“Master! Something bad has happened! The old master and madam want you to come to the hall quickly. There seems to be a major incident in town!”
Lin Fengmian quickly regained control of his body and turned to a startled Song Youwei. “It’s okay. I’ll go see what’s going on.”
He stood up, opened the door, and asked in a serious tone, “What’s going on?”
Little Butterfly nervously replied, “I’m not sure, but Lord Zhao came in a hurry. There seems to be a large horde of beasts outside the city!”
As Lin Fengmian stepped outside, he saw that Wen Qinlin, Xia Yunxi, and others had already gotten up and were following him toward the hall.
When he entered the hall, he found Lin Wencheng talking urgently with Zhao Yucheng. Zhao Yucheng looked as desperate as a cat on a hot tin roof and rushed over as soon as he saw Lin Fengmian.

He glanced around, but didn’t see Wang Yanran, and inwardly lamented how well she was hiding.

Lin Fengmian hesitated, his suspicions about Zhao Yazhi bubbling up again.
But Wen Qinlin laughed and reassured him, “It’s okay. I’ll stay here and keep watch. Just go and come back quickly.”
With Wen Qinlin’s words reassuring him, Lin Fengmian decided that he could trust his friend to keep an eye out, even if he had to keep Wang Yanran in mind as a backup.
