John Snow is A Girl

Chapter 63: Varys

The soldiers who were standing there didn't dare act recklessly when the dragons were here, now they are actively blocking the small council and the leisurely walking Deanerys and Olivia's path.

"Who goes there?" A burly man stood on their path with a large axe but the unsullied are not to be outdone, they put their shields and pointed their spears forward. The Dothraki surrounded the army walking menacingly closer with their deadly weapons. Don't forget the five dragons who suddenly came back darkening the skies.

Like a group of friends, the dragons flew in low altitude roaring at Aegon's army. This showed a clear stance of one Olivia Snow. She is here to support her aunt. Varys walked towards Deanerys and bowed in greeting to Olivia making her internally click her tongue.

"Your grace, perhaps a gentle approach? We don't know his story perhaps he is as much a Targaryen as you are, perhaps not but a conversation is necessary." Varys said with the most humble posture he could assume at this time.

Deanerys turned to Olivia but saw her glaring at Varys as if she wants to cut him into many pieces. Realizing she may be bias, she turned to Tyrion who is fond of the spider for saving him so naturally he agrees.

Olivia said something slowly. "There has never been a queen to truly rule Westeros. Perhaps people know this and are looking to leverage this fact to muzzle you out of what is yours. Why Aegon and not Rheaneys? You would think the most to suffer is a girl in a city surrounded by savage Lannister dogs is a little girl but you don't save a girl who is old enough to keep silent and not scream for mothers mild while being smuggled out of the keep." She turned to Deanerys

"Doesn't it strike you as odd? The one to survive is the one we won't be able to identify because he was too small at that time?"

"It is still not enough to dispel his claims." Tyrion also found it odd. But he will stand with his friend.

"I agree. So I will dispel it with proof that it is a lie. I think it is necessary I intervene since he is supposed to be my half brother. Most importantly he is here to take away my aunt's hard earned victory." She smirked when Varys began to sweat. Meanwhile the man of the hour is slowly approaching with his men surrounding him.

The air crackled with tension as Deanerys looked at the young man.

The long awaked confrontation has finally come. Aegon looked at the beautiful woman holding Daenerys's arm and concluded this must be his half sister. Frowning he complained loudly.

"I have been here for more than two months yet you never welcome me with such fondness. I am your half brother while she is just an aunt." He has seen her attire when she came down from her dragon. He knows which one is Olivia Snow.

"You are not my half brother. If you are looking for family I suggest you talk to the eunuch next to the dwarf. He is the only one closely related to you by blood here." Olivia said out loud making Varys wince and jump back as if that statement is like scolding lava.

"That is a lot of nonsense." Aegon gritted his teeth. Olivia took out a gray pill.

"This is a truth pill. Whomever eat this pill will only tell the truth. Give it to him and find out if I am lying or not." Olivia threw the pill to the seething Aegon.

"Is what she said true? You betrayed me?" Deanerys asked walking towards the bold man with a flat expression.

"To betray you would mean he was once loyal to you." Olivia sneered.

"Your grace, we don't know if this is the truth or not. Please calm down." Tyrion stood in front of Varys shielding him with his small body hoping to defuse the situation.

"I think his treachery runs deeper than that. He was there when the Stag rebelled against the dragon. Perhaps he started it to put his own blood on the thrown." Just as Deanerys is almost calm, Olivia's taunts came again.

"That is not true!" Varys protested immediately.

"Then take the pill and answer a few questions from a curious dragon queen you swore to serve." Olivia said flatly.

"We don't know what that pill really does." Tyrion said shaking his large head.

"If I am wrong I will apologize and compensate you with a thousand ships. What say you?" She turned to Deanerys who knew the importance of ships in times of war. A thousand ships that belongs only to her and not one of her allies sounds like a very good deal.

Looking at the situation she doesn't have anything to lose and everything to gain from accepting Olivia's proposal. Not to mention she will be sorry if she let a person's with Varys expertise die. But if his talents are being used against her then there is no need to hesitate.

"Why are you suggesting this?" Deanerys looked Olivia in suspicion. Olivia shook her head.

"It is not for you, he is responsible for the war of five kings. He wanted to cripple the realm so that he can have his chosen king on the throne. He is like a disease infecting the seven kingdoms from the inside all these years. Most importantly he is responsible for my father's death." Olivia explained slowly letting everyone know the truth she has known for too long.

"If that were true, why is he still alive?" Tyrion asked to disprove her claims.

"I wanted to know his end game. What was he hoping to achieve with all his past actions and now that I know, there is no need for me to let his plans succeed." She answered calmly.

Varys felt his knees go soft and he slumped on the ground. How can he not recognize the truth pill that his little birds saw Petyr Baelish swallow before he confessed so many of his crimes to the previous hand of the king Lord Arryn?

If he takes that pill it is all over for him. Having know Deanerys and seen her way of handling things, he knows very well what will happen to him if he is fed that pill. Years of planning, just as he is about to seat back and watch his handy work it is all crumbling in from of him.

Deanerys had Varys arrested but Aegon still couldn't believe that he was just a pawn in some elaborate plot to control Westeros. A man who spent his entire life training to rule only to discover it was all a blatant lie. No matter, he can not fall apart in front of these people.

"That was one hell of a display Northern Snow." Aegon said but Olivia didn't say anything in response. She is not here to disgrace the young man but when she saw Varys it was annoying for her.

"Dany, let's go and clean the place up. Get ready for your upcoming undertaking." Olivia said leaning on her aunt's shoulder with great familiarity. Then she looked around.

"Where is the old man?" She asked.

"Who? Sir Barristan has something to do at the moment." Tyrion says frowning slightly.

Olivia thought to herself that she has caused a lot of commotion here, she took Shireen Baratheon and went to ride their dragons back.

"I will visit." She left this statement before departure. Olivia realizes she doesn't want to see Varys's hearing. If he makes it out of this, she will take it upon herself to punish him personally.

Tyrion had wanted to say something to her but it seems there us no chance. Olivia had killed his brother. This news reached Tyrion a while back but he is still dazed about it. On one hand he is glad he doesn't have to see him again but on the other hand he feels truly alone in the world now. With no one by his side.

Lost in thought, he saw his queen ignore Aegon Targaryen passing him like he is an insignificant person made Tyrion wants to say something.

When Deanerys is done changing she called Aegon to the throne room. Aegon and his men seem to be full of blood lust. Tyrion is nervous about what happens next.

"You do not summon me!" The man is displeased at the lack of respect. He has spent all these years being called prince. But just now he was spoken to with sarcasm and ridicule.

"Why should I care about you? Because you can pay men to fight for you? Anyone with money can do that. You came here under the guise of being my nephew and I will prove to you whether it is true or not." His little tantrum didn't get a rise out of Deanerys in the slightest.

"And what if it's not?"

"I have three times your numbers and you have no claim to my throne. It would be best if you took your men back to where you came from or kneel and declare for me. When I take the throne from my enemies you may remain in dragon stone. Because even though you are not my nephew you are of my blood." Deanerys said loudly showing the strength she has accumulated over the years. This is a queen not a foolish young girl she once was.

"First lets get answers. There's no need to rush." After a long silence, Tyrion spoke up reminding them that Varys has not been interrogated yet.

...

Olivia is now gone having achieved her initial goal to prevent the two armies from fighting by showing them they are both already weak against her dragons. This way they will feel a sense of crisis and seek an alliance. This will bring Cersei Lannister to her knees soon enough.

That was her real goal for going down there and told her dragons to show their true size which is comparable to the three largest dragons in history. Their obvious might quickly dismayed the two people from engaging in a conflict seeing her as a third party they need to be wary of.

Varys is brought in front of the two people and fed a pill. Then he told them the truth even revealed that Aegon's mother is alive and well. His sister. Deanerys has complicated feelings about finding another member of house. For the time being she could use an ally but because of his gender, she needs to keep an eye on him. Like Olivia said, Westeros has ever had a queen rule the seven kingdoms without a king.

A few days letters were sent to all the high lords informing them of her return, then she told them to come and bend the knee to their rightful queen.

Varys of course is burned with dragon fire for his lies. Tyrion is now more fearful of Olivia than ever before. She managed to dismantle their group even before Deanerys sat on the throne of dragon stone. What else does she know?

In the North after receiving the letter, Robb decided to call upon his sister and use their relationship to discourage the dragon queen from coming North. What he didn't expect was for Olivia to reply to him with a resounding 'NO' which is very upsetting.

"She doesn't want to help?" Umber Small John asked his king.

"She probably wants to punish your family for the abuse she endured growing up." A subtle voice sounded by door. When everyone turned, they found the bastard of Dread ford coming inside the meeting hall with his step mother on the side.

No one likes this boy, he is known for being cruel and vicious. Robb who has even finished the three castles he had borrowed money from Olivia to build, heard a lot more news about this young man and is looking for a reason to quickly dispose of him.

"How are we going to survive dragons? There's a reason our ancestor bend the knee all those years ago." One lord said with visible unease on his face.

Robb had called them hear to see what they would do in such a situation. Will they trust him or will they panic and try to stab him in the back to carry favor with the new regime?

In fact, a while ago he gained the approval of the crown of the king of the North. The spirit of the land has accepted him as the true king, if he is attacked by human armies he is expected to fend them off on his own. However, if beasts attack the North he is expected to seek help from the king of winter.

There are several problems with this plan, the obvious one being the fact that Olivia, despite knowing about the existence of such a throne decided to ignore it. As a result there is no winter king.

After Robb won the hardest test from the spirit of the North, he was given a choice. Bloodline inheritance or protection against magical and fierce beast. Knowing the existence of dragons and Krakens and humans who can control them, he chose the later.

Lost in his thoughts as the meeting went on, everyone heard a loud 'dud' outside and rushed to see what is going on. They are all surprised to find what looks to be a dragon dying on the ground with its rider still trying to come out from underneath the dragon.

"Help!" Screams came from under the dragon. Robb understood what happened at a glance. This woman had come to force him to bend the knee but her dragon had fallen from the sky instead.

He stood there and watched as his men pulled one Deanerys Storm born from under the dragon. It seems when they were falling, she was protected by the beast and because of this, it sustained major injuries. She just had a broken arm and a twisted hip.

When she is put on a stretcher and taken to a Maester for consultation, she found that her 'conquest' of Westeros will have to be put on hold because any more dragon riding from her part will result in losing her arm permanently.

"Call him for me." Deanerys demanded. When Robb walked in and saw the beautiful woman wrapped in bandages on one leg and one arm, he felt strangely amused.

"I see you are proud of yourself." Deanerys said with bitterness.

"I must admit you have a tenacious spirit. I specifically asked the Maester to not give you any pain killers. Seeing you so firm is amusing because I know you are in a lot of pain." Years have gone by and the only thing that has always bothered Robb was solved by the land spirit. He has been in a very good mood lately.

"What happened out there?" She asked shuddering slightly at the memory.

"You are the only one who witnessed it." He said nonchalantly it is obvious he is avoiding the question.

"My dragon suddenly went out of control and tried frying away but seemed to be bound by invisible chains that kept pulling us down with tremendous force." She looked at Robb with wide eyes. "How is he now?" Her heart thumps in her chest with nerves.

Robb didn't give her a reassuring answer "Suffering." His voice unconcerned.

Deanerys widen her eyes in worry. "Please let him go. He was only following my orders." She pleaded.

"I won't kill it but it will stay here forever from now on. This is all the mercy I can show to the one who meant to 'conquer' us. This should serve as a warning to all the dragon riders out there." Robb said coolly. Deanerys felt her heart sink. She has just lost her most precious thing here today.

She raised her head and looked at him, eyes full of hate and un willingness. "You will regret this." She said and Robb didn't doubt she plans to make him pay a price but what of it?

Instead of feeling uneasy he flashed her a bright smile and declared.

"From now on the North will be known is the land where dragons go to die!" He turned around and left her to herself. This is undoubtedly the most devastating loss she has ever had after losing her husband.

"Just you wait." She said her eyes glued to the spot where his form had been a moment ago.
