Chapter 62: Fake!
Aegon moved closer to her with a stern expression on his face. "Did she send you to study and assess me?"
"I wish that were the case, but I am just a small time healer." Molly said nonchalantly.
"Ever since you came to this village, no one has died from illness because of your miraculous medicine which you don't seem to value very much." He spoke with an intensity that made it hard to dispute.
His handsome face turned to her, those purple eyes looking particularly dazzling. That scorching gaze met Olivia's indifferent one.
"I don't know what you want to hear from me." She is not moved at all. The only thing on her mind is Drogo not eating.
"Sigh, I just...Do you think she will interfere?"
"Probably not." Olivia said in response.
"I am her half brother! Won't she even help me?" Aegon said in frustration. The plan was simple, draw Olivia out and together Unite the seven kingdoms before the dragon queen arrives.
"I hate to break it to you but if you really were her half brother, she would have been here a long time ago." Olivia decided to ensure this guy doesn't bother her on the basis they are related by blood.
Aegon's expression morphed into a snarl. "What is that suppose to mean?"
"It means exactly what you think it means, you were either lied to or you are lying to everyone." She tried to say it as gentle as possible.
The moment she said it, the tension in the air became palpable. His reaction is not as dramatic as she had thought it would be after hearing someone say such a thing to him.
"Do you think this is the first time I have heard these words? It doesn't matter what your Northern snow get up to as long as she doesn't get in my way." He said coolly after a while of staring at her.
"Well, good luck on your endeavors." She left because even though he said so, his eyes are still burning with a fierce light.
Olivia reached her balcony in only a few minutes and changed into a flowing simple light purple dress making her look like a fairy. Her long white hair looking silver strands reaching her waste.
She decided to let her roommate take a ship to the true North. She is in a hury and will not be delayed a moment longer.
Drogo came to her room running and crashed into her legs crying "Mama.."
Olivia's heart broke hearing the sad sniffles from her beautiful son. Lifting him into her arms, she held him tight feeling his shaking form. She wonders what happened to her usually sensible son? Did someone say something that made him feel insecure?
She will need to reassure him for now, so all her plans moved back several months in order to spend time with her child.
"Okay baby calm down. Mommy is not going anywhere."
"Lair! You left Rogo alone. Mom is bad." His eyes looked at her with accusation and sadness pulling at her heart strings.
Olivia took out a toy she had managed to make for him. "Look, mommy made a wooden horse for her obedient son. Are you mommies obedient son?" Olivia blinked taking out a wooden transporter with one frontal wheel and two wheels on the back of a small carrier.
The way to use it is to paddle the sides and the whole thing will move according to the driver's directions as they steer the two hadles.
Olivia's kingdom has smooth grounds cor the wheels to travel smoothly. She took him outside and spent time teaching him how to use it to get around the city faster.
The design will be handed over to her assistants to mass produce and sell them. The kingdom is still building housing and several minor lords castles all over the lands the roads are not close to being built.
But with the in flux of labour from the rest of the kingdoms and the abundance of materials the various constructions will be completed soon.
Olivia spent the entire day comforting Rogo sending her spirit power into his own, she realized that dark aura is no longer docile which may have been caused by his restlessness or it may have caused his restlessness.
"Promise Rogo you won't leave!" He asked but Olivia became stunned because he asked her in Dothraki tongue.
"When did you learn?" She aske him but he stubbornly showed him his chubby pinky so she can make the promise to him. His large brown eyes gleaming with unshed tears. She relented and made a promise.
They enjoyed themselves with the new toy so much so that even when he was slepy, he still wanted to play. Finally Olivia convinced him to go take a bath with her. He reluctantly got of the leather seat and stumbled toward his mother.
The next couple of days Olivia took Rogo to pre school and fetched him at midday. Then she would take him on her errands around the kingdom but on this day she heard an amusing piece of news. 6 of her dukes took arms against the iron Island.
"The islands had less than a third of the attacking forces so they surrendered." Bree reported.
"And?" She knows there's more.
"The nobles and other powerful people in the Island have been turned into mining slaves and made to work in the mines while the former slaves were released." Bree continued while she studied her expression to see if her Mistress is upset by this decision.
"Hahaha...good." Bree is taken aback by this burst of delight from her Mistress.
Olivia didn't have any more questions. Currently she needs to ensure the schools of the kingdom open on time the following year. Bree has compliled a teaching technique and materials from the Citadel and some materials studied by princes across the narrow seas.
Olivia wants all the students to be studying real knowledge including finance and investments. The scholar castle has been overwhelmed with work as much as the medical castle with all the hospitals suddenly in need of working staff it is very demanding.
The second thing she focused on is the orphanages. By now, many of the needy people in Westeros have moved here especially the children who were orphaned by the war of five kings.
Each of the three orphanages have filled a third of their overall capacity. This is because they can house thousands of children. Olivia visited them to see the place for herself.
There is a uniform for guards, cooks and cleaners and seeing everyone working in their stations wearing them makes the place seem cleaner. Children playing in the play ground, others on the chairs around the garden because even though it is cold outside, the concrete in the orphanage has warm stone.
Olivia is thrilled to see the vibrant life of the children so she went to the public hospitals for inspection. She would add materials now that she found out with the four elements she can now created materials directly from grass and plants without spells or hard work in the factory.
She made several white sheets and pillowcases, gloves and plastic containers instead of always using glass for storages. These were stored in each hospital's warehouse.
Seeing the lack of mattresses for the beds in the hospital. She made soft wood from the trees outside. These may last for over a century in quality. The orphanages are not different even though in the beginning there was a mattress for each room, Olivia decided to made extra soft wood chairs and beds storing them in the warehouse.
The children in the orphanages will be sent to the public schools when the new year starts. They already have several sets of uniforms and teachers were bought from overseas while others were from the seven kingdoms.
While the rest of the kingdom will be building their small cities, residents areas for these cities, castles for minor lords and small folk family housing of two to three stories building, the orphans and children will be going to school.
The baording school is undergoing employment for librarians, teachers and caretakers. The initial construction of the place had required no effort from the grand duke now he is ensuring maximum efficiency for what is required of him.
Olivia's peaceful life continued like this and Rogo's shaky spirit finally calm down. Olivia breath a sigh of relief. She really wanted to start his treatment but he needs to be a bit older than his current age to pull it off without making a mistake.
One day, she heard from Bree there is a fleet of ships approaching Dragon stone, Aegon looking to face the in coming ships with a home advantage. Tension is high Aegon's army is waiting with large scorpion weapons that can take down a dragon.
The agression is obvious Olivia called on Aeryn to come over with Morpheus. She rode Morpheus and waited in the nearby mountains. Olivia has not met with Aeryn's new rider yet but Aeryn had promised her all those years ago that she will be more than a tool for destruction.
Her dragons are so large they attract the attention from everyone nearby. This is exactly what she wanted. These two fools must not waste men on each other but instead point their power towards everyone else.
One is her aunt the other a fool. Olivia doesn't want Deanerys to be welcomed my blood as soon as she arrives home.
The fleet of one Deanerys Stormborn finally came with in visible distance to the castle.
Deanerys on her dragon. Olivia can feel what she is about to do. Show her might by burning Aegon's army to ashes as soon as she came back. This will serve as a deterrent for everyone else but the small folk will undoubtedly fear her, this might have been a good I dea when she was butchering slave masters but here it is known as madness.
She is still in the air when dragon roars sounded in the sky and two massive dragons materialized on each of her side with two girls riding them.
Two more dragons flew in front of Deanerys as if to warn Morph to not harm their mother. An explosive magic aura bursted out of Morph making all the other dragons uncomfortable including Aeryn.
A conversation took place between the dragons that Olivia and the others couldn't hear the three kept roaring lowly and Morpheus also responded. The one riden by Deanerys opened its large snout about to release fire but Morph appeared right in front of it in a blink of and growled some more.
Now closer to each other, Olivia looked at the upset little aunt and smiled in greeting. "Yo aunty, I have missed you so much, all these days without glancing at your graceful figure has made my days gloomy."
"I am not your aunty!" The dragon queen seemed livid.
"I know, you are my little aunt." Olivia showed her a toothy grin.
"What is the meaning of this welcome?" Deanerys almost rolled her eyes at Olivia's overly familiar behavior.
"It was the dragons, they are fighting over whose scales are more majestic and who has the most intimidating glare." Olivia sounded helpless. She heard her companion chuckle on the side.
"I don't believe you." Deanerys had an uneasy feeling after seeing how different these other dragons were from hers. They give off an unrealistic amount of pressure.
"Okay, I may have suggested intimidating you with the size and might of my children." She shrugs and admitted then she turned to Shireen "Do you think it worked? Does she look intimidated?" Olivia asked Shireen but heard Deanerys exasperated sigh.
"She is right here." Deanerys didn't know whether to laugh or get mad at this person.
The dragons descended and allowed the three people to come down from their backs before they rode off to a distant mountain. Deanerys looked at the two girls and felt a peng of jealousy after seeing the magnificence of their dragons. But she loves her own dragons no matter what.
Looking at Olivia, she sneered in destain. "I hear you think yourself Rhaegar's child?"
"What's with that ugly expression on your face little aunt? Shouldn't you embrace your brother's baby with love and care?" Olivia asked unconcerned about the dangerous look on the other girls face.
Just as Deanerys is about to say something to show her dominance, Olivia hugged her tightly. "Welcome back home." She said.
Deanerys is momentarily dazed by the sincerity in Olivia's voice. Does she mean it? In fact Deanerys would much rather be friends with Olivia because she heard before coming back that the girl has no interest in the iron throne.
Regardless of who she is thought to be, Olivia never showed her hostility. In fact it always felt like she is joking and having a laugh as if she doesn't take Deanerys seriously at all. Knowing how dangerous and truly powerful this woman is being friendly even if it is just on the outside is better than being enemies especially after seeing the size of her dragons.
Slowly and hesitantly Deanerys hugged Olivia back. Although her hug is full of doubts Olivia is very happy by this action and pulled Shireen over.
"This is Shireen who recently became the rider of Aeryn my white dragon." Shireen did a curtsey and introduced herself formally also welcoming Deanerys back.
Danny's eyes twitched at them for the audacity to say 'welcome' to her. This is her home, who are they to welcome her into her own house?
She swallowed the questions threatening to spill over and instead said something else. "Are we friends? The three of us?" She asked but Olivia jumped with an exaggerated expression.
"Absolutely not! You are my little aunt. My family." She blinked at Deanerys. "Don't you adore your niece? Aren't I the cutest niece you have ever had?" Olivia's usually stoic expression is now frowning asking her aunt with clear displeasure.
"No. What say you Lady Shireen?" The dragon queen asked sharply looking straight at Shireen. There is tension in the air but no one spoke for a long time.
Olivia finally stopped her antics and spoke. "Don't try to intimidate the child she is just a rider not a politician. If you wish for an alliance with house Baratheon invite her father for a good chat." Olivia is still close to Deanerys playing with the silver locks hanging by the sides of Danny's face.
"Why is it you who is speaking on her behalf? She is a dragon rider, something that has not happened in a hundred years and you are dismissing her significance with a single sentence? You are too naive or is it me you believe to be naive?" Deanerys speech touched Shireen deeply.
"Fine." Olivia gave up protecting Shireen lest she be seen as over bearing.
"Are we friends Shireen Baratheon?" Her question came again and Shireen answered with a nod.
"Yes."
"Then am I your queen Shireen Baratheon?"
"My apologies but the Stormlands are abstaining from conflict. Please excuse us." She said her eyes seemingly stern. Olivia found it peculiar that with just a dragon an entire kingdom had been broken and bruised but now they are standing taller than ever.
"Then please rely my message to your father. I give him a week to come and offer his sincere apology for what conspired here all those years ago and bend the knee." She turned to pull Olivia towards the castle.
