Is It Wrong to Abusing Cartoon Tropes in Dungeon?

Chapter 27: 27 First Time!

After leaving the school, the range of actions for Altair's squad expanded significantly. The number of zombies in open areas was relatively higher, but as long as the area was spacious enough, the car could move more flexibly.

However, reality was different from what Altair had imagined, especially when compared to what he had seen in anime.

"Why is this road so narrow?"

"But it's always been like this here."

"Alright, guess I was too idealistic again."

Altair looked at the congested road ahead, helplessly rubbing his forehead in frustration. It was really irritating. In anime, Takashi and his companions would drive on wide, empty roads. But now, in front of him, this road, including both lanes, was barely a dual carriageway. There wasn't even a lane for non-motorized vehicles. There was a sidewalk, but it was separated from the motor vehicle lane by a railing, and the width was not ideal either.

'My goodness, don't they ever experience traffic jams on such roads? Don't they feel cramped? One accident and the whole road would be blocked!

Damn, anime isn't like this!'

Altair could only complain internally. Anime and reality were different, and Japan's actual roads were just like this. Except for a few main roads and some highways, most of them were at best dual carriageways.

Now, as Altair drove, the situation was such that many cars that had crashed due to the zombie outbreak were abandoned on the side of the road. Additionally, some cars had been parked there before, making it impossible to maintain a proper speed. He had to constantly swerve left and right to avoid the vehicles.

It wasn't that Altair didn't want to just ram through them, but the problem was that this was a small car. While such cars had their advantages... lightweight, low fuel consumption... the downside was that they were as fragile as paper. Just a little bump, and they'd shatter.

"Shizuka, where is Rika Minami's house?"

"Huh? Rika-chan? Altair-chan, do you know her too?"

"No, I don't. But we need to go to her place first."

Altair remembered that her home had a Humvee M1025, an imported vehicle from the U.S. When it came to ramming capabilities, it wasn't even in the same league as this small car. The power difference was night and day, and of course, so was the fuel consumption.

However, as long as they could find a gas station and stockpile some fuel in the trunk, driving a few thousand miles would be no problem. Japan wasn't that big anyway, and a few thousand miles would be more than enough.

"Quick, give me directions."

"Okay… I think... turn left at the next intersection!"

Following Altair's instructions, Shizuka started giving directions. The road conditions were poor, so it took twenty minutes for Altair to finally reach Minami's villa. Along the way, they encountered quite a few zombies, but Altair ignored them, slamming the accelerator and crashing into any that stood in his way, determined to reach his destination as soon as possible. Consequently, many zombies were knocked aside.

Slamming on the brakes, Altair stopped the car abruptly without bothering to disengage the clutch, causing the engine to stall.

"Alright, get out!"

Altair kicked the door open and quickly got out of the car.

"My car door…"

Shizuka stared in horror at the door Altair had just kicked open.

"This car is done for."

"No! I haven't even finished paying off the loan yet!"

"You don't need to worry about that anymore."

"Well… okay."

Altair shook his head speechlessly as he looked at Shizuka. She was too naive and clueless.

The car was basically totaled at this point. The front was caved in from crashing into too many zombies, and hoping someone could repair it was pointless... it was a write-off.

Today, who knows how many cars will be scrapped in this world? And how many would become ownerless? Finding a good car wouldn't be hard; they were everywhere, especially in stores where there would be tons of high-end vehicles.

But those cars were useless in this apocalyptic world now.

"Saeko, you take Shizuka inside. Once you're in, close the gate. I'll deal with the zombies coming because of the noise."

Minami's villa had its own walls, and inside the garage was the Humvee.

"Got it, I'll take the teacher inside."

Saeko nodded at Altair, obediently following his orders. She grabbed Shizuka, who had just gotten out of the car and led her into the yard.

After watching the two enter the yard, Altair was finally free. With no one around and plenty of zombies nearby, things were about to get fun.

Raising his hand, Altair reached into the air and pulled out another lightsaber hilt from his dimensional pocket.

"Alright, now, let me enjoy the thrill of a hack-and-slash game."

The villa itself was safe, but outside it, not so much. Altair needed to clear the surrounding area to ensure there wasn't a single zombie left nearby.

Especially those zombies that had been attracted by the sound of the car... he had to deal with them all.

At this moment, a skill Altair had never used before would prove to be his most convenient.

First, he found a convenience store and gathered some supplies and essential items. Then, Altair took out a loudspeaker, climbed onto the roof of a car, and yelled down the street where the zombies were thickest.

"Come, everyone! Fresh human meat right here, and it can sing, dance, rap, and play basketball. Come check it out!"

His shout, amplified by the loudspeaker, echoed down two whole streets, attracting zombies from all directions. Their howls spread, drawing in more from the distance. Once they sensed movement, they all started moving together.

And that's exactly what Altair was waiting for.

"When I play games, my favorite thing is watching my teammates gather minions for me!"

Holding the loudspeaker and watching the approaching zombie horde, Altair grinned to himself.

"Because when I go in for the kill, I can unleash my ultimate and clean them all up!"

Facing the zombies charging toward him, Altair took a deep breath.

A surge of heat gathered in his mouth, and then he exhaled forcefully.

Scorching flames spewed from his mouth, forming a fan-shaped firestorm that engulfed the zombies at the front. The intense heatwave blasted through them, knocking them all down.

This was... the Bear Power!
