On top of the clock tower stood a young woman dressed in a black and white spider suit.

"Hey, big guy, want to play with me?" Ghost Spider, Gwen, taunted Abomination with a smirk and a provocative finger, before shooting a web and swinging away.

"Roar!!"

Abomination bellowed, ignored the American soldiers, and launched itself like a missile toward the clock tower! As its massive weight landed, the ground splintered, and Abomination vaulted straight up after Gwen, who was now weaving through the buildings with her spider silk.

Meanwhile, an American soldier nearby gaped in shock, only snapping out of it when a young man's voice spoke beside him, "Hey, uncle, maybe take this chance to get out of here?"

The soldier turned toward the sound, but saw nothing but smoldering rubble. He shook his head, finally regaining his senses, and staggered away from the chaotic scene.

In a nearby building that had been evacuated, a silver-haired young man with a round shield on his back and a long sword at his side watched from the windowsill—it was Mike. He sighed, uncertain why he'd decided to follow Gwen back into the danger zone, especially since he'd already started to leave the city.

In his mind, however, he couldn't ignore the fearless girl who had charged into the battlefield alone.

"It's not like I even know her…"

"Forget it." Mike muttered, resigned. Since he was already here, he might as well see it through. Tightening his grip on his sword, he leaped from the windowsill to the top floor of the church across the street, crouching low behind the ledge. From there, he watched the battle unfold.

Gwen seemed aware that she couldn't face Abomination directly. Instead, she swung along abandoned streets, her agile form darting between buildings, using narrow alleys and windows just wide enough for her.

Even so, Abomination kept closing the gap, its relentless pursuit relentless.

The monster smashed through obstacles with brute force, destroying anything in its path as it charged forward!

Boom!!

Once more, it rocketed forward, this time landing on the building ahead of Gwen and smashing through the wall. It hung off the eaves, reaching out to grab her as she swung by. At the last moment, Gwen twisted back with her spider silk, barely evading its enormous hand. Her white hood, however, wasn't as lucky—it was shredded in the beast's grip.

"Roar!" Enraged, Abomination continued its pursuit as Gwen disappeared down another narrow alley.

"Close call." Mike whispered to himself, watching from his vantage point. He realized that Gwen wasn't just fleeing; she was intentionally leading Abomination into areas where her traps could be more effective.

A faint smile tugged at Mike's lips. Smart girl.

The narrow walls of the alley cracked under Abomination's weight as it plowed through. Dust billowed in the air as the monster thundered into another alley, but this time it charged headlong into a massive spider web trap, anchored tightly to the surrounding buildings. Nearly a hundred strands of reinforced silk crisscrossed the exit, forming an inescapable snare!

Driven by fury, Abomination slammed right into the web, its momentum bringing it to a staggering halt.

"Now!" Mike murmured, recognizing Gwen's plan unfolding. She swung around quickly, shooting webs to bind Abomination's head and limbs. With precise aim, she anchored the ends to nearby buildings, wrapping him into a colossal cocoon.

For about five seconds, the monster struggled, but Gwen had woven the silk thickly around its body, sealing its face and limbs completely, trapping it within the buildings.

"Impressive. I underestimated her." Mike admitted, watching her from his perch. Exhausted, Gwen finally relaxed, slumping down on the ledge of a nearby building.

Thinking she was alone, she pulled the bottom of her mask slightly upward, revealing the delicate chin, small mouth, and fine nose of a young woman catching her breath.

"No way." Mike felt a shiver run through him. Even with only half her face visible, Ghost Spider looked uncannily like someone he knew.

---

As the night deepened, the coffee shop began to fill up.

While sipping coffee or tea, several patrons—men and women alike—couldn't help but steal glances toward a stunning woman seated in the corner. Her commanding presence discouraged anyone from approaching, though they were clearly drawn to her.

Diana, who looked like an ethereal figure out of place in the modern café, stood from her seat and addressed Barbara across the table.

"That's all I wanted to discuss. I should go; it's late, and my… child at home will be worried."

"Wait, child?"

Around the café, several cups clattered to the floor. The hopeful patrons nearby who had been eying her suddenly deflated at the revelation, looking crestfallen.

Barbara, too, was startled by the term, but it confirmed something about Mike's place in Diana's life.

It was unimaginable, really—that a goddess would choose to build a family with a human.

After a pause, Barbara gazed at her friend, whispering, "You can't keep this from him forever."

Diana's flawless features softened as she smiled faintly, "When he turns eighteen and becomes an adult, I'll tell him everything he wants to know. But until then, no one will disrupt his life."

Her eyes briefly flashed with an icy resolve before she strode from the coffee shop with unspoken determination.

"He's just an ordinary human boy." Barbara muttered, disbelief still lingering, "Mike Prince… how did you manage to captivate a goddess?"

Outside, Diana gazed up at the snow fluttering in the dark sky.

Was Mike at home, bent over his homework, or maybe lounging on the sofa watching TV? Or was he already asleep, bundled up in bed?

Her heart ached unexpectedly. She wanted to see him, to feel the warmth of his embrace like all the other simple, quiet moments they'd shared.

"I'm afraid, too." She murmured to herself, catching a snowflake in her palm and shivering at its coldness.

That morning, she'd learned Barbara had shown Mike some of her old photos from the First World War. Though Mike had seemed nervous, Diana had found herself feeling just as frightened.

Would he see her as a monster after learning she was ageless, that she had lived for centuries? Would he grow distant?

So, Diana had kept her identity as Wonder Woman a secret.

With that thought, she picked up her bag from a food stall and headed back to the apartment building. But as she neared, her gut tightened at the sight of police cars and officers patrolling outside.

She quickly entered the building, taking the elevator up, and unlocked the door to her apartment. A gust of cold wind swept in from the shattered balcony doors, ruffling her dark hair as she took in the scene.

Furniture lay overturned and broken, and cracks marred the floor. And, from her vantage point, she noticed something worse: her armor and weapons—the Starlight Crown, the Guardian Silver Bracelet, the Sword of Vulcan, the Divine Shield, and the Lasso of Truth—were all gone.

Her fingers curled into fists, and her eyes turned icy.

-----

On the other side of town, Mike lay on the top of the church, processing what he'd seen. The face beneath the mask—it looked like his childhood friend, Gwen Stacy.

But her voice was different.

"Could it be just a resemblance?" Before he could think further, a sound drew his attention back to the fight below.

The monstrous Abomination, in its struggle, snapped a few of Gwen's webs. The building she was perched on buckled as the webs gave way, causing her to tumble mid-air. Before she could regain her balance, Abomination's green hand burst through the web cocoon and snatched her mid-fall, trapping her arms at her sides.

"Let me go!" Gwen struggled, but the monster's grip didn't falter.

The hulking creature sneered, clearly intending to crush her.

Gwen's vision began to blur, her strength fading as her legs dangled helplessly. Just before darkness overtook her, a single thought crossed her mind:

'Is this the end? I still haven't worn that white wedding dress…'

Gwen thought reluctantly, and then her vision went dark as she passed out.

In the final moment before losing consciousness, she heard the most familiar voice, ringing out as if from a dream.

"Let her go!"

A flash of silver light appeared, splitting the inky night and the crimson flames above into two.

Abomination was completely unprepared for a sneak attack at that moment. Even if he had seen it coming, he wouldn't have cared. After all, not even weapons like rocket launchers could break through his defenses—let alone a mere sword. He allowed the tip of the blade to grow larger in the reflection of his eyes.

But this time, he was wrong.

Swoosh!

The retro sword broke through his tough eyelid, shattering his right eye as the blade sank deep into his eye socket!

How was this possible?

Abomination froze, his remaining eye widening as he stared at the silver-haired boy who dropped from the sky onto his arms.

"I'm curious. Monster, do you feel pain?"

Perhaps due to the divine power he inherited, Mike's face remained calm, void of any emotion.

But it was this eerie calmness that revealed his fierce anger in that moment.

"Do monsters feel pain?"

Mike, dressed in warrior's armor, asked in a detached tone as he stepped on Abomination's raised arms, gripping the retro sword firmly with both hands to drive the blade even deeper into the creature's eye socket.

"ROOOAARR!"

Screaming in agony as his right eye was pierced, Abomination finally released his grip on Ghost Spider.

As Gwen's unconscious form began to fall toward the shattered ground, Mike swiftly withdrew his sword, causing a spray of foul, green blood. He reached back with his left hand, wrapped it around Ghost Spider's slender waist, and dashed out of the smoke-filled city at breakneck speed!

Moments later, as he and Ghost Spider escaped dozens of meters away, Abomination stood in place, clutching his bleeding eye socket and bellowing in rage like a volcano on the verge of eruption.

The sharp, terrifying roar practically formed a tangible sound wave, shaking the air within a hundred meters and forcing the surrounding flames to retreat from his rage. Countless windows shattered from the deafening sound, and abandoned cars on the streets blared their alarms in response!

This time, the wounded Abomination was truly furious!

Before Mike and Ghost Spider could flee more than a hundred meters, something hurtled toward them from behind. Glancing back, Mike saw a military four-wheel drive vehicle spiraling through the night sky toward them.

And it wasn't alone.

In addition to the military vehicle, Abomination had flung taxis, vans, and even a massive bus.

Four or five vehicles hurtled down like meteorites from the heavens, packing immense destructive force.

Clutching Ghost Spider in his arms, Mike held his sword steady and leapt forward, dodging one vehicle after another.

The vehicles crashed to the ground with thunderous bangs, sparks and debris scattering everywhere before erupting into flames!

After narrowly dodging a third van that rolled by his shoulder, Mike found his space to maneuver shrinking rapidly. He barely had time to catch his breath before a bus, sirens wailing, came crashing down toward him.

The shadow of the bus loomed over Mike and Ghost Spider, blocking all escape routes.

In that instant, Mike, his mind under divine control, was unnervingly calm. He came to an abrupt halt with Ghost Spider held tightly in one arm, his feet digging two trenches into the ground as he braced himself. Taking a deep breath, he swung his retro sword with all his might at the oncoming bus.

Slash!!

Air, smoke, dust, and fire—everything within three meters in front of him was split in two!

The bus itself was cleaved in half by Mike's powerful strike. The metal at the cut was as smooth as a mirror. The two halves of the bus rolled away on either side, crashing down in flames as piles of twisted metal and debris.
