She hooked her feet around Mike's throat, pulling back with all her might as her petite body twisted and struggled.

"!!!" Mike's eyes suddenly widened.

Due to Spider-Woman's intense pulling and constant struggle, his body began shifting backward. Initially, he was just sitting on her back, but now, Mike found himself on a much softer, higher-grade "seat."

Mike felt flustered as she was wearing a short skirt.

Gwen was completely unaware of the situation. She noticed Mike's momentary stiffness and mistakenly thought he was beginning to weaken, so she twisted and struggled even more vigorously.

The Spider uniform's quality was undoubtedly durable, but designed with outdoor action and breathability in mind, it was even thinner than regular jackets and jeans. This thinness couldn't fully hide her perfectly curved form.

And her movements were increasingly intense...

'Not good.' Mike thought inwardly, unsure if this was enjoyment or torture. The hot blood in his body, already racing, began flowing downward.

"What...?" Gwen finally sensed something amiss. She felt an unidentified object pressing against her from beneath her skirt, only separated by the thin layer of her spider uniform.

Mike quickly released her left ankle, grabbed the remaining spider silk next to him, and used it like a rope to wrap around Ghost Spider's wrists, securing the small foot hooked around his neck as well.

He worked swiftly.

Mike then jumped off Ghost Spider, pulled the retro longsword nailed to the iron gate, and leaped toward the tall building across the street without a backward glance.

Maybe it was luck, or perhaps the night's events had sharpened his control over his newfound abilities.

This time, Mike flawlessly managed his jump, soaring over 20 meters and landing precisely on the water tower of the building opposite. After a few more sprints and leaps, his figure, shield in hand, disappeared into the snow-filled night sky.

Ten seconds later...

"That bastard! I'm going to kill him!"

"Where is he? Come out!"

After breaking free from the spider silk binding her, Gwen's face burned with both embarrassment and fury beneath her mask. Her black-and-white suit seemed ready to ignite as she started swinging madly between the tall buildings.

Even from half a street away, Mike could hear her angry shouts behind him.

"You can't blame me for this." Mike muttered, smiling bitterly. Glancing down at her noticeably creased skirt, he quickly found a shadowy corner on the top floor of a building to hide.

After a while, Ghost Spider swung on the spider silk from a nearby tall building and quickly flew away.

"This time, I can finally go home."

With his clothes back to normal, Mike let out a breath and walked out from the shadow of the building, sword in hand.

He looked around.

Through the nearby iconic buildings, Mike quickly confirmed that he was at the junction of the inner and outer city areas of Washington, more than ten kilometers away from his home downtown.

God knows how he got here.

"Do I have to jump back?" Mike felt a bit helpless, but there wasn't much he could do. Just as he was about to head home, something unexpected happened!

Boom!

The building where Mike was standing suddenly shook.

"What's going on?" At first, Mike thought it was just his imagination, but a moment later, the building beneath him trembled noticeably again!

Mike quickly looked at the surrounding buildings.

Not just his building, but all the nearby high-rises were shaking visibly!

An earthquake?

As soon as this thought crossed Mike's mind, he dismissed it.

No.

His heightened senses and awareness now surpassed human limits, allowing him to perceive things beyond normal human understanding. This tremor didn't seem to originate from beneath the city's surface; it felt more like it was coming from something on the surface in a specific part of the urban area!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Every few seconds, the ground and buildings around him trembled, as if a giant hammer was pounding the earth with incredible force!

"It's not far from here." Mike muttered, standing on the rooftop, looking down at the city streets below.

As if to confirm his suspicions—

Boom!

In Mike's view, a building about two or three kilometers away suddenly collapsed with a loud crash!

The peace that had blanketed the city under the winter night shattered, disrupted by some unknown, horrifying force!

And this was just the beginning.

BANG! BANG! BANG!!!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A deafening onslaught of gunfire and explosions rang out, as intense as a thunderstorm in summer, erupting from the area where the building had collapsed.

Flames shot into the sky, spreading quickly in all directions, engulfing nearby streets and darkening the city sky.

"Roar—!"

From within the hellish scene in the city, a terrifying roar echoed. It was a sound that clearly didn't belong to any human or animal, and it overpowered even the intense barrage of modern weaponry!

"What kind of creature is that?"

Mike's eyes widened, looking toward the heart of the fire and smoke in the city, catching a glimpse of a massive green figure, as if he were glimpsing the hidden reality of this world!

The hidden side of the world—where things shrouded in darkness, beyond the understanding of ordinary people, come to life.

This realm includes things far from ordinary human experience, intricately connected to the extraordinary. Superhero movies are just a reflection of it. After all, the current world is a fusion of Marvel and DC.

But Mike, who had lived in this world for sixteen years since his reincarnation, knew only what he had read in his history books: the story of the first superhero, Captain America, the tales of Gotham's Dark Knight, Batman, who had battled evil for decades.

A year and a half ago, a billionaire named Stark created the Iron Man suit, establishing himself as New York's tech overlord.

Then, a year ago, Superman, an alien raised on Earth, repelled a Kryptonian invasion, earning him the title "God on Earth."

Despite the overwhelming media coverage and daily gossip about superheroes, all of it felt distant to Mike.

It was like in his previous life, when he heard news of wars on the other side of the world—vague, unreal, and difficult to relate to.

The gap between ordinary humans and the supernatural was far wider than the gap between slaves and aristocrats in ancient times.

After all, even with the saying, "The rich rely on technology, the poor rely on mutation," it was exceedingly rare to transcend human limits and become extraordinary.

Mike had given up on the dream of becoming extraordinary long ago and had grown used to the life of an ordinary person.

Until tonight.

First, he accidentally acquired incredible powers from his aunt, then encountered Ghost Spider outside the city, and now he was witnessing a green monster engaged in fierce combat with an elite army.

For the first time, he felt like he had truly glimpsed, and even stepped a foot into, the hidden side of this world.

"So, this city I've lived in hides so many extraordinary things?" Mike muttered, feeling as if his worldview had been completely overturned.

But when he thought about his aunt, who was the most extraordinary person he knew, the situation didn't seem quite as overwhelming. Or maybe it did.

Mike watched in shock as the battle raged in the nearby city. Buildings were collapsing, artillery fire was sweeping across the streets, and even the winter frost evaporated before touching the ground. Bullet casings and rubble replaced snowflakes, scattering across the streets.

But the human army was at a clear disadvantage!

At the battle's heart, the barrel of a Gatling gun on a military vehicle spewed flames, sending a storm of bullets into the flames and smoke. There, a massive green monster over two meters tall, with muscles like steel plates and bony protrusions, fought on, clothed only in large shorts.

It was terror incarnate.

Just looking at it sent chills down anyone's spine.

This creature had a name fitting for its monstrous nature—

Abomination!

Despite the hail of bullets, Abomination moved swiftly among the ruins, with agility that defied its size, demonstrating earth-shattering strength with each move!

It broke the ground, smashed walls, and ignored bullets that couldn't pierce its skin. Leaping onto a military vehicle, it crushed both the soldiers and the vehicle underfoot, picked up an abandoned taxi as if it were a toy, and threw it twenty or thirty meters, hitting another military vehicle packed with soldiers.

Cars seemed like toys in its hands!

Boom!

A rocket launcher was fired, trailing flames as it shot toward Abomination. It raised its arms to block, and the explosion engulfed it, shattering windows on nearby buildings.

Yet, to the soldiers' horror, the flames cleared, revealing Abomination's monstrous face and intact body.

The massacre continued.

"Is that the Hulk?"

Mike frowned as he watched the scene from afar. Compared to most, his knowledge of the Hulk was extensive.

At least, he had once seen a Hulk movie poster when passing a cinema.

"But this one looks different. I remember the Hulk had hair and didn't look this hideous."

"Could it be like—an altered version?"

Mike didn't know how close he was to the truth.

Regardless, this green monster gave him an overwhelming sense of danger.

Although he wouldn't get hurt even if he fell from a dozen floors, against this creature… he could die.

His instincts told him: this creature was something to avoid at all costs!

"It's already late. I should just pretend I didn't see it and go home. My aunt would be worried."

Mike tore his gaze away, unwilling to witness the one-sided slaughter of the army any longer.

He had never aspired to be a superhero, only admired their powers.

As for "With great power comes great responsibility," Mike wasn't about to risk his life over it.

Having died once before, Mike valued his life immensely. In this life, he'd only risk himself for his aunt.

Gwen came in a distant second.

Mike made up his mind to leave, but just then, he saw a familiar figure swinging on spider silk through the high-rise buildings, heading toward the city battleground two kilometers away.

It was Ghost Spider, the one he had met on the rooftop.

"Don't go there!" Mike's heart skipped a beat. From their brief encounter, he knew Ghost Spider was no match for Abomination!

The difference in power was immense!

But it was too late to stop her.

Mike could only watch as Ghost Spider ventured deeper into the war-torn city.

"I'm sorry. I only have one life, and I can only spend it on those two people at most."

Mike gritted his teeth, deciding not to watch further, and turned to leap away from the battlefield.

---

In less than ten minutes, the modern, well-armed American military was decimated by Abomination. Amid human screams and raging flames, a once-thriving city corner became a scene from hell.

Abomination stood, a monster born to kill, atop a flattened vehicle soaked in blood. It examined its own clenched fists, relishing the immense power within, a mad, satisfied grin twisting its features.

"Don't, please don't kill me..."

The last American soldier standing dropped his gun, collapsing to his knees in terror. Everything he believed in seemed shattered in the face of this incomprehensible monster.

Abomination smirked at him, savoring his fear. Taking slow, deathly steps forward, the ground trembled with each step.

Just as Abomination pondered how best to kill the soldier, a figure shot through the night sky, leaving a trail of fire.

Thwip! Thwip! Thwip!

Three webs shot from Ghost Spider's direction, sticking to Abomination's bald head. Abomination grunted, brushing the sticky webs from his head as he turned to face the broken clock tower where the webs had come from.
