Chapter 809 Sister in law
Rain flew back to the area and soon he found the warship leaving pretty fast for a ship of its size… engines powerful enough to move something like that shouldn't exist yet, so some people probably were using their magic to make it move.
As Rain got closer to the warship, his eyes trained on its looming silhouette, he noticed a flurry of golden arrows flying in his direction. Swiftly, he maneuvered through the air with ease, skillfully dodging the projectiles as they zipped past him. However, as he closed the distance, evading the relentless onslaught became increasingly challenging.
The speed and number of the golden arrows escalated—it was clear that Asche possessed an incredible rapid-fire capability developed in the last one hundred years, launching an astounding ten projectiles per second and they were powerful too.
Rain's agile maneuvers were tested as the sheer volume of incoming arrows made it a daunting task to evade each one unscathed. Despite his skill, the situation grew more difficult with every passing moment as the onslaught of golden arrows intensified.
"Asche… even if you are my sister in law, I can't let this slide," Rain furrowed his eyebrows. "Perhaps she is pissed because she was forced to hear my kids call her auntie for one hundred years."
As Rain prepared to face the attacks, a thought passed through his mind. It would have been simpler to prove his identity if he possessed his relics. However, he lost all of them when the meteors hit him, leaving him devoid of these key identifiers. Nonetheless, Rain assumed his fighting style, drawing upon it as he adjusted his stance in the air, readying himself for whatever lay ahead.
Rain increased his speed and then summoned the giant ice arms… when the first projectile approached, Rain punched it with all his might. The shockwave of the attack made a hole appear on the ocean below, even though it only lasted for a second, it had been something else.

The impact slowed Rain down a bit and he clicked his tongue… Asche obtained a lot f power if she could fire ten of those every single second. That attack power wasn't even considering the effect of the bow… with that in mind, Rain had to be cautious. If she fired one arrow with all her power… Rain would be in a bind.
After punching a few more arrows, Rain saw his giant ice arms cracking and thought of summoning the dark ice to make them harder… but soon he changed his mind.
"I can't use the same tools as the enemies… they have the advantage since they used it for hundreds of years," Rain thought. "I have to forge my own path."
Rain repaired the giant ice arms again and again, even after every arrow he blocked. Before long, others decided to welcome him as well…
In that intense moment, Rain found himself bombarded by a relentless onslaught of magical projectiles. The fiery spears crackled and blazed with intense heat, the ice spears glinted coldly as they sliced through the air, and the earth spears surged forward with an unyielding force. Their combined assault created a tumultuous wave of magic, a storm of elements intent on overwhelming him.
Each projectile carried its own unique threat, aimed at disrupting his defenses and bringing him down in a tempest of magical fury.
"Am I starting to think that I am not welcome here…" Rain thought.
Avoiding all those attacks was easier than blocking all the arrows, but some of them still landed on him when he blocked the golden arrows… At that point in time, Rain was starting to get pissed.
Rain could use the seals to increase his power, but he didn't want to kill or destroy anything, so he just landed on the ocean. His feet froze a small part of it and then Rain immediately used Impulse. Whenever he touched the ocean, it froze and then he used Impulse… he was so fast that no one was able to hit him anymore as he moved around the warship.
Eventually, the vessel stopped moving and the people inside it began to move toward the deck… as expected, Rain didn't recognize most of the people, and they didn't recognize him either… eventually, a tall woman with short hair and a golden bow appeared and glared at Rain… It was Asche, she decided to cut her hair and keep it short, but it was definitely her.
Asche, despite the passing years, appeared remarkably unchanged in her youthful appearance. The subtle but tangible effects of Transcendental Youth were evident in her perpetual youthfulness, leaving Rain to contemplate the true extent of its impact on her lifespan.
However, beneath her age-defying facade lay the telltale marks of battle—deep-seated scars that bore witness to the battles she had faced in the past. These scars, etched into her skin, served as enduring reminders of her resilience and tenacity, marks that Terra, her sister, could have easily healed with her potent restorative abilities… if she was there.
"I guess I am not going to ask if you believe that I am truly back," Rain said when he stopped in front of warship. "Grandpa and Grandma welcomed me the same way, they didn't try to kill me, though. So, you lost."
"Who the hell are you?" Asche asked.
"How many good looking men like me have you seen over the years?" Rain asked. "Let's see, you are 143 years old now, you hate to be called auntie. The last thing I said to you was that you need to work on your patience and the last thing you said to me was that it was annoying to wait for the enemies to make their move."
As Asche listened to Rain's words attempting to prove his identity, her initial suspicious and appearance softened slightly, it was almost impossible to notice it. However, despite her outward composure, a subtle furrow of her eyebrows betrayed a deeper inner conflict…
