Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 252: Raijin, the Lightning Dragon Evomon

Once it had the entirety of its length coiled around the two fierce fighters, the Evomon's cold, reptilian eyes bore down on them both. No ill intent was emitted just yet, but merely its neutral look was enough to make Yimin and Igor's souls tremble.

"Raijin," Cassius said, teleporting atop its head. "Bring up that one." He pointed to the frozen Wolf Deity.

The massive dragon heeded its Master's command and cast a spell that trapped Igor Volkov in a yarn ball of electricity. The ball of electricity then floated up by magical means and appeared in front of the man who looked like an ant standing atop a giant.

Cassius slowed down the rate he was moving, allowing both Igor and Yimin to think and move again.

"!!!!" Igor's expression drastically changed as his pupils dilated. "Where am I!?" he shouted. "Who are you!??"

Cassius didn't respond. He waved his hand and opened up the lightning yarn ball, then grabbed the air in front of him. Igor was similarly grabbed by an illusory red hand and brought forward against his will.

"What are yo—!?"

"Be quiet," Cassius commanded. "I'm going to check your memories for something of interest."

"No, you can't!" Igor wiggled and resisted as best he could, but to his extreme astonishment, he couldn't budge the illusory hand by the slightest bit.

'How is this possible!?? Who is this man!?? Where did he come from???'

While Cassius scanned through the Wolf Deity's memories, Yimin's eyes started to sparkle. She undid her Tyrant God transformation and leapt through the skies with her arms outstretched.

"Master~!!" she called out, her euphoria knowing no limits. "Yimin has missed you so, so much~!! Has Yimin saved you!?"

Cassius shifted his eyes away from the wolf-maned man screaming like a little girl because of the pain inflicted by the memory search. However, when Cassius saw the current charred and bloodied condition of his Yimin, his heart surged with hatred. He turned back to Igor and made sure he suffered as much as humanly possible while the memory search was ongoing.

Yet, once a soft body collided with his chest, his hatred-filled eyes softened considerably. He looked at the silver-haired girl affectionately rubbing herself on him. His expression emulated a mixture of both sadness and regret.

He could've made it in time if he ignored the appearance of that Apocalypse Gate. And yet… he chose not to.

Noticing his conflicted expression, the bloodied Yimin turned her cute face up from smothering herself in his scent. "Don't worry, Master! Yimin has saved you! Now we can be together," she said. "And don't worry, Yimin won't let you be taken away again. Master will be protected by Yimin, forever and ever!"

She then returned to snuggling with him. All her pain seemed to be replaced by a limitless level of joy.

Cassius, however, only became more conflicted. He sheathed Lilith into her scabbard before casting a green energy over the lovable dragon girl. Her injuries speedily healed, with all her burn marks slowly fading away. But even when her surface-level injuries had been completely healed by Diamond-ranked Healing Skills, there were still internal injuries that were unable to be healed so quickly.

A complicated look flashed by Cassius's bluish-red pupils as he gently caressed Yimin's soft silver hair.

"Is something the matter, Master?" Yimin asked, sensing his fluctuating emotions. "Did Yimin do something wrong…?" Your journey continues on My Virtual Library Empire

Cassius shook his head, a small smile forming. "You've done everything perfectly, my sweet Yimin. But it seems that yet another reason for going to the Sanctuary of Yggdrasil has appeared."

Yimin tilted her head, puzzled. "What is a Ygg…drazzil? Can we eat it?"

Cassius chuckled but didn't answer.

Yimin's cheeks puffed a little, yet she was too immersed in the cuddles and pets to retain an indignant thought for too long. She savored the moment, feeling that her rescue mission had been a great success—100% worth it!

Cassius, though, had just finished the memory extraction and thus no longer had a need for Igor.

Igor realized this, and it was this realization that caused his pupils to erratically dilate. As soon as the excruciating pain came to a halt, he tried to break free from the illusory hand wrapped around him. But with his meager strength, everything he did was considered futile.

He couldn't understand…

He couldn't understand how someone so powerful had appeared out of nowhere!

Was this the so-called 'Master' of the Silver Bullet Demon!?

But even if that was the case, he was the recognized #2 Hunter in the world! Within the Isolated Solar System, he was second only to the Ice Sovereign and the Invaders!!

'Wait!' he thought. 'Is this unknown man an Invader!? An Extraterrestrial!??'

Igor had sensed them as soon as he escaped the Ice Sovereign's Cage. Most of them were no stronger than the A-Rank, but there were a select few within a small island area that felt even more powerful than he was. They were terrifyingly strong!

'But this man…' Igor thought, fear strewn across his face. 'He doesn't feel anything like them… So then… What is he?'

"Tell me," said Cassius, his tone seeping into Igor's ears like permafrost. "This Isolated Solar System. This is the truth?"

The Wolf Deity didn't wish to answer but felt compelled to do so. He nodded.

Cassius deliberated, then sighed.

Igor assumed this sigh meant he had a chance of living.

But unfortunately for him, with a small movement of Cassius's index finger, Igor's head was sliced clean off. His eyes—still widened in disbelief—slid off with the rest of his head. His body limped, with no life signs present. However, before Igor's corpse could fall to the Moon's surface, Cassius and his two Growth Weapons absorbed his blood. It wasn't worth much, but something was better than nothing.

As for the husk that was left over after Igor was sucked dry, Cassius brought it up with telekinesis. Then he dropped it right next to the happily giggling Yimin. She was a bit annoyed by the distraction at first, but her snarl quickly subsided when she saw what it was. Her growling stomach practically lurched forward at the meal served before her. But even still, she waited for her Master's go-ahead.

A good girl, she was!
