The first few months of my new life can probably be skipped. At that time, I could hardly move my arms. It was as if my brain didn't even understand how to move this body yet. And, of course, I had no control over my body functions. I couldn't decide when to pee and when to poop, my body decided it by itself and immediately started to fulfil its needs. I didn't even eat completely on my own. My mum would just point her tit in my face and then everything would happen by itself, sucking would start reflexively. It was one of the few good things about my early childhood, though. In the sense that those breasts... well, it was embarrassing, but very pleasurable! So soft, yet firm, and quite large!

- Mhhh... Rudy... - She sighed sensuously.

Only, the girl said much more. But only my name I could make out in her speech. Yes, the language my new parents spoke was new to me. And so far the only thing I remembered were the words - Mum Zenith, Dad Paul, Rudy and Lily. Appropriately, Zenith and Paul are the names of my new parents, who were clearly happy to have a baby, and still very keen on each other. Lily is the name of the maid who lives with us in the house. And Rudy is short for my name, Rudeus. Although, I'm almost never called by my full name, I saw it in my status. But, in general, it seems that my parents are not poor people, since they can afford a maid.

As for the game system...

Actually, despite some obvious teasing, it gave out some very useful information as well. The Laplace factor, as it turns out, is some sort of innate feature that can be used to good effect, but I might not have learnt about it for a long time.

The Laplace factor

You have undergone a demon-god reincarnation spell, making your body like his. This is not enough for a Laplace rebirth, perhaps one of your descendants will achieve sufficient semblance. But by possessing a partial likeness to the demon-god, you gained an innate giftedness in magic. Learning any magical discipline will come easier to you, and your body has incredible magical potential.

But, even with these talents, it was as if the system was mocking me.

A great sorcerer

For over thirty years you have maintained your chastity and have become a warlock. Your magical potential has been increased, and your ability to learn magic has also been improved.

It's a humiliating talent. And, it wasn't just that the system was trampling on my feelings. It was also about the effects.

Marshal of Solitude

Until your status as an unkissed virgin is denigrated by knowingly kissing a girl other than your mum, you cannot change your play class

Magical Progression

Until you reach the age of ten, your mana supply will increase by an amount equal to the mana spent each day.

It's likely that magic exists in this world. And, if this effect is true, then I should start practising as early as possible. It's true that I don't know any spells, but I can't even read. And it's not even a fact that magic in this world works in the form of spells. And, about the marshal... apparently, this status was related to the talent of a spellcaster and my game class.

Virginal level 31.

For each new level, you gain nothing but nervousness and a sense of inferiority. But when you reach level 30, a special achievement will be gained. You better change your class!

I'm pretty sure the system is run by some troll.

Plus, it sets some weird conditions. In order to level up properly and usefully, you have to change class. And to do that, I have to kiss a girl. Even though I'm a baby. That's awesome! But at least I can get skills and probably upgrade them. Also, if I can figure out magic and find a way to conjure, my mana supply will skyrocket. Though, as it is, I don't really feel any mana at all. Maybe this system is a glitch.

But still, it's better to take it for granted for now.

Especially since it's already started giving me some tasks. For this purpose, a tab with tasks appeared in the mental interface near the status window.

First steps

Learn to walk

Reward: Unlock the inventory function

Word gold

Learn to speak

Reward: Unlock the scan function

Education

Learn to read and write

Reward: Unlocks the reputation function

Getting some extra rewards for things like this isn't a bad thing. It's more like some sort of training programme though.

But, I really had to re-learn how to walk and talk. And the skill of reading and writing is very useful in life. So, when I had some control over my body, I began my first attempts to stand on my feet. And even before that, I had already started listening to the speech of my parents and the maid, trying to make sense of the words. Especially since Zenith and Paul themselves were trying to speak to me. Lily, on the other hand, didn't seem to like me very much. Not in the sense that she didn't like me somehow, she was just neutral. After all, she wasn't my mother, why would she even sympathise with someone else's child?

But...

- Tyah! - It came out of me when I saw Lily above her cot.

And I put my arms out to the girl. I wasn't even smiling on purpose, I just wanted her to like me and my mouth started to smile toothlessly. Just, after the happy faces of my parents, it was a little uncomfortable to see such an indifferent expression on the maid's face.

Mission received!

Servant girl's heart

Win Lilia's favour

Reward: Random Talent!

Aww, it felt like the system itself wanted to make me befriend the maid.

But despite my efforts, the maid only sighed unpleasantly and proceeded to change the nappies. I guess I didn't choose the right time to start a relationship.

Back to my training....

I wasn't going to pretend until the end that I couldn't walk and talk. On the contrary, I tried to demonstrate some talent for learning so that my parents would talk to me more often to help me understand the language. Although I didn't want to behave quite so freely either. I didn't see any crosses or other religious paraphernalia in the house, but what if my parents were particularly religious and took my child's strange behaviour as demonic possession? Especially, I had a suspicion that this might be another world with magic, which might make such suspicions even more justified. So, I just wanted to show some talent in learning, but nothing more.

Gradually, day by day, I was getting closer to mastering the basic skills.

First, I was almost on my feet in my cot, holding on to the walls. Then I began to make the first progress in mastering speech.

- Mummy!

- Rudeus! - Zenith exclaimed happily.

And of course, from that moment on, she talked to me more and more often, trying to teach me new words.

- Hey-hey, Dad! - Father pointed his finger at himself.

- Paul!

- Ha-ha-ha! - The girl laughed contentedly.

- Hey... - Paul, on the other hand, seemed upset.

Okay, I'm obviously more attached to my mother, but this is just childish jealousy.

- Daddy!

And now he's as happy as Zenith.

And I haven't forgotten about the maid, of course.

- Lily!

I smile at her too. But I get a suspicious look in return. And after some more time, I realised I may have overdone my learning curve. At night, when my parents were already asleep, Lily came into the nursery and began to rummage around the bed. I looked out and saw that she had drawn a sort of magic circle. Honestly, I wasn't a little scared at the time. What was she up to? Is she trying to summon some kind of demon? Why all these strange movements? And, in the end, my body still didn't obey me completely, and, succumbing to fear, I just burst into tears, unable to stop such a shameful reaction.

- Hush... hush... - Lily panicked, immediately turning her attention to me.

And I tried to hold back the crying, but failed until Lilia took me in her arms. Perhaps it was how carefully she did it, clearly afraid of hurting me, that calmed me down. And the girl breathed a sigh of relief.

- Lily...

And there we are, looking at each other. Spark, understanding, love! Well, I mean, looking at me, the girl somehow relaxed and even smiled weakly, then returned me to the cot.

Mission accomplished!

The maid's heart!

Lily no longer considers you a hideous embodiment of evil.

Reward: Attractiveness

Attractiveness

You become a more seductive target for the opposite sex.

Like this? An attractive toddler? But still, maybe with such a talent in this world I'll finally shed this humiliating status of virgin!? Even if not right now, but when I'm older.

As for Lilia.

Since then she even began to treat me better somehow, more friendly, although she tried not to show it to my parents, as if ashamed of such an attitude. Or was she afraid that Zenith and Paul wouldn't like the fact that the maid was getting along with the child?

In any case, that stage was passed and, after all, it was nearly a year before I began to crawl more or less confidently. And once I was mobile enough to do that at all, I started moving all over the house, exploring everything I could see. It also helped to realise that this really was another world. Or some kind of medieval, judging by our family's household. Lilia's glasses raise some questions, though. But, almost out the door, I saw Paul practising with a sword. Is he a role-player or is this the world of sword and magic?

But most importantly...

Crawling around the house, at some point I picked up a splinter with the palm of my hand. And it wasn't just a little one! It was a big splinter that dug into my hand until it bled.

- Rudeus... you're running around the house again... - Zenith noticed me. - Ohhh, you hurt yourself too! Wait...

Lifting me up and putting me on my feet, the girl took my palm in her hands and carefully pulled out a considerable splinter.

- God's power, grant us prosperity and let every fallen man rise again, healing!

A green light descended from her and soaked into my body, and the small wound on my palm healed almost instantly. And damn it! That was real magic! It was the first time Zenith had ever done magic. That moment also changed so much. For I had memorised the words of the spell!

But I couldn't pronounce it properly yet. I could understand speech, but I had serious problems with pronunciation. I just practised and worked harder and harder on my vocal cords until I could do it. But by that time I had almost forgotten the words I needed. Nevertheless, this problem was solved by a simple trick. I pretended as if I hit my knee on the stairs when trying to climb to the first floor, right in front of Zenith.

- Mum, boo-boo!

- Ohhh, Rudeus! - Worried the girl.

And, she used the healing spell again.

And at night, when I was alone with myself, I repeated in a whisper.

- God's power, grant us prosperity and let every fallen man rise again, healing.

I didn't yet know anything about the theory of magic, how it was even supposed to work. And I doubted that just reciting the right phrases should do the trick. Surely mages must take a long time to learn how to control the inner...

And no...

A green glow enveloped my hands, and without finding a target, it simply dispersed into the air.

But, most importantly, after casting this spell, I directly felt some kind of power moving in my body. It was an amazing sensation that didn't even disappear completely. It was as if I had opened my eyes for the first time. And, from the moment I cast that first spell, the feeling of power hidden in my body never left me again.

Congratulations! You have completed your first spell!

Achievement "True Wizard"

Reward: Sense of Success.

Oh, even the system gave me a commendation. Really, I was getting excited. After all, the Great Sorcerer achievement was a bit humiliating, but it gave me some nice bonuses. I was expecting something like that from a real wizard, but as it turned out, this achievement gives nothing but a sense of success.

The system could have given me a useful achievement.

Achievement "Spoilt".

Reward: Random item

From the particles of light in my cot, a strange small device appeared.

What is it?

Some kind of cylinders, a pen. Taking the device in my hands, I turned it round and found an inscription on the stand.

"Lip-rolling machine manufactured at the metallurgical plant of cast-iron volleyballs of the city of Chelyabinsk."

Oh, it all makes sense now. The system has a sense of humour.

And, of course, these jokes can be perceived painfully, but I decided to take it easier. If you don't take the virginity taunts too seriously, it's kind of funny.

But, back to magic.

- God's Power...

Remembering the effect of magic progression, I was ready to use this spell again. But, I didn't even finish the spell, just starting to say it, I felt that movement of magic again and continued like that, and the third time I did it without words at all. But, after three repetitions, I felt a painful fatigue, from which my eyes began to close by themselves. I didn't even notice how I fell asleep.

The next day I was able to repeat this spell six times in a row! The mana reserve really doubled! And to make the training more effective, a little later, I brought a twig from the street. I broke it and then used healing. At first there was no effect at all, the energy just dissipated. But, with practice, I learnt to sort of task the spell. It became more and more interesting and the creation of magic itself began to remind me of programming, which also opened up a new vision of the process itself. Collecting energy, releasing it, channelling it, these were all separate sequential actions united by a spell. Once I understood this, I began channelling the healing energy, and the broken branch began to heal right before my eyes, joining together, even growing a little. And, just as interestingly, it required even more mana.

By the way, a new skill was developed in the process.

A skill developed!

Healing Magic 1 level.

Increases the effectiveness of healing spells

Meanwhile, although I hid the lip rolling machine, but it was found by Lily. And afterwards, together with Zenith and Paul, they all puzzled over what it was and where did it come from? They couldn't decide and threw the machine into a chest in the attic. There, by the way, I found some books in the chest and started learning to read, yes, when I hadn't even learnt to talk or walk yet. Well, so far, the best I could do was get my parents to read to me. Or Lily. Whether it's a matter of a child's brain or, more likely, a lot of hard work. After realising that one of the books I found was about magic, I became very fired up about learning to read faster.

And it took me almost a whole year to learn this useful skill. I couldn't even walk properly yet, just tentative steps. And my speech became clearer, but not enough for the system to give me credit for completing the task. And, although I learnt to read reasonably well, though not quickly, but my hands were just not dexterous enough for writing. I had to develop my fine motor skills to learn to write, but so far I was only scribbling.

But the main thing I wanted so badly to learn to read.....

- Water, give your blessing and direct your flow where I want it to go, water balloon!

Bulk...

Energy passed through my body and formed a sphere of water in the air. After which the ball burst and water poured out into the buckets. Yes, I had taken into account that practising water magic could be wet and didn't want to spill water. What's interesting is that the spell didn't just control water, it created it. So, wielding water magic, you wouldn't die of thirst as practical. But anyway, I was in no hurry to advertise my magic practice. Vaughn, Lilia already suspected something wrong with me. I learn too fast for a child, even a genius.

As for magic...

Based on the book "Fundamentals of Magic", it came out that people have a fixed mana reserve, which they get at birth. And, it turns out, either this information is wrong, or this is my peculiarity in the form of the effect of magical progression, and other children do not have it. Also, the book doesn't mention the ability to cast spells without words at all. You'd think that this is something obvious and doesn't require explanation, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

As for the basics of magic itself... which I started studying after I learnt a new spell....

It turns out that the classical magic of this world is divided into three areas.

Attack magic, which in turn is divided into four elements - fire, water, earth, air. Here everything is obvious, elemental spells and, almost all of them are created for combat. Although there are exceptions, but it seems that originally magic was created for battles and the very name of this type of spells carries a certain tradition.

The next direction is healing magic.

And it too is divided into four types. Healing, aimed at treating wounds. Detoxification, which heals from poisons and diseases. Exorcism, which is directed against incorporeal beings. And defence, which is not only defence, like creating barriers, but also spells of various effects.

And finally, summoning magic, divided already into two items, summoning creatures and summoning spirits.

There was very little information about summoning magic in the book, but it looks promising.

And each direction has seven levels of skill. From beginner, to divine.

Anyway, it was interesting. But, now I needed new spells. Because with healing or water balloon, I couldn't pump up my mana supply anymore. Since I started doing it every night, my mana supply had increased so much that I just couldn't deplete it with such weak spells even for a whole day. And I can't even spend that much time on it! Even though silent charms required more magic power than spells. Even though various changes in the form and power of magic also increased the energy consumption exponentially. But, for example, even if I created a water ball for the entire room, I wouldn't have drained my reserve by half. Healing magic, on the other hand, would create so much light that it could easily give me away. On top of that, mould was starting to grow on the walls. I needed some new ways to spend my mana.

But, there was an unexpected problem. Namely, the destructiveness of advanced magic.

Creating a massive explosion in a room is not what I needed. The list of spells that were costly enough, but didn't do massive damage, was surprisingly sparse. Barrier magic from the healing branch was only mentioned briefly, as was summoning magic.

I found another way to maximise the cost. Namely, control training.

Use ice magic from the book not to create battle projectiles, but to form ice statues. Control seems to be the important thing here, not the amount of mana, but the more complex the action, the more tiny details you need to detail, the more energy is wasted. Because each action is an additional algorithm of silent charms, programming magic. And, in fact, creating a tiny ice figurine will be a more complex and costly action than creating a huge sphere of water.

So I started creating figurines out of ice, earth, and metal. Yes, by the way, the more hard metals in the rock, the more mana it takes to reshape and create figurines. On top of that, I also honed my skill in other spells. I even mastered basic fire magic, trying to give fire different shapes, change its temperature and colour. It was a little more difficult with air magic, as its manifestations in basic spells were difficult to see. And, partly for this reason, air magic interested me a lot. Powerful invisible blows, it could be very useful in combat, after all. Not that I was looking to fight anyone, but I guess I was influenced by the very nature of magic. That is, the local tradition of magic, which is mainly aimed at combat use, although some spells can be used in everyday life as well.

Another additional burden was the simultaneous use of two different types of silent charms at the same time. Mana costs also increased exponentially! Because it's even more of a given action. And of course, in the process I gained and even pumped up the relevant skills a bit.

Water Magic level 9

Earth Magic level 11

Fire Magic level 5

Air Magic level 6

I have to admit, magic just fascinated me. Nothing in my past life has ever thrilled me this much. And with all those statuses and innate predisposition, along with a great enthusiasm and eagerness to learn, I could say that I had a real talent for magic. And in the process, I became just as confident on my feet. Keeping my balance while walking became easier. Still, it's ironic that I learnt to cast magic before I learnt to walk.

Mission accomplished!

First steps

You have learnt to walk like a human!

Reward: unlocked inventory function.

And I immediately looked at my in-game status. Next to the task tab, another one appeared, opening a new game window. Inventory, just like in the game. I played with it a bit, trying to put and take out different things from there. Even if they are quite large objects, like a chair. But when I tried to move the cot...

Too heavy an object, increase your tiny strength.

It seems like the weight of items I can put in my inventory depends on my strength score. Also, the number of cells is just as limited. But, through experimentation, I found out that strength affects just the weight of the allowable carry, not the total storage. That is, I could put in my inventory even ten items of the limit of my gravity, exactly as many as there were cells.

And, in fact, that wasn't the only achievement. Learning spells also helped me improve my diction, especially since I didn't forget to learn how to speak, which led to another task.

Mission accomplished!

Word gold

You have learnt how to speak human!

Reward: unlocked the scanning function

How did it work?

Now I could look at, say, Mother Zenith and....

Zenith.

Cleric level 9.

Health is at an all-time high.

Mana, a very modest supply.

Strongest skill is laundry.

Mood - tired.

Or, you can scan an item.

A lip-rolling machine.

Rolls the rolled lip back up.

It's a user-required item.

Something like this.

- Ahh! Ahh! Ahh!

Another workout was interrupted by loud noises from my parent's bedroom.

Damn it! Zenith! You have a baby in the house! Why are you moaning so loud?

I'm jealous.

And it's a good thing my body is too small to really feel sexually aroused. Otherwise, these night noises would be unbearable.

Congratulations! Your virgin level has been raised!

Reward: Disappointment

Damn you, system!

I'm not sure, but I think I heard a child's tinkling laughter in my half-sleep.
