It was stupid.
I mean, my life... or rather, not my life itself, but the way it ended. Can you imagine a situation like this. Some scumbags harassing a girl. That's what I was faced with and I decided to intervene. Growing up, I was always told that girls should be protected. Although, there is still the principle that there are many girls, and I am at my mother's one, but then I was guided exactly by the burden of a man who stands guard over the weaker sex. And, it's worth noting, I wasn't a domestic pancake. I was into martial arts. I went to karate as a kid, but I didn't really like it, so I went to judo. And then I did a little boxing. No, I liked judo, but it is a somewhat passive martial art, focusing more on counterattack and defence. And grappling and throwing requires some conditioning. With boxing, on the other hand, I improved my skills in offence. Anyway, I knew how to fight. Although, when I grew up, I somewhat abandoned martial arts, but still tried to keep in shape.
But there were three of them.
And then one of them had a knife.
Yeah, it wasn't easy, but still, I took those scumbags down. I practically smashed one's face in, knocked another one over, and knocked the third one out of my hands and knocked him over. The guys calmed down and crawled away. And the grateful girl even gave me her number!
Did you expect me to die in a scuffle?
No, I was just daydreaming that I might get a girlfriend and stop being a thirty year old virgin, walked out onto the road without looking and got hit by a Japanese lorry.
Oh, for fuck's sake, life, you fucking bitch!
Would you like to start a new game?
Yeah. No.
It's like I just switched on. Without a body, in the middle of a white void. And this weird writing that appeared right in the air. Is this the afterlife? I mean, what happens if I choose? Start a new game? What game? Life is a game? Then that sounds hopeful. But what if I choose no? Maybe I'll wake up from the matrix? Or there will be nothing at all...
Either way, the agony of choice didn't torment me.
If life is a game, I wouldn't mind trying again.
You have chosen to start a new game!
The achievement "Great Enchanter" has been saved.
Memory Archiving
And at this point, I just switched off.
In the very next moment, reality delivered its stunning blow under my breath. Poisonous oxygen rushed into my lungs as if burning them from the inside out. The air cut my eyes like acid. My body was so weak that I couldn't even move. And I was covered in some kind of slime. And the only thing I could do was weep.
Memory unpacking complete
And so began my new life.
Birth is an unpleasant thing, even if you realise yourself after the process, not before. And, I couldn't even see properly yet, everything was floating around. But, at the same time, the game table was blazing in my mind.

Somehow this all doesn't look particularly inspiring.
No, it's like this system is mocking me.
Meanwhile, some soapy blobs took me in their arms, hearing monstrous voices cutting through my hearing. But, maybe according to the system my intelligence was not particularly high, nevertheless, it was enough to catch the essence of what was happening. Moreover, my eyes adapted quickly, and I could almost recognise the faces of the people around me. A young girl who held me tenderly in her arms. And a young boy who was making faces at me. There was another girl a little further away, but she was wearing a Victorian maid's dress and glasses.
Obviously, I've been reborn. A new game is really just a new life.
Well, reborn and reborn it was.
