I’m Not That Obsessive

Chapter 64

Chapter 64

“Mitchell.”

– Did the contract go well?

“Yeah. It went well.”

– Are you coming here?

“But I’m feeling a bit sick.”

– What? Where?

“I have severe muscle pain. It might be a cold. I’m not sure.”

– Go to the hospital first.

“It’s not that bad. I’ll go to the pharmacy and get some medicine. I don’t think I can come to the filming set. Just in case it’s contagious.”

– You don’t need to come here. Go to the hospital and then straight home to rest. Or do you want to be admitted? I know a doctor, so I can arrange it right away.

“It’s not that serious. If we did that, we’d both get criticized.”

– Ah… I can’t come right now. Can you get home by yourself?

“Of course. I can just call a taxi.”

Mitchell was fuming alone. I liked that Mitchell was angry because of me, and thought that being sick like this occasionally wasn’t so bad. After ending the call, I bought cold medicine and went straight home.

When I took off my clothes soaked with sweat, my muscles pulled and I groaned. It wasn’t this bad even when I slept with Mitchell… My throat was sore, but fortunately, I had no other cold symptoms.

After lying down on the bed, I was completely out.

“Huh?”

It seems I fell asleep right after taking the medicine. I opened my eyes to someone’s touch and saw Mitchell looking down at me. Outside, darkness had already fallen.

“Did you take the medicine?”

Mitchell’s expression wasn’t good. Because of Mitchell worrying about me, my body sticky with sweat seemed to feel refreshed.

“Yeah. I took it. I feel much better than before.”

“You don’t look like it.”

“Really.”

When I smiled weakly, Mitchell brushed my sweaty bangs. I grinned, and Mitchell frowned. I was sincere, but Mitchell was pretending.

You can stop pretending to be upset. You want to smile with me.

I wanted to play along with Mitchell more, but my weakened body consumed even my spirit. The moment I closed my eyelids, I fell asleep. When I woke up again, it was the next morning.

“Ah… Mitchell.”

As I stirred, Mitchell, who had been sleeping at the edge of the bed, got up. Mitchell had curled up uncomfortably at the edge of the bed without even changing clothes. My body was almost recovered, but I felt bad for making only Mitchell suffer.

“How are you feeling?”

Mitchell asked about my condition first with sleepy eyes. I felt sorry but happy. I was delighted and moved.

“I’m almost completely better. But why didn’t you sleep next to me instead of like this… Huh, what’s this?”

I felt something on my forehead and touched it. The shape felt just like…

“A band-aid?”

There was a band-aid stuck on my forehead.

“Did you put this on?”

“Yeah. It helps when you’re sick.”

Mitchell stretched his stiff body and said something not even funny. My main symptom was full-body muscle pain, so why a band-aid? Still, I appreciated that he stayed by my side all night, so I played along with Mitchell’s humor. A bit mischievously.

“I guess I got better because you put this on. I’m fine now. Wow, that’s amazing. I don’t know how to thank you.”

I said sarcastically, slightly mocking him.

“Right? It’s very effective.”

But Mitchell responded with a serious and proud tone. Because of that, I ended up laughing helplessly. This kid sometimes acted so unreasonably despite looking normal.

Anyway, it was fortunate that I recovered quickly after being sick for just one night. I still felt a bit weak and had some residual muscle pain, but it was bearable.

The problem was that I couldn’t go to the filming set with Mitchell. I was likely to miss the gym too. It hurt more that I had to neglect my duty of being Mitchell’s shadow just because of a little sickness.

So I tried to insist, but our dear Mitchell had no intention of letting me out of the house.

“No.”

“I’m almost completely better. This isn’t even a fever.”

“Forget it, stay home today. Take your medicine and rest well.”

“But still…”

“I said no.”

“Tch, if you say no, does that mean everything’s a no? Don’t I have any say in this?”

“No, you don’t.”

“Damn…”

Unable to curse outright, I grumbled and then suddenly grabbed Mitchell’s hand. I put it in my pants, making him touch my butt.

“Grant my wish. I want to follow you today. Then you can touch me all day long.”

Mitchell didn’t pull his hand away and kept kneading my butt. Mitchell’s eyes and mouth drew a generous curve. Seeing how lively his hand movements were, it seemed like I might get a positive answer.

As expected, with a guy like Mitchell, you need to throw bait. Usually, the bait is my body below…

“Don’t try to pull tricks.”

“……”

The bait and tricks didn’t work…

“Stay home quietly. I’ll be back by 3 PM. I’ll ask to finish early.”

“Is that possible?”

“I’ll say I caught your cold, that I’m feeling sick. I have a lot of standby time today anyway. This works out well.”

Currently, I’m officially Mitchell’s staff, responsible for driving, odd jobs, and so on. Because we were always together, strange rumors started, so Mitchell finally clarified our relationship by saying he had hired me. He also added that I was like a Korean-style road manager.

My story was this:

When I came to America, I gave up my acting career and took on a completely new job, but by chance, I was cast as a supporting actor in a movie and returned to acting. Once I firmly establish myself as an actor, it might become awkward to continue working as Mitchell’s staff, but for now, it was a timely improvisation. That’s why there was enough reason for Mitchell to catch a cold if I got one.

“I’d be happy if you come back early. Do as you please.”

When Mitchell pulled his hand out of my pants, I just lay there. Just talking a bit made my body go limp. There was no doubt that my body hadn’t fully recovered yet.

After sending Mitchell to the filming location, I called the gym to say I probably couldn’t come. Then I fell asleep again.

Around the time the soup Mitchell left for me had cooled, the doorbell rang throughout the house, and my phone app also vibrated. Someone had pressed the intercom at the metal gate.

After the fire, my phone was synchronized with Mitchell’s house entry system. When someone rings Mitchell’s doorbell, I also get an alert.

I half-opened my eyes and picked up my phone. As soon as I checked the app to see who had come to the house, I frowned involuntarily.

Why is he here?

The person showing their face on the screen was none other than Inbeom Yoon. It seems he came to the house because I didn’t show up at the gym.

I gave my address when I registered at the gym, but I wondered if the gym would really give out my personal information. Moreover, I couldn’t understand why he came without calling first when he knew my phone number. Of course, if he had called, I would have told him not to come. Is that why he showed up without contacting me?

I was about to pretend I wasn’t home, but when the second doorbell rang, I reluctantly pressed the intercom call button.

“Hey, what brings you here?”

– Oh, you are home. I heard you were sick. I brought some porridge.

“I’m fine though. Why did you come all the way here? It must have been troublesome.”

– I just stopped by on my way. Open the door quickly. The porridge will get cold.

Inbeom Yoon showed the porridge in his hand. It didn’t seem right to turn him away at the door, so I opened it.

I thought I could just accept the food, exchange greetings, and send him back.

I raised my heavy body and sat up against the bed headboard. While quietly looking at Mitchell’s soup on the bedside table, I heard Inbeom Yoon entering the house on his own. This was possible because the front door hadn’t been fixed yet.

“I’m over here.”

When I told him my location, Inbeom Yoon appeared a moment later. He looked around the room with wide eyes.

“Is this the house where Mitchell Cronenwirth lives?”

I had mentioned that I was staying at the neighbor’s house because of the fire. It might look a bit strange that a guest was occupying the largest bedroom, but I thought Inbeom wouldn’t know. He wouldn’t know the whole structure of the house unless he opened every door.

“Yeah. Mitchell’s house. He’s out filming now. Hey, Inbeom. I really appreciate you coming to visit, but I don’t think it’s right for me to let my guests into someone else’s house…”

I told him I was really grateful, but he had gone too far. I hinted that he shouldn’t have come here knowing my situation.

But the tactless guy pulled a table from far away and set up the food he brought. Looking at his smiling face made me feel frustrated. He seemed completely unaware of how I felt.

“Eat quickly.”

In truth, eating and taking medicine would help me recover quickly so I could follow Mitchell again. Prioritizing my recovery, I forced myself to eat the porridge. Inbeom Yoon watched me with the satisfaction of a student who had just completed a 5-hour volunteer activity.

I finished about half and put down the spoon. Then I took my medicine and had some pointless conversation with Inbeom Yoon.

“I’m tired now and need to lie down. You should go now too. Thanks for coming.”

“It’s nothing. I’ll come again tomorrow.”

“Hey, no way.”

I shouted at his absurd statement.

“How many times do I have to tell you this isn’t our house? I’m already feeling really awkward about this. And I don’t think I’ll be sick until tomorrow. Actually, I’m almost better now. I’m not sick at all, just tired. Don’t come anymore. Let’s just meet at the gym.”

“You feel awkward being here? I didn’t know… Well, that’s good then. Let’s go to my house. My house is really big too. We have lots of spare rooms.”

“No thanks. Just go. I’m really going to lie down.”

I really closed my eyes, so I don’t know what Inbeom Yoon did after that. I just thought he had left when I heard the front door close.

But that wasn’t the case. He pulled a small stunt before leaving.

Inbeom Yoon, that bastard…

The soup Mitchell had prepared for me was thrown away in the sink.
