Chapter 230: Chapter 25: Visiting the Holy Emperor

At the same time, in the center of the Ministry of Defense, the Holy Residence.

In front of the largest and most eye-catching pure white palace in Tokyo, Nia Honjo, who had just returned from the unexplored area, paced back and forth at the entrance under the watchful eyes of the Holy Residence guards.

Impatiently checking the time on her phone, Nia Honjo asked one of the guards, "Hey, when can I enter the Holy Residence?"

"Miss, please be patient."

"The captain of your guard team just went to ask the Holy Emperor if he could see me. Is the Holy Residence so big that even the captain would get lost?!"

"Miss, please be patient."

"I've been waiting! I've been waiting for twenty minutes! Even if the Holy Emperor is taking a shit, she should've finished by now!" Nia Honjo raised her phone and almost pressed it against one of the guard's faces. "Look for yourself! I came at 8:30, and it's almost 9:00 now!"

"It's already nine o'clock," the guard said, stunned. "Then come back tomorrow. We're off duty at nine."

Hearing this, Nia Honjo was so angry her nose almost twisted.

Just that noon, she, Rentaro Satomi, and Nibelcole had boarded a helicopter that Kisara Tendo had rented through her own channels. The three of them had headed for the unexplored area outside the Monoliths to search for the Seven Stars relics that had been devoured by a Gastrea.

For others, finding a Gastrea in such a vast unexplored area was as difficult as finding a needle in a haystack.

But for Nia Honjo, it was just a matter of writing.

Using the search results from the Whispering Volume, they quickly located the target Gastrea lurking in the forest.

The target was just a stage three monster, and Nia Honjo could have killed it herself if she were careful, not to mention she had two bodyguards Nibelcole and Rentaro Satomi with her.

After easily killing the Gastrea, they found a suitcase in its stomach that hadn't yet been corroded.

Casually attaching the tracking devices from the suitcase to the backs of other Gastrea, they made it seem as though the Seven Stars relics hadn't been recovered. Then, the three of them returned to the helicopter with the real relics before causing too much commotion.

The first thing Nia Honjo did after returning to Tokyo was to go to the Ministry of Defense to meet the Holy Emperor.

However, it had been twenty minutes since the captain of the Holy Residence Guard, Takuto Yasuwaki, had entered the Holy Residence, and she still hadn't returned.

"These guys definitely never intended to let me see the Holy Emperor from the start," Nia Honjo thought. "I explained my purpose and verified my identity, but they're still stalling. That guy, Takuto Yasuwaki, definitely didn't go to ask the Holy Emperor for permission."

This situation made it hard not to suspect that the Holy Residence Guard had been bribed by Kikunojou Tendo and were loyal to him rather than the Holy Emperor.

Perhaps the old man had already received the news and was on his way to the Holy Residence.

They couldn't wait any longer. Once Kikunojou Tendo arrived, he would definitely find an excuse to drive Nia Honjo away and take the Seven Stars relics.

"Then there's only one way left."

Moving to a spot where the Holy Residence guards couldn't see her, Nia Honjo summoned the Whispering Volume and the Pen of Narration, turning to a blank page.

As the pen touched the page, the projection of the future appeared on the volume in the form of a picture.

In the picture, the Holy Emperor walked out of the Holy Residence and met Nia Honjo despite the guards' obstruction.

After closing the volume, Nia Honjo picked up her suitcase and returned to the steps of the Holy Residence, waiting for the Holy Emperor to appear.

---

 In the Holy Residence

In the office, a girl dressed in pure white sat at her desk, reviewing documents.

Her hair, eyelashes, and even her clothes were all pure white, with blue accents that matched her eyes. Combined with her incomparably exquisite appearance, she looked like a character who had stepped out of a painting.

However, the heavy workload had left her looking exhausted.

This was only natural, as this girl, not even eighteen years old, bore the responsibility of protecting the entire Tokyo area.

Looking at the stack of documents on her desk that hadn't diminished at all, the Holy Emperor let out a soft sigh.

The resistance to implementing the [Gastrea Protection Act], the aggressive intentions from other regions, the internal covetousness of her position, and the recent loss of the Seven Stars relics had all weighed heavily on her, leaving her depressed and overwhelmed.

Today, she had planned to rest after completing a quarter of the accumulated work.

But for some reason, as she gazed at the crescent moon in the night sky, she felt an urge to take a walk.

Though she was physically and mentally exhausted, the desire to go outside grew stronger and stronger.

So, the Holy Emperor set down her pen and gave in to the impulse.

"Maybe I've been staying in the Holy Residence for too long and need to take a walk to relieve the stress," she thought.

After informing her maid of her plans, the maid called the Holy Residence Guard.

After all, as the top leader of the Tokyo area, she couldn't go out without guards.

However, the captain of the Holy Residence Guard, a man named Takuto Yasuwaki, had a strange expression.

"Lord Holy Emperor, it's already evening. It's not appropriate to go out now."

"What's inappropriate?"

"It would be bad if we encountered any danger."

"That's why I want you to come along, isn't it?"

"But Lord Holy Emperor has been working hard all day. You should rest as much as possible to recover your energy for tomorrow's work."

"Walking is a way to relax and recharge."

Takuto Yasuwaki kept trying to persuade her, hoping she would change her mind.

However, for some reason, the Holy Emperor was unusually stubborn today.

Accompanied by a group of Holy Residence guards, she ignored Takuto Yasuwaki's advice and walked to the entrance of the Holy Residence.

"Tsk…"

Seeing that he couldn't stop the Holy Emperor from going out, Takuto Yasuwaki frowned in displeasure and gave up trying to persuade her.

Then, he gave a trusted subordinate a look, signaling him to chase away the persistent woman at the door.

As she walked out of the gate, the Holy Emperor saw the guards driving Nia Honjo away.

"What's going on?" she asked.

"It's just some unrelated person trying to barge into the Holy Residence. Our loyal and dedicated guards are performing their duties," Takuto Yasuwaki replied with a smile.

"Is that so?" The Holy Emperor nodded, not doubting his answer.

However, at that moment, Nia Honjo finally saw the Holy Emperor and her eyes lit up. She waved and shouted, "Hey, Holy Emperor! I'm here to see you!"

Takuto Yasuwaki reacted quickly, saying, "Don't let that woman get close to Lord Holy Emperor. She doesn't have an appointment, and who knows what her intentions are."

"The Seven Stars relics!"

Nia Honjo yelled the key words at the top of her lungs, waving the briefcase in her hand. "I brought the reward you offered!"

As expected, the Holy Emperor, who had been planning to ignore her, stopped.
