I Will Eventually Embark On The Path Of No Return Called A Hero

Chapter 254: Chapter 12. Unable to Ignore

[Arc4] - 12. Unable to Ignore

"Ouch! It really hurts! This man actually did it!"

"Please stop moving, Miss Tohsaka Rin, I can't disinfect you properly."

Gray looked a bit troubled as she watched Tohsaka Rin roll on the floor, clutching her forehead.

"How embarrassing, Tohsaka Rin!" Luvia's brow twitched. "It's just a little wound, and yet…"

"Alcohol for disinfection," Cyd picked up a cotton swab soaked in medical alcohol, "I'm poking."

"Ughhhhh! It hurts! How could you really do this, you awful man!"

Luvia, who had been trying to stay calm despite the pain, finally gave in, clutching her forehead and rolling on the carpet.

"I warned you from the start," Cyd shrugged, then placed a plaster on Luvia's forehead, almost as if sealing her wound. "If you just let me knock you into the ground and take a bath afterwards, it would've been over."

"Is that really the point here?" Rin sat up, looking dissatisfied. "We're girls! How could you hit a girl that hard?"

"When you two were fighting me in those magical girl outfits, I stopped thinking of you as ordinary women." Cyd grabbed another plaster and slapped it on Rin's forehead.

They claimed to be ladies but hit him with enough force to turn someone to dust.

"Anyway, don't even think about trying to snatch the Class Cards from me." Cyd pulled the Class Cards from his pocket and waved them. "Besides, with your pride, you'd never stoop to stealing them, right?"

"Of course not!" Luvia puffed out her chest.

After a moment of silence, Rin chose to stay quiet.

"So that leaves only one option: outright robbery." Cyd cracked his knuckles. "Too bad for you, though. I won't show an ounce of mercy, magical girls."

"Guh…" Luvia recoiled, unwilling to admit defeat.

"If you understand, give up now," Lord El-Melloi II waved his hand.

In the end, Luvia and Rin, who had come with so much bravado, slunk out of Cyd's home in defeat.

"I really wish those two would just give up easily," Lord El-Melloi II sighed.

But the look in their eyes as they left showed they had no intention of giving up. They would probably stir up trouble again soon.

"What's there to be afraid of? They only have two options to get the Class Cards: either try to rob us and get beaten up by me, or grab them before we do and still get beaten up by me," Cyd leisurely sipped his tea. "In conclusion, they're not going to get the cards. And with their personalities, they're not going to steal, so relax."

"That's true," Lord El-Melloi II nodded.

"Let's go steal the Class Cards."

Rin looked seriously at Luvia.

"Huh??" Luvia's mouth fell open. "You can't be serious!"

"Do I look like I'm joking?" Rin clutched her head in frustration. "That guy doesn't even see us as cute girls anymore; he's hitting us like he wants to kill us. And we can't beat him. There's no way the two of us can snatch the Class Cards from him."

"We could still get the Class Cards before they do by defeating the Servants," Luvia suggested, though she was hesitant.

"And then get them stolen by that guy?" Rin rubbed her forehead. "Have you even considered that he might just come in midway and take down both the Servants and us?"

"Uh…" Luvia was momentarily at a loss for words.

"What's there to hesitate about? If we want to collect the Class Cards, that man is an obstacle we can't avoid." Rin grabbed Luvia's shoulders and shook her. "Are we seriously going to give up just because the opponent's too strong? That's so shameful!"

Luvia's expression began to waver. She was tempted.

The Edelfelt way was to get what you wanted, no matter what. If you couldn't get it fairly, stealing wasn't… off the table.

"Ugh, this is so boring." Ruby flew out from Rin's hair.

"Indeed, Miss Luvia's talk of stealing because she can't win is quite disappointing." Sapphire emerged from Luvia's hair and flew next to Ruby.

"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?" Rin sensed something bad was coming.

"Sapphire, listen to me. I was just seriously considering the feasibility of it," Luvia's face turned red as she panicked. "After all, collecting the Class Cards is the top priority."

"Well, in any case, I'm done with this." Ruby spun around. "Rin, you're no magical girl at all, so I'm off to find a real pure-hearted magical girl."

"Ha?!?!" Rin's eyes widened. "I'm your master!"

"Ah, well, I just canceled the contract," Ruby started to ascend.

"I agree with my sister on this," Sapphire followed suit, flying up.

"Ha! I rented you from that person through legitimate channels!" Luvia raised her voice.

"Well, you can take it up with them for after-sales service. Anyway, I'm out. Bye-bye!" Ruby waved her wings and flew into the sky as a streak of light.

"That's that, so goodbye." Sapphire, like an elegant maid, gave a little bow before flying off.

"Wha... What now?" Rin stared blankly at the sky.

"This... this is all your fault!" Luvia swung her drill-like hair at Rin.

"Hah! You were just as shaken! Otherwise, Sapphire wouldn't have left!" Rin retaliated, her twin tails clashing with Luvia's hair, and they started tussling.

"What are those two doing?" Cyd looked down from the roof at the two women wrestling in public.

Their fighting was childish, but at least they weren't destroying the area.

"Well, without Ruby and Sapphire, they should give up now." Cyd stretched lazily.

Just as he was about to jump down from the roof, he saw something—only for a moment, but it made him pause.

It was a "problem", a massive vortex. If he got involved, there was no easy way out. Athena's blessing was furiously warning him.

He was just an ordinary person right now, only here to help his comrades.

The world is vast, and there are many people. He wasn't the only one who could solve this problem. He didn't need to intervene in everything.

If he just ignored it, life could stay simple...

Though that's what he told himself, by the time he realized it, he was already there.

In front of him was a girl dressed in ill-fitting clothes, barefoot, her face dirty and expressionless.

Cyd smiled gently as he extended his hand.

Although her expression didn't change, the girl warily took a step back.

"I want to help you."

In the sunlight, Cyd's smile was incredibly warm. Even the tense girl instinctively reached out her dirty little hand. But as she noticed Cyd's pure white hand, she hesitated and tried to pull back.

"Thank you," Cyd grasped her hand.

"Why?" After a moment of silence, the girl asked in a soft, ethereal voice, "I should be the one thanking you."

"Because you were willing to trust me." Cyd bent down and picked her up. "That, to me, is something worth thanking. What's your name?"

"Miyu."

Feeling the warmth of his embrace, the little girl instinctively clutched Cyd's shirt.
