I Was Sold to My Mortal Enemy (Double Transmigrations)

Chapter 1

Shi Yi had been confined to a firewood shed for three days, with a 5-year-old child known as ‘Xiao Liu’ beside him. The child wore tattered, coarse linen clothes, patched and discolored. His yellowed, sparse hair was tied with rag strips.

Xiao Liu appeared much smaller and undernourished for a 5-year-old, looking more like a 3-year-old. He had a striking red lotus mark between his eyebrows, which, despite its beauty, contrasted with his sun-kissed skin and an unusual odor. The child nestled against Shi Yi bare feet and soundly asleep.

Shi Yi wasn’t originally from this time or place. He came from the 21st century and ended up in this primitive environment after a car accident while attempting to confront his mortal enemy, Pei Xing.

He was dressed in patched, rough linen clothes and hadn’t bathed in quite some time, leaving him with an unpleasant odor and tangled, foul-smelling hair.

From the memories of the body he now inhabited, he discovered that in this world, there were three genders: women, men, and shuangers.

A shuanger was a unique gender that, despite being male, could give birth to children. They possessed a lotus mark between their eyebrows, and the redder it was, the easier it was to conceive and bear children.

Although the pregnancy rate was lower than women, shuangers had a natural allure, a sweet fragrance, and exceptional beauty. Most of the children they bore were boys, with a very small number being shuangers themselves.

Due to the low birth rate of shuangers and the fact that unions between shuangers and men wouldn’t produce girls, shuangers were highly sought after in the Dayu Dynasty.

The original Shi Yi was a shuanger, and despite his lotus mark not being very red, he was strikingly attractive. Seeing the opportunity, his second uncle sold him and Xiao Liu to the town’s nobleman, Master Fan, to serve as concubines.

When Shi Yi discovered this, he couldn’t bear the humiliation and tried to escape with Xiao Liu but was caught, beaten, and locked in the woodshed. On the same night, he fell into a high fever and slipped into a coma, passing away shortly after.

After inheriting the original Shi Yi’s memories, he initially planned to escape but was thwarted by Xiao Liu’s cries, leading to a severe beating and capture. Although he felt a burning anger, he couldn’t bring himself to harm a child. Xiao Liu was the only one who loved him, and he was now all alone.

Shi Yi’s parents had passed away four years prior, and their property and home had been taken over by his second uncle’s family.

His elder brother, Shi Mo, was another shuanger who had sold himself three years ago to fund Shi Yi’s treatment.

His second brother, Shi He, had disappeared when he was young. The whereabouts of the fourth brother, Shi Wu, were unknown, as he had been conscripted into the army by their second uncle’s family and met a grim fate. Both were a man and he didn’t know how their lives right now.

The little one in Shi Yi’s arms had been adopted by his original parents five years ago. This child, known as Shi Liu, now laid sleeping peacefully in his embrace.

.

After being captured yesterday, the little shuanger held onto him and cried for a long time, not falling asleep until late at night.

Shi Yi stared blankly at the thatched roof. His body ached with every movement, and hunger gnawed at his stomach.

The child in his arms stirred, likely due to hunger. He softly called out to his brother and snuggled into his embrace.

Shi Yi pushed him away when the child crawled closer. However, the little one came back, nestled in his arms, and softly apologized.

“Third brother, I’m sorry…”

Shi Yi weakly tapped his head, saying, “Hush!”

Xiao Liu raised his round head, pouted, and gently blew on the bruises on Shi Yi’s face. Then, he leaned in closer and whispered softly in his ear, “Third brother, I’ll give you some relief. It won’t hurt as much soon.”

Shi Yi chuckled but didn’t pay much attention, his hunger and fatigue taking a toll on him.

The child, left with no one else to turn to, remained quiet for a while, then tugged at Shi Yi’s sleeve and pitifully said, “Third brother, my stomach hurts so much.” As he spoke, he groaned and tears welled up in his eyes.

Shi Yi sighed, stood up, fetched some cold water from nearby, and gave the little one a few sips. Observing the child’s stunted frame, he felt a surge of anger and threw the bowl to the ground.

He walked to the door, kicked it a few times, and shouted, “Useless bastards! Give us some food! We’ll starve to death, and you won’t get any money!”

Shi Liu trembled with fear, tears streaming down his cheeks. He couldn’t understand why his third brother, who had always been calm, suddenly exploded with anger.

“Did you hear me?!”

“Give us food!!!!”

Shi Yi kicked the door and realized it was surprisingly sturdy. After several more kicks, it remained intact. Frustrated, he kicked it a few more times, only to end up with a mouthful of dirt.

“You little bitch who should have suffered thousand cuts. A robber, you still dare to ask for food. I think you’re itching for trouble!” A woman’s voice screamed through the door and slapped it, scolding Shi Yi sharply.

Shi Yi shivered involuntarily.

Shi Liu reacted even more dramatically, curling up into a ball and hiding in the straw. He raised his head and whispered to Shi Yi, “Third brother, hide quickly. Don’t argue with second aunt again. Uncle and the others are waiting; they’ll beat us to death next time.”

Hearing this, Shi Yi’s heart ached. He muttered a few curses, then approached the door and yelled, “Damn it! Who do you think you’re scolding! You’ve taken over my land, stolen my house, and sent my 13-year-old fourth brother to have his head chopped off and fighting at the border!” Shi Yi’s anger flared as he spoke, and he pounded on the door loudly.

“You’re nothing but a bunch of scum who sold us off!! Aunty He, you used to ignore me, thinking I was insignificant. But if you don’t take care of me now, I’ll set this place on fire. Let’s see what you will bring to meet Master Fan tomorrow!”

“You little slut, you’ve got some guts.” The second aunt rolled her eyes and chuckled twice. “If you want to intimidate me, go ahead! Give it your best shot! I won’t be scared.”

The woman didn’t take Shi Yi’s words seriously at all. His threats couldn’t hurt them, and he couldn’t do much. He was a coward who didn’t fight back even when insulted, already tarnished by the betrayal of his own family.

Sigh!

Shi Yi didn’t anticipate it to be so challenging. He rolled his eyes, sneered, and took a couple of steps forward. He leaned against the door panel and gazed at the plump woman through the crack in the door. He chuckled twice, then sighed as if giving up and spoke with a resigned tone.

“Never mind, I’ll be Master Fan’s concubine tomorrow anyway. I heard Master Fan spent a hundred taels. As the saying goes, a gentleman’s revenge was never too late. When the time comes, I’ll whisper some ideas into Master Fan’s ear. I won’t have to worry about making decisions for myself.”

Upon hearing this, the second aunt froze and rolled her eyes a couple of times. She didn’t expect this shuanger to become clever and use others to threaten her.

No longer arguing, she cursed and went back to talk with her husband.

.

Not long after, she brought two bowls of porridge and two pancakes.

Shi Yi and Shi Liu devoured them.

Suddenly, Shi Yi felt a bit despondent. His life had never been easy, constantly filled with troubles.

In his previous life, his childhood was overshadowed by his father’s violence. At seven, his abusive father left him disabled. He became a crippled eunuch in the modern world of the 21st century, ridiculed by classmates and the butt of jokes in the village.

He spent his childhood amidst mockery and violence, growing up reserved and avoiding interaction with others. Two years after his disability, his father drank himself to death, offering respite for him and his family, and they began to improve their lives.

The memory of his elementary school days haunted him throughout his educational journey. He was occasionally provoked by unsavory individuals. Eventually, with no other option, his aunt took him to city B to complete his studies. It was there that he realized the vast differences among people.

Like him and Pei Xing, he studied diligently into the late hours. He might not have been as naturally gifted as Pei Xing, but he still managed to rank first in his age group. He was close to escaping the shadow Pei Xing casted on him.

As he was about to leave behind that dark period of his life upon graduation, he was slapped with an unjust reputation. Although he excelled in art, his weak sexual prowess was discovered during the college entrance examination.

Despite ultimately being accepted into a second-tier college, their family couldn’t afford the more than 200,000-yuan tuition for four years, leaving him with no choice but to skip college.

Initially, his aunt considered sending him and Pei Xing to study abroad together, but Shi Yi eventually declined. He and Pei Xing were fundamentally incompatible, and to be frank, he loathed and envied Pei Xing.

Pei Xing was not the biological child of Shi Yi’s aunt. His aunt was a classic Cinderella story, marrying into a wealthy family and having a notorious reputation.

Shi Yi’s aunt was a college student from a rural area and was financially supported by Pei Xing’s father. Rumors circulated that Shi Yi’s aunt, dubbed ‘the other woman’ might have played a role in the death of Pei Xing’s mother.

Pei Xing’s mother passed away when he was just four years old, while Shi Yi’s aunt was still in her second year of high school in their village. The two families had a strained relationship, so speculation about her involvement in the mother’s death began to spread.

His aunt always took great care to get along with the Pei family, striving to please them. Even when Shi Yi was mistreated by Pei Xing, he refrained from speaking out to avoid causing trouble for his aunt.

After graduating from junior college, Shi Yi took a job as a primary school teacher in a small town. His salary gradually increased from more than a thousand to three thousand yuan. If it weren’t for an incident involving one of his students, he might never have crossed paths with Pei Xing again.

They were destined never to cross each other’s paths, and Shi Yi had no intention of engaging with Pei Xing. However, he never anticipated that Pei Xing, that despicable individual, would threaten him into a three-month relationship, using a scandal from his past.

Shi Yi had no choice but to comply.

.

After their affair concluded, he couldn’t continue in his previous job, so he moved south to work independently. He believed that their lives would never intersect again, and he hoped to lead an ordinary life, while Pei Xing being a boss, living his glamorous life.

But just half a year later, he received news about Pei Xing. It was reported that the private plane Pei Xing was traveling in had crashed, leaving no survivors.

Upon hearing this news, Shi Yi was shocked for a long time. He had forgotten how he felt at that moment, but upon reflection, he couldn’t quite believe it. During the three months he endured torment by Pei Xing, he had yearned for this day, hoping the tyrant would meet his end. However, when it finally happened, he found himself strangely desolate.

Three months after Pei Xing’s death, Shi Yi found the time to attend the funeral of the person he despised the most. What he didn’t expect was, instead of avoiding it, he ended up in a car accident on the way.

When he regained consciousness, he found himself reborn in this fictional dynasty, still facing the bleak prospect of being sold like livestock in a desolate village.
