Chapter 2: Goodbye Honey
Gim walked down the stairs, sliding his hand on the brown railing. He stumbled backwards at the last step. He paid no mind to that because his hunger was growling wildly. As soon as he entered the kitchen he wanted to turn around and go back into his safe zone, his bedroom.
Safe from the embarrassment that is his mother, Claudia Stylus, wife to the equally strange Fergunson Stylus. Claudia was currently watching her morning stretch routine on the TV set on the kitchen counter. She mimicked the lady; She was instructing her on how to stretch properly. Gim rolled his eyes at his mom and turned to his father who was acting odd as well. He had on a pair of mechanical bifocals, which extended into various scopes on top of each other. At the end of the lens you could see two big blue eyes distorted by the lens. He was currently building a Jenga tower made of sausage links. He carefully stacked the links on each other, using a pair of small tweezers.
The scene was so ridiculous Gim couldn't help but grin slightly at his parents. Breakfast at the Stylus' house was never normal. He pulled the fridge door and grabbed a cheese stick, a big plate of left over cake, cut into slices, and a bottle of strawberry milk.
He sat down across from his dad, and placed his plate of cake and the bottle of milk on the table, which surprisingly, got no reaction from his father. Gim grabbed a slice of cake with his bare hands. He brought it up to his face to observe it better. A white chocolate layer with whipped cream. The inside was a spongy marble inspired mix of flavors. One side was cinnamon, and the other was cucumber. He took a massive bite instantly tasting both the cinnamon and the refreshingly sweet cucumber. The white chocolate was good too.
His mom turned while she stretched. She let out a loud huff, as if to make her point that she was exercising.
"Hey Gimmick, sugar pie!" She said, as she held her arms in the air with one foot on the ground and the other folded.
"Your father and I wanted to celebrate our anniversary with a 10 month special cruise!" She announced with a very upbeat tone. Gim's dad simply continued placing sausages on his tower meticulously, without a clue of what was being said.
"Sho when are you leavuf" Gim asked in between a mouthful of cake and cheese stick.
"Right now!" She beamed.
The TV seemed to play louder.
The sausage link tower collapsed.
