Chapter 9.1: [Final Adjustments] Let's Gather to Finalize the Collaboration Details [Kuroneko San / Arutema]
“Kurone-san, would you like to hang out with us after this?”
It was Friday, just two days before the offline collaboration on Sunday.
I had planned to go home early today to prepare for the stream meant to finalize the details, but the popular boy in class, Haruto Kobayashi, had called out to me.
“Huh, hang out…?”
“Yeah. We’re planning a sort of late welcome party. You know, since our school doesn’t have class changes.”
A welcome party?
The group waiting in the hallway consisted of the usual bunch of extroverts that always surrounded Kobayashi-kun.
I doubt they really need to deepen their bonds at this point, but perhaps extroverts enjoy finding meaning in such seemingly pointless activities.
And they like to use fancy words to feel a bit more grown-up.
A welcome party.
An exchange meeting.
A year-end party.
They go by various names, but basically, they just want to hang out!
I wanted to say it. I wanted to tell them that I want to. But I couldn’t.
“Um, s-sorry. I, uh, I’m busy today…”
As usual, my mouth didn’t move the way I wanted it to.
I thought the daily training with Natsunami Yui-san had improved my speaking skills, but it’s different when I have to talk face-to-face in real life.
Can I really get through the offline collaboration on Sunday like this…?

“Good evening-nyan.”
Comments:
Akailukman: Good evening-nyan.
Veex: The thumbnail looks great!
Khorne: Are you planning to have a special stream today?
“The thumbnail was made by a viewer, nyan.”
Comments:
H30 Delirious: Don’t add “nyan.”
Khorne: Add more “nyan.”
“Actually, I haven’t been paying attention to my subscriber count because I’ve been so focused on the offline collaboration! So, this is a thank-you stream to get mentally prepared before the big event.”
Comments:
Mahmad: What are the details of the collaboration?
Ms.Beast: It’s a clickbait title.
KuronekoSanFan: Don’t run away from the collab.
Shut up~~~ I don’t care~~~~!!!
I’ve been doing chat streams every day, and I’m tired! Plus, I have to deal with the extroverts at school!
Can’t I just have one day where I bask in a little attention!?
“So, we’ve reached 20,000 subscribers. Has it been a week? Two weeks? Three weeks since I debuted? I don’t know, but I think it’s pretty amazing.”
Comments:
Akailukman: Amazing, she’s like a kindergarten kid.
Zzundee: Vocabulary is dead.
Janet: Even elementary school kids are smarter than her.
Khorne: Having too many chat streams has reduced your talking skills…
“Who are you calling a kindergarten kid!? I’m a second-year high school student, a blooming JK, the popular girl in class!”
Lately, I feel like my viewers have been underestimating me.
In the beginning, they were more reserved, but now they tease me full force every day.
Wait, were they ever reserved…?
Anyway!
Even though these viewers tease me a lot, I’m really grateful to them.
Even when I slip up and say something wrong, instead of mocking me, they laugh and turn it into a joke instead. I don’t think my streams are particularly entertaining, but they stick with me every day.
They’re a bunch of weirdos, but they’re good viewers.
Well, I won’t say it out loud because they’ll get too cocky!!!
“Alright, let’s dive into the usual Q&A!”

Marshmallow:
Good evening-nyan.
Kuroneko-san, you’re close with Yui-mama, but do you talk to other streamers?
“Talk…?”
Comments:
Akailukman: Ah.
Khaffar111: Why did you pick that one?
It’s sad that while others are gradually increasing their collaborations, you’re still stuck.
“Well, anyway—Speaking of which, today at school, a classmate invited me to hang out. Here’s a long-standing question: how do you invite someone to do something?”
Comments:
Aha: ?
Nanook: ??
Mahmad: ???
Collaborations don’t happen unless you invite someone or get invited. All my past collaborations were arranged by Natsunami Yui-san, and I’ve never managed to reach out to anyone other than her. The closest I’ve come is sending introductory messages to seniors and peers when I debuted. So, I don’t know how to invite people, and I don’t even know what to say in the first message.
“Why do extroverts invite others so casually? Even if they aren’t close, they can just say, ‘Let’s go to karaoke.’ Their communication skills are off the charts…”
Comments:
Kharf: You are overthinking it.
Schooooppppppppp: Honestly, I get it.
BigDickEnergy: Poor Kuroneko-san…
First of all, karaoke itself is a high hurdle. Some might think it’s a relief for introverts because you don’t have to talk while singing, but that’s not the case at all.
Introverts can’t sing in front of others in the first place.
Regardless of whether you’re close to the other person, singing in front of people is an incredibly difficult task for introverts. It’s embarrassing!
