Chapter 475: 475 Invincible: Cecil's Fear, The Viltrumite Named Omni-Man, On the Edge of a Battle to the Death and The Birth of an Obsession.

(From the GDA Headquarters)

*Cecil Stedman's POV*.

No one realizes how difficult it is to have all of humanity depend on whether I make the right decisions or not. Who would have imagined that the man who was the shield of this world would turn out to be a Trojan horse?

I have a headache...

The loss of the Guardians was devastating, so much so that it left this world defenseless. However, not all was lost. Omni-Man's son, being half-human, wouldn't be willing to turn his back on humanity so easily.

If I could just make Mark be on our side...

The image of Allen Walker came to mind. To be honest, the more I think about it, the more cautious I feel toward him. Unlike Mark (and even Nolan) his actions are unpredictable.

He is human, but we have nothing to prove that. I can't be sure that when the time comes, Allen Walker will side with us. Still, I don't think he could defeat Omni-Man... or at least, that's what I thought until I received the most surreal call of my career. And as the director of the GDA, I've seen things that most people would only see in nightmares.

"Director Stedman…"

It was Donald's voice, but it sounded terrified. This made me cautious; everyone in the GDA has high resistance to tough situations. Seeing him like this only heightened my suspicion. The first thing that came to mind was that Nolan had finally stopped pretending to be a superhero. But nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to hear.

"Sir, do you remember that you sent Allen Walker to deal with Allen The Alien?"

"Yes… don't tell me Walker lost…"

If that was the case, it wouldn't surprise me, since that alien was able to face Omni-Man and live to tell the tale.

"No, the sensors detected that Allen the alien was defeated, but there's a situation… why don't you look at the sky and see for yourself?"

I furrowed my brow, about to scold Donald for not getting straight to the point, but my curiosity got the better of me. I approached a window in my office.

I looked at the sky, only to find two moons. I was stunned. An illusion? A hoax?

On the phone, Donald destroyed all my theories.

"Director, we've confirmed it, both the diameter and mass. It's definitely a real second moon…"

"Walker, who the hell are you?!"

I grabbed my phone to call Walker and question him. But he went on to lie and joke, and after pressing for the truth, his casual response sent chills down my spine.

The way he spoke about it was as if he had broken a plate from his grandmother's china and just bought another one to replace it.

No, how the hell did he bring a moon from Jupiter?!

How did he do that in such a short amount of time?!

Why is that even possible?!

I couldn't question him any further, but one thing was clear: I had seriously underestimated Walker...

...

(Somewhere on the East Coast)

*Nolan's POV*

I flew towards the coast when I received Donald's warning about a Kaijuu that had been sighted at sea.

I can't help it I still have to act like a superhero...

I am a viltrumite, not a human. That alone raises suspicion about my altruistic actions. The Guardians never truly trusted me… and they were right.

Viltrumites aren't humanitarian heroes who travel across the universe, forming bonds of love with different civilizations... we are conquerors. We are a people who live by killing, enslaving, and eradicating others. The Viltrumite reputation is terrifying and feared.

I was no exception. Since birth, I was raised to be an elite warrior. In our society, those born inferior were discarded immediately—there was no room for weakness. However, like all great empires, we encountered difficulties. Other civilizations didn't want to be dominated, so they inevitably formed resistance. It might have seemed like a joke back in the day since a single viltrumite could eradicate an entire civilization. But one day, disaster struck. Our people were struck by a deadly virus that nearly wiped us out.

The survivors found ourselves in a very bad situation, so our regent ordered us to find species compatible with viltrumite genetics for reproduction.

As can be easily guessed, humanity was a treasure. They had the highest compatibility, and I was sent to see if viltrumite-human hybrids were viable.

Due to viltrumite genetics, it didn't matter who we reproduced with, Viltrumite's genes always dominated. But even after Mark was born, seventeen years passed and he showed no signs of awakening his powers, which meant failure and a loss of interest in this world.

I am a viltrumite. As such, I will live for thousands of years. Two decades in this world are insignificant to me. That's why my loyalty to Viltrum has never wavered. But still, I admit I enjoyed my life here. If Mark had never awakened his powers, I thought I'd live as a father and husband for as long as Debbie and Mark lived, and then return to Viltrum...

But that didn't happen...

Mark awakened his powers...

He developed them very quickly...

Human compatibility is perfect, and as a result, Viltrum will do anything to take this world. As the herald, I must prepare this world for its acquisition with as little resistance as possible, which is why I killed the Guardians. That's why I gained their trust.

There is nothing humanity can do. They don't have the strength to resist even a single viltrumite, let alone fifty pure viltrumites.

Lost in my thoughts, I arrived at the coast where a mossy-green sea monster with tentacles was. I suppose this must be something similar to the famous Kraken. I planned to eliminate it in one blow, so I clenched my fist and charged. But when I struck it, I only pushed it back. No blood, no entrails.

"RAHHH!"

The monster roared and charged at me, and we began to fight. It's hard to find a creature capable of facing a viltrumite, but there definitely are some. That's why, despite being so powerful, we choose more subtle methods to dominate worlds with races compatible with viltrumites.

...

"..."

After an intense battle, I defeated the Kraken. It was incredible that in a world where the dominant race is generally so weak, there are creatures like this...

Weak...

Humanity is weak in general, but every so often, exceptional individuals are born. Among the Guardians, there were some with enough strength to give me trouble, though the reason they wounded me to that extent was because I allowed it since my original plan was to fake a mysterious attack that killed everyone except me.

It wasn't the best plan, but it was only possible thanks to my two decades of being a superhero with a spotless reputation. It could have worked. However, a variable I couldn't foresee showed up; a visitor who arrived at the worst possible time and place.

I don't know...

Since I arrived in this world, it's the first time I've felt caution toward a human, felt that I shouldn't take them lightly. Maybe I've made a mistake in my judgment of humans.

Allen Walker...

I've never felt a name so heavy, but it makes sense because he's demonstrated increasingly greater abilities. And there's one thing that stands out.

I looked at the sky, where there was a second moon. Behind it, upon inspecting what had happened, I saw that the moon had been partially destroyed and the second one was brought from elsewhere. This exceeds the capabilities of any human I've ever known and has raised Allen Walker's danger level to that of facing another viltrumite.

I can't believe I'm placing a humble human on the same level as my race, but I can't ignore what he is truly capable of.

Now the question is, how do I deal with him?

Kill him... unlike the Guardians, I doubt I can kill him quietly. No, it's definitely impossible for him to die without the whole world finding out. Of course, I could break my facade; this identity has an expiration date anyway. Even Cecil already suspects me. The plan was to do my best until reinforcements arrived to conquer this world, but now I'm not entirely sure of my next move.

I returned to Chicago only to find panic. In the distance, I saw a ray of energy rising into the sky. I asked Cecil what was going on, and when I found out that Walker was assessing the heroes, a murderous impulse surged through me.

He was dangerous...

He was too dangerous...

A part of me thought of Debbie and Mark, but I quickly shook those thoughts away.

Allen Walker must die!

*End of POV*

...

In a situation so unfair, where superheroes were facing the most unjust enemy in existence, there was a sliver of hope.

His clothes were dirty, burned, and a little torn. Anyone who saw him would think he was injured or at least had suffered damage. That's what the superheroes thought, which gave them the feeling they could bring him down.

He wasn't Invincible...

He wasn't immortal...

He wasn't inevitable...

He wasn't untouchable...

He was a human like all of them...

However, they were wrong. The goal was never to defeat Allen but to work as a team, trust their comrades, and, above all, see their limits.

Whether it's the Justice League or the Avengers, both teams were created because, regardless of the superhero, there comes a moment when they simply aren't strong enough. An enemy or a situation arises where they can't save the day on their own, and that is the objective. At this time, it was about that kind of enemy, and although the superheroes felt that it was impossible to defeat him alone, they felt that they could do it together. That was Allen's true goal. While some clearly realized this, others did not.

Invincible attacked Allen...

"What are you doing, Invincible? Is he still in physical rotation?!"

Black Samson couldn't help but curse at Mark's recklessness. Of course, he understood why he was acting like that—it was because of the constant taunting by Allen. It was easy to see that Allen's taunts were meant to provoke them. Plus, Allen taunted everyone, not just Invincible. It was just Mark who took it personally.

Allen saw the anger in Mark's eyes. "Do you really enjoy being humiliated? Are you self-conscious, thinking that because you're half-Viltrumite, you should be superior to any human?"

"Damn it! Urgh!!"

Allen stopped Invincible's punch and then delivered a punch to his stomach that knocked the wind out of him. Invincible's legs weakened, and Allen held onto his wrist to prevent him from falling to the ground.

"Had enough, Invincible?" Allen mocked. "You must have a lot of confidence in yourself to call yourself that..."

"Go to hell! I know the truth! You're just pretending to be good. Ugh… but you have bad intentions. I won't let you fool anyone... ah..."

"Oh, so that's it? Are you jealous that Eve is so close to me? But you're supposed to be with someone else, or at least that's what Cecil said... Well, I'm no one to judge, considering my situation, but you're mistaken. I'm not cheating on Samantha. She's the one chasing me..."

"You're lying..."

Allen saw Invincible's stubbornness and felt something strange. At this point, Invincible should have given up on Eve, especially since Mark was with his school girlfriend. But he seemed to have a great hostility toward him for no reason.

'It's nothing a good beating won't solve...' Allen smiled, sending chills down Mark's spine.

Just as Allen was about to give Mark a good beating, he felt someone approaching. Allen recognized him immediately, it was Omni-Man. He crossed the sky like a comet, cutting through the clouds in his path.

Allen observed this. He had the option to dodge so Omni-Man wouldn't grow more suspicious of him, but Allen smiled. The answer was a firm "NO."

He had grown tired of pretending to be weak. Allen didn't need to be cautious around anyone, not in this world. He didn't need to escape or hide. He didn't have to endure anyone's arrogance or contempt.

As he said in Bleach, "I am strong, and I'm tired of pretending I'm not..."

With that in mind, Allen smiled with amusement when Omni-Man appeared. Allen raised his hand and took the punch from the strongest man on Earth.

The impact traveled through the sky and the earth. Allen prevented the shockwave from causing an earthquake by neutralizing the kinetic energy, and as a result, only a small crater formed beneath him.

"Good morning," Allen said calmly, facing Omni-Man's cold stare. Both were face to face, and this was the first time Omni-Man had attacked Allen.

Omni-Man looked at the man in front of him holding his fist with just one hand. A great intensity and bloodlust radiated from Omni-Man. His earlier thoughts were correct—Allen was an opponent not to be underestimated.

"Tell me, have you grown tired of pretending?" Allen mocked, seeing Omni-Man's cold gaze.

At that moment, the tension left the onlookers breathless. Was a confrontation between The Regulator and Omni-Man about to begin?

"Dad?" Mark looked at his father standing in front of Allen. The father, who had always seemed unbeatable, had been stopped by the man he disliked the most.

"Mr. Walker..." Eve placed her hand on her chest. She was worried. Even though they knew Allen was a monster, no one thought he was stronger than Omni-Man because... he was Omni-Man!

Robot received a call from Cecil, understanding the situation. Cecil was coming to intervene. This situation was very serious; not only because if they fought, they would destroy Chicago, but because inevitably one of the two would die.

...

The tension was clear, but Allen didn't make his move. He waited to see what Omni-Man would do. Would the Viltrumite break his mask prematurely, or...

Omni-Man withdrew the strength of his punch, which caused Allen to frown.

"What's wrong?"

"I think I made a mistake..." Nolan said, assessing the situation. "I felt danger and thought they were attacking the new guardians. When I arrived, I saw you attacking my son, and I momentarily lost my reason..."

"That sounds very convenient. A moment ago, you attacked me without hesitation..." Allen narrowed his eyes, provoking Omni-Man.

"That was my fault. I apologize," Omni-Man didn't take the bait and stepped back. "This looks more like a training session, doesn't it, Mark?"

Invincible, when questioned, looked at Allen. If he said no, perhaps he could start a fight between his father and Allen. But he felt chills at the thought of it. Not only would he lose any respect from his teammates, but something told him he shouldn't let his father fight Allen.

"Yes, Dad... Mr. Walker was evaluating our performance as superheroes..."

Allen looked away as if he had lost interest in continuing...

Omni-Man nodded and looked at Allen. "I'm very sorry for attacking you. This time, it was my mistake..."

...

MJ – I don't understand what's going on...

Ruby (Jean) – Me neither.

Batman – That man had intended to kill Allen, but realizing Allen's strength, he decided not to insist.

Rick – The mustachioed Superman chickened out *burp*

Ángelica (Gilgamesh) – On the other hand, Allen can't take the initiative to attack Omni-Man without reason because of his impeccable reputation.

Annie – Basically, it's the same situation in our world with Homelander. People love Omni-Man, and Allen, on the other hand, is a stranger who generates distrust. Killing Omni-Man or even attacking him would be frowned upon... it would basically make Allen seem like a monstrous psychopath in the eyes of others.

Natasha – I think you're overthinking it, Angie~. Allen doesn't attack on his own, not for that reason, but because he doesn't care~

[I.M] "Yeah, the life and death of Omni-Man are the same to me. He can be a villain or not, but as long as he behaves, I don't care~"

Harley – Daddy, that's absurd haha~

Rebecca – In the end, you don't want to lose your job for killing a superhero hahaha~

[I.M] "Well, it's true that I wouldn't want to lose this job. It's a job that lets me ruin people's days, and they pay me for it. It's the best job in the world Haha"

Allen looked at Omni-Man. If he had to fight, he would fight. If he had to kill him, he would kill him. But it all depended on what Omni-Man would choose, and apparently, he backed down.

Omni-Man, for his part, took a step back when Allen managed to stop his punch. Omni-Man didn't hold back, so if Allen died, he could claim he thought they were attacking his son. However, seeing that Allen was able to stop his punch, Nolan understood that he couldn't finish Allen with one blow. This made him prefer to keep up the superhero facade a little longer while looking for a better opportunity.

...

"You say sorry?" Allen shrugged and smiled with annoyance. "Omni-Man... no, Nolan Grayson, attacking a Regulator carrying out tasks according to his duties deserves a fine..."

"..." Omni-Man looked at Allen, and it seemed he had decided to keep up the act as well. "I understand, Mr. Walker. I will pay the fine."

Allen smiled like a swindler and made a sheet of paper appear in his hand, which he then handed to Omni-Man. He paled when he read it.

[Nolan Grayson, in light of the events, you are fined $300,000 for psychological damages, $597,000 for the injuries caused to the victim, $20,000 for legal fees, and $1 for the sheet of paper you're holding]

"What do you mean psychological damages?!" Nolan growled, angry.

Allen raised an eyebrow. "Although it doesn't seem like it, I am traumatized by being attacked by Omni-Man..."

"Over half a million for injuries?! What injuries? I didn't even hit you?!"

Allen sighed, his hand on his chest. "But you scared me, and my heart was hurt."

"HUH?!" Nolan gritted his teeth to avoid killing Allen. He didn't even want to comment on the legal fees. What the hell is that? He did everything in half a second!

Nolan felt the urge to curse. The son of a... He even charged a dollar for the sheet of paper he was holding. Is there anything more miserable than that?!

"..." Allen stayed with his smug smile. If Omni-Man didn't want to fight, he would make him bleed somewhere else—his wallet.

Omni-Man took a deep breath before putting the fine away. Maybe fighting to the death wouldn't have been so bad. Now he'd have to mortgage his house to pay for it. This felt like a kick in the balls for him.

"Mark, we'll see you at home..."

Omni-Man left the place, leaving everyone with their mouths open. Allen crossed his arms, slightly disappointed that he couldn't hit Omni-Man properly, but well, he'd have another chance shortly.

...

The evaluation ended, and the wounded were treated. Due to Allen's limitations and the good decisions made by the superheroes, there weren't many injuries.

Allen smiled and prepared to leave after saying goodbye to everyone and telling them that he had passed the test. However, as he left through the door, someone followed him.

Allen smiled and turned to see the embarrassed girl behind him. "Do you need something from me?"

"Mr. Walker... I..."

"You really want to put me in jail don't you Haha" Allen laughed further embarrassing the girl who obviously knew what Allen was referring to.
