Chapter 244: Experimenting with Fate
"Haha, be gentle, girl." Ray laughed with a chuckle.
"I am not a girl." Luo Shouchun said with a hint of annoyance in her tone.
"Oh, yeah, you are already thirty years old huh."
Ray nodded his head thoughtfully.
"Thirty years is not that old…" She grumbled with frustration in her tone with some anger in her eyes.
"I guess saying a woman's age is still forbidden huh."
Ray chuckled with an amused smile, then he looked around.
The cultivators were all looking at him wearily without words.
"Anybody want to test my authority again?" he grinned.
Nobody spoke and there was almost complete silence. Ray shook his head in disappointment as his eyes directly went to the strongest individuals in the grand room.
"Four Tier Nine cultivators." It was a little disappointing in Ray's heart, most especially because all these cultivators were all old and were at the end of their lives.
"Oh, well."
Ray sighed as he sat back and lazily leaned against his throne with a laid back expression on his face.
He knew full well the power of the attraction of Enlightenment, something that many cultivators could only dream of in their entire lifetime as it was the heaven's reward for their talents and hardwork.
Ray was able to allow others to get enlightenment by the simple method of attracting a portion of heaven's power with the help of his principles.
Actually it wasn't really artificial enlightenment but instead, Ray was only triggering the phenomenon as for whether they have the capability to benefit off it was completely dependent on themselves, their understanding of their own cultivation is tested.
"Really, though Enlightenment itself is strange." Ray thought in his heart, as he has granted many people the chance to get enlightenment he has had a certain understanding of it already.
"Enlightenment is like a lottery, if we leave it to nature, everybody has a chance to get it whether they have a talent or higher status but what does matter is that very few have the opportunity to get it."
There was already a schema forming in Ray's mind, enlightenment was closely related to the seed of cultivation, as one fed to it and got feedback from the cultivation seed which is even greater.
"There should be no way for the seed to grow if it did that would it?"
Ray froze on the spot, his hand gradually tightening on the armrest of his throne, while he looked fiercely ahead.
"Is he crazy?"
The cultivators around looked at the strange unusual behaviour of Ray with a puzzled expression.
At this time, the Qi in the surrounding moved as four people hidden in the each corned finally opened there eyes:
"Should we make a move brother?"
"... Are you a fool, we would be dead if we do this, don't forget he came from another realm."
"But his lifeform is that of merely a Tier Nine at most, no matter whether they came from another universe or not, their life form almost always remains the same."
"Hmm, the benefits outweigh the gains…"
"How does the benefits outweigh the gains? We can gain a huge amount of rewards from Mount Sumeru if we can do this. Maybe we can even have a chance to achieve godhood."
The four instantaneously moved, their figure turning into a blur.
Then a splash of blood fell to the ground, staining it and a head fell to the ground with a thud, bouncing on the ground.
Blood gushed out like a dam as the golden throne was splashed with blood.
Under their stunned eyes, Ray's head severed effortlessly without any resistance as if he couldn't react in time.
"How is this possible? Is it so easy to kill him?" The man who severed Ray's head looked at his own katana with disbelief, then at the wide eyes of the severe head.
He tilted his head to the floor:
"Hehehe, hahaha."
He started to laugh with madness with a smug smile, raising his katana, "I did it, now I have a chance to become God."
"Do you know that overconfidence only leads to harm?"
A deep voice resounded in his ears…
Thump! Thump!
His heart beat violently, then right in front of his eyes, the whole reality of his distorted, the next moment he was in a dark, deep void. A void completely absent of light.
"What is this place?"
Heart quivering with fear, he looked up to see a giant Ray. He was still the same as ever with long white hair and two eyes with golden and crimson colour however he seemed to be as vast as reality itself could adjust and as divine as the imagination and it's beyond.
"I…" he gulped, his knees failing to the ground with tears in his eyes: "Please forgive me, god."
"Good." The Giant Ray grinned in a divine blinding light.

"So what do you think about, master Ray?"
"Well, these." Ray casually pointed at the four people who were at the corner of the room, seemingly asleep.
"They are so rude…"
"Would you believe me if I said that they were Tier Eight Cultivators?"
"Huh?" Luo Shouchun paused with her eyes wide with a little disbelief: "They are Tier Eight."
"Yeah, they seem to be here for my head."
Ray squinted his eyes with a mysterious smile on his face:
"They have already been solved though." he snapped his fingers.
Immediately the four fell to the ground, their pupils turned upwards, convulsing their bodies as they directly fainted. In a few moments they woke up, bowing to Ray with complete devotion, frantically praying to him with all their hearts.
"Hmm, kill youself."
"Yes, lord." They raised weapons high in the air and were about to slash themselves.
"Stop."
At the right moment, Ray gave the command with a scowl on his brows:
"How do I get this fate energy? Although they seemed to be completely devoted to me, I don't feel anything." Stay updated with My Virtual Library Empire
His brain was rapidly converging through his thoughts, everything he had learnt about Fater Energy as a whole from the bear to the cultivation seed to the principles to the mysterious thing behind it all.
