I Have a Girlfriend in Marvel

Chapter 96: Three Ninja Girls: Go Big or Go Home

There's a saying: money only counts as money when it's spent; otherwise, it's just numbers.

The same goes for cards. Although he only had one [Upgrade Card] and one [Multiple Card], it seemed smarter to save them for later when the rewards could be better.

But on the other hand, only the abilities you hold are truly yours. Waiting to accumulate enough Blue or Purple cards for a ten-draw would drive Su Ye crazy.

Su Ye also suspected that if he didn't use these special cards, the system might not issue new ones.

Exhaling deeply, Su Ye decided to stop overthinking and used the [Girlfriend Card (Blue★)], [Upgrade Card], and [Multiple Card] together.

Ding! [Upgrade Card] can only be used on standard Girlfriend Cards. [Multiple Card] is ready for use. Would you like to proceed with the [Girlfriend Card (Blue★)] and [Multiple Card]?

Hearing the system's prompt, Su Ye realized that the [Upgrade Card] had usage restrictions. Oh well, nothing could be done about it.

Ding! You've opened the [Girlfriend Card (Blue★)] and received an excellent-grade "Ninja Beauty" card. Using it will grant you a ninja girlfriend.

Upon hearing "Ninja Beauty," Su Ye's first thought was, Am I getting another Mai Shiranui?

One Mai in red, another in blue—a twin combo, double the pressure, double the fun?

Hiss... sounds pretty exciting!

Ding! [Multiple Card] activated. You now have multiple Ninja Beauty options. Please make your selection.

The system continued, and three images appeared before Su Ye.

One was a blonde girl with four ponytails and black eyes.

Another was a girl with short pink hair and green eyes.

The last was a shy-looking girl with black hair and white eyes.

No Mai Shiranui.

The three images came with brief introductions—and that was it.

Su Ye frowned as he looked at the three girls.

Their names were Temari, Sakura Haruno, and Hinata Hyuga from the Naruto world. All were popular, well-loved kunoichi... well, maybe not the middle one.

Temari, from the Hidden Sand Village, had a natural "boss lady" aura—strong, assertive, and cool.

Lady Hinata needed no introduction—gentle, loyal, the epitome of a Yamato Nadeshiko, and blessed with a generous figure!

Sakura Haruno... sharp-tongued, overly emotional, and prone to whining. Let's leave it at that.

The purpose of the [Multiple Card] wasn't just to reveal who could be drawn from this Girlfriend Card but also to let Su Ye make a choice.

If characters like Tsunade, Mei Terumi, or Samui were options, Su Ye might've hesitated—after all, each came with... substantial assets, and adults hate making tough choices.

But with these three kunoichi? Temari was great, but Shikamaru's abilities shone best with the Ino-Shika-Cho trio.

As for Sakura, sure, Sasuke's Sharingan was cool, but overuse led to blindness. Plus, Su Ye genuinely disliked her...

Ultimately, those were just excuses. Su Ye simply wanted Hinata. He liked them... big. Cards on the table!

What gave Su Ye pause was that all three girls looked about 12 or 13. If they were under 14... three years minimum...

Exhaling, Su Ye pushed his guilty finger forward. Three years? I'll wait!

Ding! [Excellent-grade Girlfriend Card "Ninja Beauty" activated. Ninja girlfriend delivery in progress...]

Having made his choice, all that remained was to wait.

Su Ye wasn't sure if this ninja girlfriend would turn out like his last, the Nightstalker Catwoman, whom he had only met briefly once in the past month.

But honestly, as long as he got the abilities, that was enough. The girlfriend part was just a bonus, right?

Lying on the bed, Su Ye suddenly felt drowsy. His eyes grew heavy, and his body heated up as if he had caught a fever. Just before he drifted off, a fleeting thought crossed his mind, but he was too tired to grasp it.

That night, Su Ye dreamed again—a world filled with explosions and roars, bathed entirely in crimson flames.

In the dream, a massive entity was rampaging, killing indiscriminately. Su Ye felt powerless, unable to do anything, until...

He woke up from the dream.

Upon waking, Su Ye's first instinct was to call his father.

Reflecting on his past abilities—Spider-Man, Andy Bogard, Batman—he noticed a glaring commonality: they were all orphans.

Back then, since the cards didn't explicitly state whose powers he'd gain, Su Ye didn't dwell on the "parental sacrifice for supreme power" trope.

But now, after unlocking Hinata's card and having that dream, Su Ye felt an unsettling fear.

The call connected quickly. Hearing his mom's voice and his dad's boisterous shouting in the background put Su Ye at ease.

"Xiao Ye, why are you calling at this hour? Your dad's drinking with some friends. What's up?"

"Oh, nothing…" Su Ye began, but his dad's loud voice cut in from the background.

"Back in my day, I'd teleport over with Flying Thunder God, shove a Rasengan in each of their mouths, and teach those cowards a lesson for bullying two girls!"

His mom followed up, "Your dad's drunk again, bragging to your Uncle Xiang. Don't mind him. What's going on? Talk to me."

"Uncle Xiang?" Su Ye frowned. He couldn't recall knowing anyone by that name.

"Oh, your dad's old comrade, Xiang Rizhu. He's visited before, but it was a crowded gathering—you probably don't remember," his mom explained.

"His daughter, Xiao Tian, is heading to New York to study soon. He wanted your dad's advice. By the way, when Xiao Tian arrives, take good care of her—you two have a betrothal agreement! She's only 13, but she's grown into such a lovely young lady…"

As his mom continued, Su Ye froze in shock.

Xiang Rizhu's daughter, Xiao Tian... Is it Xiao Hinata or Hyuga Hinata? Xiang? No, it's Hyuga, right?

Hinata's father, Hiashi Hyuga, being a comrade of Minato Namikaze? That actually checks out.

But why would 13-year-old Hinata have a betrothal to me? Setting aside the archaic custom, can people five or six years apart even have a betrothal agreement?

"Mom," Su Ye interrupted, cautiously but with a hint of curiosity, "About what Dad said earlier—Flying Thunder God, Rasengan?"

"Oh, don't listen to your dad's nonsense!" his mom denied hastily. "We live in a peaceful society; there's no need for Flying Thunder God or Rasengan. But over there in New York, I heard things aren't so calm lately. Oh, by the way…"

On the other end, his mom suddenly called out, "Old Su, stop drinking and find that scroll! Xiao Tian will take it to Xiao Ye!"

After hanging up, Su Ye felt conflicted.

So it really is Dad's system—or rather, it's both of my parents' now.

I opened the Hinata card, didn't get Hinata, didn't learn any ninjutsu, and only ended up with a swirl seal on my navel. Meanwhile, my parents are out here—one acting like the Fourth Hokage and the other definitely not an ordinary person. No way.

And Dad's comrade, Xiang Rizhu? Does that mean there's also Xiang Rizhan, Yu Fugaku, Liang Shikaku, Zhong Haiichi, and a bunch of others?

That's a lot of people. Things are getting complicated. I wonder if Yu Fugaku is still around...

Fine, those aren't the real issues. The real issue is: how do I handle a 13-year-old Hinata coming to live with me?

They say three years is a generational gap. With almost six years between us, that's a canyon. In her eyes, am I already an old man? Can this relationship even work?

Three days later, when Hinata appeared before him, Su Ye realized that generational gaps might exist with Sakura or Temari, but not with Hinata.

"Brother Ye! It's been so long!"

Hinata, her face flushed, looked at Su Ye with a mix of excitement and shyness. Her gentle and endearing demeanor made him want to hug her tightly and never let go.

With her Yamato Nadeshiko qualities, Hinata Hyuga would find ways to bridge any gap.

Unfortunately, there was a third wheel.

"Hello, Brother Ye. I'm Xiang Ningci, Hinata's cousin," the third wheel said, eyeing Su Ye with a cautious glare. Clearly, despite being her cousin, he was also a protective brother figure.

"Ahem! Nice to meet you, Neji. Welcome to America."

Su Ye laughed awkwardly and then dropped them off at their school.

They were both here as exchange students, enrolled in the same boarding middle school, which was convenient for looking out for each other.

By the way, their school was the middle school division of Midtown High, making them Su Ye's junior schoolmates.

After telling them to settle in and arranging to pick them up for dinner later, Su Ye rushed home, carrying the scroll Hinata had brought from his mom.

The so-called scroll was a hefty roll titled The Scroll of Seals.

Su Ye's heart raced with excitement at the sight of those four characters.

The Scroll of Seals! It contained countless forbidden jutsu, many of which were created by Tobirama Senju, the "Ninjutsu Innovator," and deemed too dangerous to be widely taught.

If he could master everything in this scroll, Su Ye would... well, okay, this was the Marvel universe. Even a Kage-level shinobi wouldn't cause much of a stir here.

After all, the Shiranui Dojo still had a literal god locked up inside.

While mastering the Scroll of Seals wouldn't make Su Ye invincible, it would greatly expand his combat repertoire.

With an eager heart and trembling hands, Su Ye carefully unrolled the Scroll of Seals. He saw familiar techniques: Substitution Jutsu, Transformation Jutsu, Rasengan, Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu... and that was it.

That's it?

Su Ye felt cheated. This massive scroll had only four jutsu listed. Wasn't this false advertising?

Or did he have to pay extra to unlock the rest?

Calling his mom yielded a single response: "Keep the scroll safe. Master those four jutsu first, and we'll talk about the rest!"

Su Ye sighed and resigned himself to studying the four jutsu.

First up was Substitution Jutsu, an E-rank technique mandatory for all ninja trainees. It consumed chakra to swap places with a nearby object, allowing it to take the hit in your stead.

Substitution Jutsu was one of the simplest techniques in the ninjutsu hierarchy.

But Su Ye had always questioned this: In the split second before being struck, you swap places with a nearby object. Isn't that basically teleportation?

How could such a skill be classified as E-rank?
