I Have a Girlfriend in Marvel

Chapter 30: Tung Fu Rue’s Signature Taunt Move

When Su Ye saw the young man with the broom-like hairstyle, his first reaction was:

Buddy, how much gel did you put on your hair? Isn't it heavy? Doesn't it attract flies? Isn't it a hassle to fix every morning? It's so stiff, doesn't it feel uncomfortable?

But then, after taking a closer look at the person's face and age, Su Ye's lips couldn't help but twitch.

Why does this guy look somewhat familiar?

"Are you the owner of this dojo? Shiranui-ryu Dojo—so, are you Japanese too?"

Su Ye shook his head. "I'm from the Dragon Country, but that doesn't stop me from being the owner of this dojo. Today is our grand opening, and strictly speaking, coming here to challenge us like this is quite rude."

"However, since the dojo is now open, whether you're here to learn or to challenge us, we will take you on. Please, go ahead."

After saying that, Su Ye didn't waste any time and directly led the way to the training ground.

The young man with the broom-head hairstyle followed behind, a smirk appearing on his face.

"You're not bad. You didn't try to brush me off with some fake polite talk. I like your style. Once I beat you, I wouldn't mind staying to enjoy a drink at your grand opening."

Nearby, Shun Ying leaned toward Mai Shiranui and whispered, "Sister-in-law, is this guy an idiot? He thinks he can beat Senior Brother Su and then stay to drink? How shameless!"

Mai Shiranui glared at him. "You're focusing on the wrong thing, little brother. Do you really think your Senior Brother Su will lose?"

"Huh? That's true!" Shun Ying scratched his head and, seeing Mai Shiranui's stern gaze, quickly turned around and shouted.

"Go, Senior Brother! Beat that broom-head! Show him how strong you are!"

On the training ground, the guests attending the opening ceremony had already surrounded the area. They, too, were eager to see what skills this new dojo master possessed and what abilities the challenger had.

On the field, Su Ye and the broom-head stood opposite each other, clasped their fists, and bowed as a sign of respect.

"Su Ye, inheritor of the Shiranui-ryu style and master of the Shiranui Dojo!"

Across from him, the broom-head stripped off his tracksuit, leaving only a pair of athletic shorts, revealing his muscular upper body.

"Tung Fu Rue, Muay Thai! Ora Ora!"

As he spoke, instead of bowing, this guy bizarrely turned around, pulled down his shorts in front of Su Ye, and started doing a shimmy dance.

At that moment, everyone in the dojo—dozens of onlookers—felt like they'd been smacked upside the head by a herd of llamas.

What the heck!?

In all their years, it was the first time they'd seen someone challenge a dojo and, upon arrival, immediately pull down their pants and perform a provocative dance. Is this what the younger generation is into now?

No matter the outcome of the battle, the name of this Muay Thai fighter, Tung Fu Rue, would be forever etched in everyone's memory like a carving on stone, never to be forgotten.

It was just too much for the eyes.

Su Ye immediately covered his forehead, feeling a headache coming on.

Tung Fu Rue's pants-dropping move was a signature taunt in the earlier versions of The King of Fighters games. However, as the resolution improved in later versions, the move was removed.

Perhaps they were worried that with the higher clarity, people might notice he had… hemorrhoids. Ahem!

This was too unexpected! Why did I have to be Spider-Man, why did my eyesight have to be so good, and why, oh why, did I instinctively look? I feel like gouging my eyes out!

Su Ye was frustrated enough to want to die.

Tung Fu Rue was the third member of the Hungry Wolves team alongside the Bogard brothers and Andy's best friend. If Mai Shiranui's appearance was likely to trigger a storyline, Tung Fu Rue would inevitably show up.

However, Gwen hadn't found any intel about South Town before, so Su Ye wasn't mentally prepared. Plus, he never expected Tung Fu Rue to pull such an indecent move in front of a crowd.

He had let his guard down!

While the crowd was dumbfounded by this taunt, Tung Fu Rue felt no shame. Instead, he wore a triumphant smirk, as though his devious plan had succeeded.

Then, he quickly pulled up his shorts and, without missing a beat, stepped forward and charged at Su Ye, raising his knee with a whoosh, aiming straight for Su Ye's chin.

Even though Su Ye was still covering his face, his Spider Sense detected Tung Fu Rue's attack in time. He immediately slid backward, dodging the blow.

However, after missing his first strike, Tung Fu Rue pressed forward again. As a Muay Thai fighter, he specialized in leg attacks, and his speed was as swift as the wind.

In The King of Fighters, characters' attacks often carried a mysterious energy. If a move hit the enemy, it could cause effects like stagger or launch them into the air. Once the opponent was within striking range, a combo could potentially finish them off.

Previously, when Su Ye fought the Green Goblin, he had triggered similar effects.

Of course, these effects didn't trigger randomly; they required hitting specific body parts. Thus, they could be avoided beforehand. Even if triggered, the effects didn't last long. If the strength difference between the two fighters was too great, the effects might not activate at all.

If you sent Tung Fu Rue to fight Thanos with the full six-stone Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos would likely remain invincible, with no effects activating and no damage dealt—it'd be like trying to scratch an itch.

However, Su Ye and Tung Fu Rue were similar in size and strength. If Su Ye were hit, he would definitely suffer the effects of a judgment call.

After sliding back to dodge Tung Fu Rue's knee strike, Su Ye didn't evade further. Instead, he charged forward, closing the distance between them.

Su Ye's bone-style technique was also designed for close combat. Coupled with his superhuman strength and reaction speed, he could seamlessly blend soft and hard moves. Even in close quarters, he could rely on his heightened reflexes to dodge Tung Fu Rue's strikes and negate the effects of his moves.

In close combat, Tung Fu Rue immediately felt the pressure. Despite Su Ye's fair and delicate appearance, his strength was extraordinary. Even Tung Fu Rue's legs, trained in Muay Thai since childhood and capable of kicking through iron rods, began to feel sore and numb.

Moreover, Su Ye's reactions were quick, and his stamina was incredible. Not only could Tung Fu Rue not land a combo, but at this rate, he'd probably tire himself out before he could break Su Ye's legs.

The most infuriating part was that Su Ye hadn't even attacked yet. His defense alone rendered all of Tung Fu Rue's attacks useless.

So frustrating!

Tung Fu Rue wanted to finish the fight quickly, but without his moves triggering their effects, he couldn't unleash high-damage combos. Moreover, his ultimate move was so destructive that using it might blow the roof off the dojo.

He had only come for a fight and maybe a free meal afterward, not to make an enemy for life.

But if he didn't do anything, wouldn't he just look like a fool?

Tung Fu Rue's mind went blank, and in a fit of determination, he clenched his fists. Time to go all out!
