Chapter 28: Iron Man is Coming
Hanzo Shiranui, now advanced in age, had come to terms with many things, but he held one unwavering goal: to pass down the Shiranui-ryu style. This was why he had established his dojo.
Relying solely on Mai Shiranui, a young woman, to uphold the tradition was unrealistic.
As a female leader, she might not earn the full respect and acceptance of the disciples. Moreover, practical concerns arose: what if troublemakers came to challenge the dojo during her off days?
Would she fight while injured? What if a wardrobe malfunction occurred mid-fight? That could be disastrous!
With age came wisdom and foresight, unlike Su Ye's headstrong approach—plunging headfirst into challenges until utterly exhausted.
While independence was important for women, Hanzo believed it would be ideal if Mai had a dependable man to support her.
Su Ye was unaware of Hanzo's internal musings. All he knew was that in the dojo, Hanzo catered to his every request. Whether it was learning Koppō or Shiranui-style Ninjutsu, Hanzo even offered him a ninja outfit.
However, Su Ye firmly declined.
Crossdressing wasn't entirely off the table for him, but Mai's outfit? Absolutely not.
Even Mai's traditional revealing outfit didn't sit well with him. He couldn't just stand by while his girlfriend flaunted herself in such attire—he wasn't Andy, after all.
Initially, Mai was resistant. The outfit was a traditional symbol of their style, and changing it was against the rules.
But when Su Ye presented his concept art and tailored the new outfit himself, she changed her mind.
Mai had plenty of alternate costumes in other games—wedding dresses, nurse outfits, maid dresses, bunny suits, to name a few.
However, Su Ye opted for the "Charm Whisper" costume from Honor of Kings. While still a low-cut, short-skirted design, it offered more coverage than her original ninja outfit and boasted an elegant aesthetic.
Initially, he considered a custom white cheongsam but worried about potential clashes with other iconic characters, like Chun-Li from Street Fighter. So, he settled on "Charm Whisper."
"This outfit is beautiful!" Mai exclaimed, donning the new costume immediately.
Using her ninja techniques, she changed outfits in an instant, leaving Su Ye dumbfounded at how even his Spider-Man-enhanced eyesight couldn't catch her movements.
Truly ridiculous!
Now left holding her old ninja outfit… ahem!
[Character: Mai Shiranui]
[Current Affection Level: 80 (Adoration)]
[Tip: Young man, your charm and thoughtfulness have won her heart. Can your skills win her body?]
"Enough with the hints!" Su Ye groaned internally.
Over the past week, Su Ye not only boosted Mai's affection level but also mastered Koppō and Shiranui-style techniques, becoming a fully upgraded version of Andy.
After defeating the Green Goblin, he received a new upgrade card, heightening his anticipation for future draws.
Now, he was focused on an urgent matter.
"Forget the fans for now. Have you found any information on South Town?"
Gwen, now adept at hacking, had been helping him search for this mysterious location.
South Town, a fictional city from Fatal Fury, was where Terry and Andy grew up and the base of their enemy, Geese Howard.
Unfortunately, Gwen's search yielded no results.
"Keep an eye out. Let me know if anything pops up."
"Will do. Oh, and by the way, Tony Stark is coming to New York. Everyone's excited about a potential showdown between Iron Man and Spider-Man."
Su Ye rolled his eyes. "Even here, the internet never sleeps."
