I Got Reincarnated As Danzo!?

Chapter 17: Chapter 16 Are You Human?

Not far from the Valley of the End, two figures—one tall and one small—stood atop a high cliff, observing the climactic battle unfolding below.

"Sensei... are those two really human?"

Danzo's voice was laced with disbelief. Seeing the battle in real life was far more shocking than anything depicted in the anime. The sheer devastation was beyond his imagination.

"It seems so," Tobirama replied, his usual calm facade slightly faltering. "Though, I rarely see my brother fight this seriously."

Even as the Second Hokage, Tobirama couldn't deny that the power on display was overwhelming. Hashirama and Madara's battle resembled the legendary clash of the Sage of Six Paths rather than a fight between mortals.

In the distance, Tailed Beast Bombs and high-level jutsu collided in rapid succession, shaking the very land beneath them. The sheer force of their battle alone was enough to create hurricanes. The shockwaves could obliterate an average Chūnin without leaving a trace.

Of course, Danzo wasn't included in that assessment. He had enough skill to at least leave behind a corpse.

"Watch closely and learn," Tobirama instructed. "Observing their battle will be valuable to your growth. That's why I brought you here."

Danzo watched intently, his eyes locked onto the battle. He felt something—an instinct, an insight—beginning to take shape. But before he could grasp it fully, a massive boulder, uprooted by the battlefield's chaos, hurtled toward them with terrifying force.

It was the size of a person and carried the momentum of a cannonball.

Danzo snapped out of his trance, and that fleeting feeling of clarity started slipping away.

'Damn, was I about to have a breakthrough?'

Tobirama folded his arms and shot him a glance. "Handle it."

Realizing that his teacher wasn't going to intervene, Danzo sighed, gripping the wooden practice sword at his waist.

**Wind Release: Vacuum Blade.**

Enhancing his weapon with both techniques, he focused on the incoming rock.

Wait.

'I can hear it breathing?'

His expression sharpened as he instinctively shifted his stance. Instead of cutting the rock, he thrust his sword forward, striking at its weak point.

In an instant, the boulder crumbled into dust.

**[Congratulations, Host! You have comprehended Observation Haki.]**

Tobirama raised an eyebrow. "You managed to grasp it?"

Danzo, still processing what had happened, nodded. "Grasp what? That empty-headed state? Have you experienced it too, Sensei?"

Tobirama smirked. "How else do you think I came up with so many jutsu?"

He looked down at Danzo with a smug expression.

Danzo frowned. "Sensei… why do I feel like you're mocking me?"

"Be confident."

"Really?"

Tobirama's smirk widened. "I'm absolutely mocking you."

"…"

Danzo's smile froze.

'Just wait until I'm strong enough to beat you, old man.'

Tobirama sighed, shaking his head. 'Good talent, but his brain needs work.'

Both master and student let out simultaneous sighs of frustration.

They continued watching as the battle raged on from night until dawn. By the time the sun rose, the once-mighty landscape had been reshaped by the sheer force of Hashirama and Madara's battle. Mountains were reduced to rubble, rivers diverted, and forests flattened.

Meanwhile, Danzo had accumulated a small pile of sunflower seed shells beside him.

Noticing Tobirama's gaze, he grabbed a handful and offered them to his teacher.

"…"

Moments later, another pile of shells joined his.

"Sensei, do you think we'll ever reach Hokage-sama's level?" Danzo asked between bites.

Tobirama cracked another seed and thought for a moment. "Hard to say. I still have a ways to go myself."

"And me?" Danzo pressed.

Tobirama cleared his throat. "Ah… your future looks promising."

"…"

Danzo frowned. "Sensei, have a little more confidence in me!"

Tobirama knocked the last seed from its shell and stood up. "Quit mumbling and move. Didn't you notice? They've taken the fight to the beach."

Danzo rubbed his head, grumbling, before summoning his **Toothless**. The small dragon was still growing, but it could carry him—just not very fast. Still, it was quicker than running.

"Sensei, aren't you coming?" he asked as he climbed onto Toothless's back.

Tobirama pulled a special kunai from his pouch and tossed it to him. "Take this."

Danzo caught it and examined the seals engraved into its handle.

"Wait… isn't this the legendary **Flying Thunder God Kunai**?"

Tobirama's eye twitched. "Yes, now get going!"

Danzo grinned and urged Toothless forward, laughing to himself.

'So, Sensei doesn't like getting interrupted mid-monologue, huh? Serves him right after all those times he did it to me!'

—---

Following the path of destruction left in the wake of the battle, Danzo marveled at the devastation. Entire forests had been reduced to nothing, leaving behind a clear "road" carved by sheer force.

'Honestly, with power like this, why not go into construction? If I had this strength in my past life, I would've rebuilt the Great Wall single-handedly and installed an elevator on Mount Everest.'

Eventually, he caught up to the battlefield.

Two titanic figures clashed—the **Perfect Susanoo** against the **Thousand-Armed Buddha**.

"See? This is their true power," Tobirama said, suddenly appearing beside Danzo.

As the battle reached its conclusion, both titans faded. Madara was nowhere to be seen, and Hashirama staggered forward, exhausted but victorious.

Danzo and Tobirama rushed to his side. Tobirama draped Hashirama's Hokage robe over him to cover the tattered remains of his battle-worn attire.

Danzo, however, had other plans.

'Madara's body should still be around. I can't let Black Zetsu snatch it first!'

Summoning several **Shadow Clones**, he sent them to search the battlefield. But as they arrived, a blade of water sliced through them, leaving only one standing.

Danzo's eyes widened as he saw the attacker through his clone's vision.

**It was Tobirama.**

The clone turned to face its master, its expression frozen in shock.

Tobirama, unaware of what he had done, glared at the remaining figure. "Surrender Uchiha Madara, and I'll spare your life."

Danzo groaned internally.

'Great. I've been framed. Is this my fate as Danzo?'

The Shadow Clone gripped its sword, ready to face its inevitable demise with dignity.

Tobirama narrowed his eyes. "Still resisting? Very well."

With a flick of his wrist, a **Water Blade Slash** engulfed the last clone, erasing it completely.

At that moment, Tobirama blinked as the clone's memories returned to him.

'Wait… I killed a shadow clone?'

He slowly turned to Hashirama. "Brother, I sent a clone to check Madara's body. It was gone. But there were strange, black-cloaked figures at the scene."

Hashirama's tired expression hardened. "Accomplices? Madara was definitely dead when I left him. Were they after his body… for his Sharingan?"

Tobirama frowned. "That would explain the newspaper incident… those figures were involved back then, too. If it's the same group, this all makes sense."

Danzo gulped as they continued their discussion.

Especially when they brought up **"the newspaper incident."**

He clenched his fists and forced himself to stay silent.
