I, Gary, Want to Become a Pokemon Master

"Come back, Flareon."

Just as Ash was about to launch an attack, Blaine recalled his Flareon. He had already gauged Ash's strength. 

If he fought him like he did with Gary, this battle would be meaningless.

"Huh? Why did you take it back?" Ash asked in confusion.

"Nothing, I just want to exercise each of my Pokémon. My second Pokémon is Rhydon," Blaine said, throwing the Poké Ball.

"Great! [LV42 Rhydon/Quasi-Elite]"

Blaine replaced it with a lower-level Rhydon, which was just the right level. However, Charizard saw Rhydon and had no interest in it at all, looking sleepy.

After evolving, Charizard was unwilling to fight weak Pokémon and wanted to compete with strong rivals.

"Then let the battle continue. Rhydon, attack with Horn Drill," Blaine commanded, and Rhydon charged towards Charizard.

"Charizard, use Flamethrower!" Ash ordered.

Instead, it stood still, waiting for Rhydon to come over, and held Rhydon's head with both hands, using Superpower to block Rhydon's attack.

Rhydon's physical attack ability is not weak, much stronger than Charizard's. Although Ash's Charizard is gifted, it will sooner or later get into trouble if it acts recklessly.

After blocking Rhydon, Charizard quickly went behind Rhydon, hooked its arms around Rhydon's armpits, and swung Dual Wingbeat vigorously, taking Rhydon soaring into the sky, spinning its body and ascending.

However, in the gyms that Ash can't beat, something will happen inexplicably, and Ash happens to help. 

The gym leader sees Ash's help and gives him the badge.

In terms of training Pokémon, it also focuses on training Pikachu and Charizard, and the rest of the Pokémon are not very well-trained.
