I, Gary, Want to Become a Pokemon Master

Chapter 119: Chapter 119: Disobedient Charizard

"Come back, Flareon."

Just as Ash was about to launch an attack, Blaine recalled his Flareon. He had already gauged Ash's strength.

If he fought him like he did with Gary, this battle would be meaningless.

"Huh? Why did you take it back?" Ash asked in confusion.

"Nothing, I just want to exercise each of my Pokémon. My second Pokémon is Rhydon," Blaine said, throwing the Poké Ball.

"Great! [LV42 Rhydon/Quasi-Elite]"

Blaine replaced it with a lower-level Rhydon, which was just the right level. However, Charizard saw Rhydon and had no interest in it at all, looking sleepy.

Blaine was also confused and couldn't understand what Charizard was doing.

Although it was obvious that Charizard was sleepy, Blaine didn't want to believe it and thought Ash had some tactics. But the next second...!

"Please, Charizard, fight. I'm begging you," Ash pleaded pitifully.

Charizard was indifferent and scratched itself without any intention of fighting.

"It seems that your level as a Trainer is not good enough," Blaine said.

"Hey! Charizard, remember me?" Gary suddenly spoke.

"Roar?"

Charizard didn't pay much attention just now, but after hearing Gary's voice continuously, it immediately looked at Gary.

"Remember the battle with my Blastoise? You lost to me," Gary reminded.

"Roar!!"

Charizard was immediately angry. Of course, it remembered losing to Gary's Blastoise.

Now that it had evolved into Charizard, it wanted to defeat Gary's Blastoise and avenge its previous defeat.

"Gary... what are you going to do? Why provoke Charizard?" Ash didn't know what Gary was planning and couldn't react for a while.

"If you want to fight my Blastoise, defeat the Trainer in front of you and show me if you're qualified now," Gary said.

"Roar!"

Charizard looked at Rhydon, its eyes flashing with fighting spirit, changing from the tired state it was in before.

"Great, Charizard, you're finally willing to fight," Ash said in surprise.

"Ash, Charizard is fighting only because it wants to battle Blastoise," Misty said, exasperated.

"Although that's true, the current situation is good. Otherwise, Ash would have one less Pokémon to fight," Brock said.

Gary watched silently. He knew what kind of personality Ash's Charizard had.

After evolving, Charizard was unwilling to fight weak Pokémon and wanted to compete with strong rivals.

To show its strength, Ash would release Charizard to fight any opponent, which made Charizard uninterested in fighting.

Unless the opponent showed enough strength, Charizard would look down on it, and even if it was willing to fight, it wouldn't obey Ash's instructions.

"Then let the battle continue. Rhydon, attack with Horn Drill," Blaine commanded, and Rhydon charged towards Charizard.

"Charizard, use Flamethrower!" Ash ordered.

However, Charizard did not follow Ash's instructions.

Instead, it stood still, waiting for Rhydon to come over, and held Rhydon's head with both hands, using Superpower to block Rhydon's attack.

"What a mess."

Rhydon's physical attack ability is not weak, much stronger than Charizard's. Although Ash's Charizard is gifted, it will sooner or later get into trouble if it acts recklessly.

After blocking Rhydon, Charizard quickly went behind Rhydon, hooked its arms around Rhydon's armpits, and swung Dual Wingbeat vigorously, taking Rhydon soaring into the sky, spinning its body and ascending.

Rhydon, a Ground-type Pokémon, was suddenly taken to the sky, felt dizzy, and had no way to fight back.

"Great, Seismic Toss!" Ash shouted loudly.

"Roar!!"

The Fire Dragon flew to a height of dozens of meters, then fell towards the ground. When it was about to approach the ground, it threw Rhydon onto the ground.

Boom!!!

A deep pit was smashed into the ground, and Rhydon lost consciousness and was knocked out instantly.

"What a great force!" Blaine was also confused. Rhydon weighs more than 200 pounds, and it was too cruel for Charizard to catch it and fly it up to the sky.

Blaine finally understood that the Pokémon in front of Ash were of different strengths, some were strong, and some were weak.

This situation can only be encountered in the novice period.

Normally, later on, a Trainer knows that they can't just train one Pokémon but must improve the strength of the entire team.

However, Ash is a special case. Normally, if a gym can't be beaten, a Trainer will train a Pokémon that counters the gym's attributes.

However, in the gyms that Ash can't beat, something will happen inexplicably, and Ash happens to help.

The gym leader sees Ash's help and gives him the badge.

Ash has collected 6 badges so far, four of which were given by others, and only two badges were obtained by defeating the gym leader, which is quite fortunate.

In terms of training Pokémon, it also focuses on training Pikachu and Charizard, and the rest of the Pokémon are not very well-trained.

"Your Charizard is well-trained, but it doesn't follow your instructions," Blaine commented.

"Haha... This is indeed a problem. I will correct it later. Mr. Blaine, you should quickly send out a Pokémon," Ash urged, worried that Charizard would not obey again, which would be a headache.

Blaine also saw Ash's difficulty and then sent out the third Pokémon.

"My third Pokémon is this, come on, Magmar!" Blaine threw the Poké Ball.

Great!

Magmar was covered with flame patterns, and there were two tumor-like objects protruding on its forehead, emitting flames.

[LV45 Magmar/Elite]

Only level 45!

Gary always thought that Blaine's Magmar was very high-level, but now he understands.

In the animation, Blaine saw that Ash had helped him, so the level of the Pokémon he sent out was not high, which was almost a let-down.

In this way, Ash's eight badges are quite fortunate, but this is also normal. Most of the players in the Indigo Plateau Conference held by the Kanto League are not very strong.

Gary felt that it would not be difficult for him to win the Indigo Plateau Conference. There should be no more than four people who can really threaten him.

"What is this Pokémon?" Ash saw Magmar for the first time and took out the Pokédex to scan it.

Pokédex: "Magmar, the Spitfire Pokémon. It has a hot body and its mouth will spit flames. It is said to be found near the mouth of a volcano."
