I Flirted with the General in the Zerg Empire [Interstellar]

Ch 10

The Big Silly Zerg

He Yi raised his hand and gently rubbed his temple with his thumb: Ah, this damned competitive streak.

He glanced at the white, chubby male Zerg’s “happy fat” and then looked away, speaking in a calm and unhurried tone, “Tsk, with all that fat, you must be making it hard for your female servant to breathe, huh?”

“And your female servant doesn’t even mind? That’s… truly enviable love.”

The white, chubby male Zerg trembled all over with anger, as if He Yi had hit a sore spot. He put down his crossed leg and stood up with a jolt, his belly fat jiggling like it was doing a tap dance.

“You… you nasty Zerg! Just wait until my female servant comes out! I’ll have him give you a good beating!”

He Yi shrugged: Honest to goodness, he was just genuinely envious. He glanced at the handkerchief in his hand, now smeared with cake crumbs, and sighed regretfully: Ah, this gift lovingly hand-sewn by his dear spouse—he didn’t even get a chance to show it off, and the other guy’s already this upset?

Seeing He Yi bow his head and remain silent, the white, chubby male Zerg grew even more agitated, continuing to spit threats, “You just wait!”

“My dear friend, intentionally harming a male Zerg is a serious crime,” He Yi retorted with a graceful roll of his eyes.

Young Zergs these days, so uncivilized. They even dare to provoke someone like He Yi—truly don’t know their limits.

“Psh, going to jail for me would be his honor!” The white, chubby male Zerg raised his proud chin, looking down arrogantly at the Zerg who dared to offend him. After all, he had just been upgraded to an S-class advanced male Zerg, while the Zerg before him was clearly a stranger, of a lower rank than himself.

Poor white, chubby male Zerg—he had narrowly survived an overdose of crystal stones and managed to upgrade to S-class. During his recovery, he happened to miss the news of He Yi’s return. At this moment, he was unaware that the male Zerg he was looking down on was of a higher status and more distinguished than himself.

Hearing the white, chubby male Zerg’s words, He Yi stood up and chose a chair farther away to sit down, enunciating clearly, “You’re truly a scumbag.”

Cherish life, stay away from scum.

The white, chubby male Zerg turned away angrily, and the two Zergs didn’t speak to each other again.

Forty-five star minutes later, the showy competition over female servants had ended.

A handsome sub-female entered the room and slightly bowed to the white, chubby male Zerg, “Your Highness Cape, sorry to interrupt, but your female servant is refusing to take the endurance threshold test. Should we enforce it?”

The white, chubby male Zerg scratched the back of his head and lowered his voice, “If he doesn’t want to, then forget it.” As he spoke, he glanced furtively in He Yi’s direction, as if afraid he would overhear.

The sub-female looked troubled and also lowered his voice, “But he also refused…”

Just then, a female Zerg in military uniform entered the room. With red hair and red eyes, and strikingly beautiful features, he was an exceptionally stunning Zerg.

After the beautiful Zerg entered the room, his steps faltered ever so slightly before he walked straight toward He Yi. “You must be the famous Lord He Yi, who’s been the talk of the town lately?”

He Yi glanced at him for a moment because of the military uniform and gave him a polite nod.

The beautiful Zerg stared at He Yi for a few seconds before breaking into a particularly enchanting and seductive smile. With a complex expression, he said, “I thought when Marshal Zhao, that high and mighty flower, finally fell for someone, it would be some extraordinary Zerg. Turns out, he just goes for looks.”

He Yi felt uncomfortable under the scrutiny, so he raised his hand and touched the tip of his nose with his index finger before asking awkwardly, “You know Ah Zhao? May I ask who you are?”

“Lan! What’s going on? Flirting with another Zerg right in front of me—are you that desperate?” The white, chubby male Zerg rushed over, grabbed the beautiful Zerg’s wrist, and panted heavily.

“Oh, really? Are you trying to control me?” the beautiful Zerg replied with a mischievous smile.

The white, chubby male Zerg tightened his grip and dragged the beautiful Zerg to the side, his eyes red with anger. “I’ve never seen such a shameless female Zerg like you!”

“Is that so? And I’ve rarely seen such a pathetic male Zerg like you, Your Excellency Cape,” the beautiful Zerg retorted, pulling at his tightly gripped wrist.

Cape closed his eyes briefly, then raised his sleeve to wipe away the large tears on his face. He crossed his hands behind his back, raised his chin high, and turned to shout at the sub-female worker, “I want to teach him a lesson in discipline!!”

“Right now! Immediately!”

“I want to see today whether it’s your mouth, Lieutenant General Lan, or the whips here that are tougher!”

Lan didn’t respond.

Crack! A long whip sliced through the air.

Cape retrieved a viciously barbed, flexible steel whip from the display cabinet and slammed it down hard on the ground:

“Kneel!”

Lan remained unmoved, letting out a light scoff. “If you can make me kneel today, I’ll admit defeat.”

Forced to witness a dramatic scene of love and hate, He Yi rubbed his chin: As expected, the more someone lacks something, the more they flaunt it. This was clearly a relationship on the brink of collapse, yet they forced it into something that looked like sweet, peaceful bliss.

He Yi quietly stepped back, trying to reduce his presence. It’s best not to get involved in other Zergs’ private matters; otherwise, it could get awkward for everyone.

Crack!

Another whip strike hit the ground.

He Yi turned his back, ears pricking up as he counted: one whip, two whips, three whips… nine whips… He was quite surprised. Judging by the sound, that Cape fellow might have Parkinson’s or something? His hand was shaking so much that every strike hit the ground, not even grazing the female Zerg.

At that moment, the door to the lounge was pushed open. Two more Zergs entered—General Zhao and an employee from the testing center.

He Yi turned around, surprised and concerned. “Is the examination done?”

Then, noticing Zhao’s lack of clothing, he exclaimed, “Ah Zhao, where are your clothes?!”

He quickly approached, frowning at the sight of the Zerg’s bare upper body. He took off his long trench coat and draped it over Zhao, adjusting it to make sure it covered him properly. He Yi couldn’t help but worry. Even after being away for just a short while, Zhao had already gotten into trouble, not even caring for himself.

Zhao clutched the coat tightly, his knuckles turning white.

The master was about to punish him. He wasn’t afraid of pain or injury; on the contrary, he had been wounded countless times on the battlefield and had faced death more than once. But the thought of being punished now because he had displeased his master made his heart ache terribly.

He took a deep breath, inhaling the sweet, pure scent of his master’s pheromones from the coat.

Yes, the master still cared for him.

At least he had given him the coat to cover himself, considering his dignity, and hadn’t humiliated him in a public place like on the street or in a shopping mall. He should be grateful.

He lowered his head, blinking away the mist in his eyes.

Then, slowly, he knelt down. “Master.”

Seeing Zhao obediently kneel, the Zerg instructor who had entered with him bowed to He Yi and asked, “Lord He Yi, the basic examination is complete. Now it’s time for the discipline training. You may choose any whip you like. Will you be administering the punishment yourself, or would you prefer me to do it for you?”

This barrage of information was like a bomb exploding in He Yi’s ears. Stunned, he hadn’t yet recovered from the shock when Lieutenant General Lan’s exasperated voice rang out, “General Zhao, is this really the fine, upstanding master you chose after keeping yourself pure for sixty-eight years?!”

Zhao raised his head and looked in the direction of the voice. “Lan? What are you doing here?”

“What, is this your private Zerg planet? You’re allowed to be here, but I’m not?!” The domineering Lieutenant General Lan, who had just been full of bravado facing Cape, now seemed like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.

Seeing ‘Lan the cat’ showing signs of getting angry, Zhao hurriedly tried to calm him down. He shook his head and said softly, “You’re still so quick to get riled up. After you get married, you need to be less stubborn and soften up a bit.”

Forced matching was irreversible, and how Lan lived in the future would depend entirely on Cape. Though Lan was now bold, relying on the affection of his male master, in the end…

But Lieutenant General Lan, far from being soothed by these words, was like an enraged giant mutant wasp, ready to sting anyone in sight.

“And what right do you have to lecture me? You were a S-class female Zerg who could have escaped forced matching, but you threw yourself into the arms of a male Zerg. You’re such a big fool!”

“And now look at you, kneeling here, letting a male Zerg trample all over you! I’m embarrassed for you!”

Lan’s eyes blazed with fury. “And you, Cape! If you’ve got the guts, beat me to death right here! We agreed on six months, a clean break, and did I not serve you well enough during that time? Why bind me in marriage just to torment me every day?!”

The whip in Cape’s hand trembled and once again struck the ground off-target.

Lan sneered, lifting his gaze to glare angrily at He Yi. “Ha, the esteemed Lord He Yi, are you feeling quite pleased with yourself? The sensation of General Zhao, that foolish Zerg, offering his burning heart at your feet and licking your boots must be delightful, right?”

Finally understanding the situation, He Yi leaned down to help the female Zerg up from the ground, half-supporting him by the waist. He licked his dry lips and flashed a brilliant smile.

“Delightful… yes, indeed it is.”

He looked every bit the lust-driven villain.

Lan, deflated like a punctured balloon, suddenly lost all his energy. Yes, what could he do? He could barely protect himself, yet he foolishly thought he could save General Zhao, who far surpassed him in both capability and intellect.

How foolish and overconfident he had been.

It was a situation where one was willing to punish, and the other was willing to endure. By meddling, he would not solve anything; he would only cause General Zhao to suffer more.

But he couldn’t accept it. Why was the Zerg god so unfair? He could admit his own mistakes, but what had General Zhao done wrong? Sacrificing his life for the empire? Putting himself on the line for the Zerg people? And in the end, he was to be humiliated by some damn male Zerg who appeared out of nowhere!

His idol, his lifelong goal, his dear friend—right in front of his eyes…

One look at the military female’s expression told He Yi that the other had certainly misunderstood something, so he quickly explained:

“Lieutenant General Lan, you’ve misunderstood. I have no intention whatsoever of trampling or humiliating Ah Zhao.”

“I came with him this time to protect him, worried that if he came alone, he might be bullied.”

“After all—” He paused, his gentle voice tinged with a light laugh as he affectionately ruffled the female general’s bright golden short hair, “he really is quite silly.”

Lan: “…” So, was he wrong?

Zhao: “…” I’m not silly.

Cape: “…” Is this… a public display of affection?

With the misunderstanding cleared up, He Yi turned his attention to the Zerg instructor, who was still stunned, and asked, “Excuse me, can we skip this discipline training? I am requesting it as his master.” On an Zerg planet where males were considered supreme, the will of a male Zerg would undoubtedly take precedence, especially that of a rare, naturally high-ranking male Zerg.

“Yes, of course,” the instructor nodded mechanically. “Whatever you say.”

“So, is today’s examination over?” He Yi followed up.

“Ah? There’s just one more test, the fertility assessment,” the instructor replied. “It’s quick, won’t take much time.”

He Yi took Ah Zhao’s slightly damp hand and gave it a gentle shake, signaling the instructor to lead the way. “Then let’s get that done too.”

He turned to glance at the two dumbfounded Zergs behind him, Lan and Cape, and said, “Lieutenant General Lan, Lord Cape, please excuse us for a moment.”
