I Flirted with the General in the Zerg Empire [Interstellar]

Ch 05

Secretly Married to a Zerg

Pasor Star, Military Dormitory.

“Ze, what are you secretly watching over there?” Adjutant Xi, fresh out of the shower, looked at the Zerg curled up quietly on the sofa, scrolling through their smartbrain screen. With a mischievous grin, he leaned his wet head over. “Let me see too~”

As expected, he was met with a privacy screen mode made up of dynamic landscape wallpaper.

Star Officer Ze shot Xi a glance, skillfully turning on the sharing mode. “Don’t mess around, I’m busy.”

“Holy crap! A livestream??” Xi’s eyes widened in disbelief as he scanned Ze from head to toe like a searchlight. “I can’t believe it! Some Zergs look like serious soldiers, but deep down, they’re so carefree. The General is still suffering, and here you are, watching a livestream!”

Star Officer Ze remained silent.

Xi shook his head angrily, deeply disappointed in his comrade. “What’s even worth watching in these streams? Aren’t they just full of bored Zergs trying to get attention?”

Ze quietly wiped the droplets of water off his smartbrain screen and pointed to the Zerg in the livestream. “Look, doesn’t this cub look familiar?”

Xi instinctively glanced at the screen and immediately shouted in shock, “H-he-h-he… Who is that? When did the General have a cub?!”

By the end, his voice had risen in pitch due to sheer disbelief.

“You think so too?” Ze focused on the livestream, lost in thought. Fifteen star minutes ago, he had received a message from a retired officer claiming to have seen a young Zerg strikingly similar to the General when he was a cub. With a sense of curiosity, Ze had opened the livestream link, and now he was questioning everything.

Xi looked as if he’d been struck by lightning. His mind filled with bold, tabloid-style headlines:

“Shocking! The truth behind the General’s secret marriage and egg-laying revealed.”

“The Empire’s Shining Star secretly marries, welcomes a baby Zerg!”

“Looking back, the Iron-Blooded General is now the parent of a cub!”

“Stunning! The General is the cub’s biological parent, now missing; the poor cub relies on livestreaming to earn nutrient fluids!”

Xi took a deep breath, jolted by his own wild imagination. He sat up straight. “Ze, do you think… could this really be the General’s cub? It’s too similar, just too similar! It’s exactly like that photo of the General taken sixty years ago when he left the orphanage!”

Ze pressed his lips together. “Could it be some sort of scheme? The General has never taken leave since enlisting; it’s impossible, and there’s no reason for him to secretly marry.”

At that moment, in the livestream, He Yi and Zhao had just returned to their small wooden house after a walk. Since He Yi was in the temporary shower room, Ze and Xi had only seen Zhao on the screen.

“Ah Zhao, it’s time to rest. What’s so fascinating about this livestream ball? You’ve been watching it all evening and barely paying attention to me.”

He Yi, with the dampness of his recent bath still clinging to him, playfully covered the cub’s eyes from behind, his tone carrying a hint of teasing.

In the livestream, the viewers were treated to the sight of a glowing, fair-skinned male Zerg, his hair still wet and two straight black strands sticking up from his head, quivering slightly in the air.

The female viewers in the livestream were utterly charmed, each wishing they could transform into the little cub and snuggle up to the male Zerg.

The livestream chat exploded with messages:

6122# Beloved of the Male Zerg

“Ahhh! He’s just too adorable!”

6123# Give Me a Bowl of Snail Noodles

“AWLS! The Male Zerg’s beauty is too overwhelming!”

6124# Octopus Meatball

“Oh my Zerg god! Although this cub is cute, I still want to crawl through the screen and tear them apart! Then… take his place, hehe~”

6125# A Sub-female Who Doesn’t Want to Be a Servant Isn’t a Good servant

“Get lost, you! If there’s a chance like that, it should be mine!”

As they watched the flood of comments on the screen, Adjutant Xi and Star Officer Ze only momentarily lost focus when the male Zerg appeared in the livestream before regaining their composure. They knew there was something more important they needed to confirm.

“A—Zhao?”

The two Zergs exchanged glances. Even the name was similar. They both had the same thought: this cub, even if not the General’s, must be connected to him!

They focused intently on the screen, hoping to find more clues to support their suspicions.

In the livestream, Zhao put down the pink livestream ball and explained, “My Lord, I just want to find a way to send out a distress signal as soon as possible. I don’t want to miss any chance of hope, no matter how small. I want you to return to the Zerg planet and enjoy the honor you deserve.” Instead of suffering here.

He Yi felt the droplets of water in his palm and suddenly panicked.

“Zhao, what’s wrong? Please don’t cry… don’t cry, okay? Keep working on it if you want.”

“You can watch it as long as you like.”

He Yi, driven into a corner by the cub’s tears, walked over to Zhao and gently comforted him.

“And with you here, I’m too happy to consider this suffering. If giving up a comfortable and easy life means having you by my side, then I think I’m willing.”

“Are you willing?” He Yi had lived in a post-apocalyptic world for 49 years, always alone. His daily routine consisted of killing zombies. As the top combatant in the human survivors’ base, he had no family, no friends—only subordinates who relied on his leadership and vulnerable humans who needed his protection.

After crossing over, his powers weakened, and he struggled to survive alone on a desolate planet. The once quiet and reserved He Yi had changed; he now found himself talking non-stop, even to an intelligent robot, because he feared that being alone for too long would make him forget how to speak.

Zhao’s arrival stirred up the stagnant water that was He Yi’s life, turning dull and lonely days into something interesting. Therefore, He Yi felt a deep trust and joy for Zhao.

He Yi pressed his lips into a thin line, nervously waiting for Zhao’s response.

“I’m willing too.”

The female wiped away the mist in his eyes, speaking each word clearly. His blue eyes sparkled like stars beneath his lashes, and a beautiful smile formed at the corners of his lips.

As soon as the female cub spoke, He Yi’s tense body finally relaxed. Excitedly, he pulled the female’s slender shoulders into a tight embrace, pressing him close. “Then, no matter what happens in the future, we will always, always be together.” Whether as friends, family, or partners.

He Yi, feeling emboldened, sought a promise—a promise that would ensure he would never be lonely again.

“Mm, always together.” Zhao nuzzled against the warmth of the male Zerg’s chest, his ears turning red without him realizing it.

At this moment, he felt extremely uneasy. He hadn’t expected that the reverse growth period would not only shrink his body but also affect his emotions. He, who hadn’t cried since leaving the orphanage, was now crying like a child in front of the male lord!

Meanwhile, the livestream chat grew even more lively:

7894# Loves to Smile But Isn’t Sweet

“Even though I don’t fully understand, I feel just a tiny bit moved, sob sob…”

7895# If You Don’t Work Hard When You’re Young, You’ll Be a Slave When You’re Grown

“Moved +1”

7896# Thirsty Zerg

“I never thought a livestream could be more exciting than a drama. By the way, has anyone found any information on the Male Zerg?”

7897# Little Thief of the Moon

“Daydreaming! I’m not greedy, just give me the cub’s info. Once I learn a trick or two, my future sweet, soft male lord isn’t far off!”

Adjutant Xi and Star Officer Ze exchanged glances, joy shining in their eyes: the cub in the livestream was highly likely to be the General himself. The resemblance in appearance, voice, and even the slight twitch of his right pinky finger when he was shy were all the same!

With trembling hands, Xi flipped open his communicator and dialed Marshal Sen’s video link. After briefly reporting this major discovery, he grabbed his coat, threw it on casually, and walked side by side with Ze to the military headquarters’ central control room.

Both wore a rare, light smile.

“Want one?”

Adjutant Xi pulled out two lollipops from his pocket, handed one to Ze, then unwrapped one and popped it into his mouth. “When the General returns, I’ll demand a hundred boxes of different flavored male pheromone lollipops as compensation. Then, I’ll take a long vacation to mourn the hair I lost due to excessive overtime.”

Star Officer Ze squinted his eyes and sucked on the candy.

“Give it a rest, you lose more hair staying up late watching shows on your vacation. Ah, it’s a shame my honeymoon plan with the male lord to Pink Star fell through. The male lord hasn’t sent me a single video in ten days—he’s definitely been bewitched by that little temptress again.”

Adjutant Xi: “I haven’t seen my male lord for a while either, sob sob…”

Military Headquarters, Central Control Room.

“Report! Livestream signal target has been locked!”

“Where?”

“A garbage star 180,000 light-years from Passor, code L-J835.” The technician lightly pressed the virtual infinite remote control mouse in his hand, and a deep blue particle beam appeared out of thin air, striking the upper left corner of the map.

The military leaders exchanged glances: that’s one of the most remote and highly irradiated garbage stars!

“Deploy the Astronaut F-3, open the emergency space channel, and depart immediately!” the Marshal ordered in a deep voice.

After several space jumps, a silver-white warship materialized in the cosmos, surrounded by layers of dust particles stirred up by its arrival.

Onboard the warship, a tense and urgent atmosphere spread. The broadcast system continuously relayed updates in an electronic voice: “Oxygen levels are normal, autopilot is engaged, ultra-defense system activating… Warning! Entering the garbage star’s vicinity!”

“Reporting, sir! The probe has detected Zerg lifeforms 47 light-years out at the 9 o’clock direction!”

“Report! Connected to life signals on garbage star L-J835!”

The light screen in the warship’s command center displayed the map of the garbage star, with a prominent red dot indicating life signals. The red dot expanded and then faded, transforming into a blurry light cluster.

A moment later, an ultra-clear image appeared on the screen.

The image showed the esteemed male Zerg crouched outside a small wooden cabin, holding a small silver shovel in a rather ungraceful position, laboriously digging into the tough purple-black soil. Beads of sweat rolled down his chiseled jaw and onto his Adam’s apple.

But where was the female cub? Where had he gone??

The scene shifted to inside the cabin, where a soft, adorable female with golden hair was curled up on a bed, breathing steadily and sleeping soundly.

Amazing, General!

The Zergs on the warship were speechless. How could the noble and lovely male zerg be made to do such rough work? Didn’t the General feel any guilt? What if the sharp little shovel cut the male’s delicate, fair fingers? And look! The male was even—

Sweating!

They stared at the peacefully sleeping golden-haired female with resentment, wishing they could poke a hole through their revered and invincible General. What a grievous sin!

Seeing this, General Wei didn’t hesitate to give the order: “Land the warship, all military females prepare for action!”

“Yes, sir!”

The warship slowly descended, and the military females, clad in multifunctional blue tactical uniforms that protected against detection, viruses, and radiation, stepped cautiously onto the radiation-scarred purple-black ground.

“Report! Squad 008 has located suspicious coordinates! Male Zerg’s mental fluctuations are intense!”

“Hurry! Coordinates (46, 98, 23)…”
