Chapter 9.2
Stage 1-9. Sasuga Ouga-sama
The sound of our footsteps echoed through the hallway as we walked at a brisk pace.
I didn’t know Mashiro had multiple magical affinities.
In her case, I had decided based solely on the first impression from her photo.
“But why the sudden urge to go to the practice building?”
“I got curious about what it feels like to use two different types of magic simultaneously.”
I want to grasp the level of skill it takes to catch the eye of someone like Flone Milfonty.
Can she handle magic from different attributes at the same time?
Does the amount of mana consumed change?
What kind of image does she conjure when casting magic?
Originally, I had drilled various knowledge into myself to compensate for my lack of magical aptitude.
Watching Mashiro’s magic might give me an idea for a new technique.
And honestly, I wanted to skip class at least once.
With a perfect excuse lined up, there was no reason not to do it.
“Eh? So, Ouga-kun, you didn’t know about my magical affinity?”
“No. Is that a problem?”
N-No, not at all? If anything, this means Mashiro won’t realize I had researched her from the start.
This is all going according to my plan, right?
Excuses I didn’t know who they were meant for kept popping into my head.
“Nope, it’s perfect!”
She beamed and clung to my arm.
I had no idea why, but since the sensation of her chest was amazing, I didn’t think too hard about it.
“Is this it?”
“Wow. It looks huge up close.”
After walking for a while, we arrived at the entrance to the practice building.
The classroom building is big enough, but this one is even larger, many times over.
Since it’s a place where magic is actually used, even a small enclosed space would be disastrous if something exploded.
To ensure student safety, the area is more than sufficient, with six distinct zones making up the whole structure.
“Alright, let’s go in.”
“Yeah! I’ll show you something cool, Ouga-kun!”
We eagerly moved to enter.
But the door wouldn’t budge.
“Huh? Why isn’t it opening?”
I’ve trained my body since I was young, so I’m confident in my strength.
Ever since acquiring Alice, I’ve been undergoing even more intense training.
The door does look thick, but it shouldn’t be completely immovable.
It was reasonable to assume there was some reason it wouldn’t open.
“Hnnnngh…!”
Beside me, Mashiro was turning bright red, struggling in vain.
Using magic without permission on school grounds is forbidden.
The practical curriculum doesn’t start for over a month.
Waiting that long is out of the question.
Is there some other way in?
Should I just scale the outer wall?
I started considering these reckless ideas when a clear voice cut through my thoughts.
“First-year students aren’t allowed to enter the practice building independently.”
We turned to see a figure with flowing pink hair that reached her waist.
Dressed in a white uniform, different from ours, her graceful manner made her seem like an angel.
Her beauty was the kind that would captivate anyone who saw her.
I, too, found myself staring at her.
“Nice to meet you. I’m Reina Milfonty, the student council president of the prestigious Richebourg Magic Academy.”
But it wasn’t her beauty that captivated me.
It was her deep yellow eyes.
Her eyes reminded me of my pre-reincarnation self, devoid of any sense of life.
“I hope we can get along, Vellet-kun, Liche-san.”
There was a discord between her expression and the emotions her words conveyed, leaving me with a sense of unease.
