I Became the Maid of the Lout Prince

Chapter 184 [Impromptu Get-together (2)]

T/N: This bonus chapter is sponsored by James B. (1/14). If you enjoy reading and are willing to sponsor more bonus chapters, see my Ko-fi.

This was my second visit to Seraphine’s VIP room.

Of course, I wasn’t yet familiar with the grand building of the Royal Dormitory after seeing it only twice.

The massive stained glass windows that must have cost dozens of gold coins to process, chandeliers hanging in rows about every ten steps, and decorations adorned with all kinds of jewels throughout the house…

It was a place that didn’t really suit Seraphine, who hardly indulged in luxury except for maintaining her dignity.

Of course, it was a space used by the entire Royal Family, so it had little to do with Seraphine’s personal frugality.

“Indeed, the VIP room… It’s as impressive as I’ve heard…”

“I’m not sure if it’s alright for someone of my status to visit such a place. I hope I’m not intruding on a nobles’ party…”

“What are you saying, Gwyn? You were all invited in my name as a royal. Who would dare question your right to be here?”

“I see. My apologies for speaking out of turn.”

“…The Royal Family really is different, starting from their accommodations.”

Even for the children of ducal families, the best they could hope for was a room with a private bathroom in the dormitory.

The VIP room, an entire building used by just two members of the Royal Family, was certainly a structure that couldn’t help but pique interest when seen for the first time. [Check out Genius Wizard Conceals His Origins! / Axiomatic]

This was evident from the admiring comments not only from Gwyn, a commoner, but also from Lizzy and Ethan, who were no less privileged than most noble children.

“Welcome, everyone. Seats have been prepared inside. Please make yourselves comfortable, and if you have any concerns, feel free to let me know at any time.”

As we entered deeper into the VIP room, Luke, who had been waiting, greeted the guests in a traditional maid uniform rather than her usual uniform.

As expected of a heroine, she looked quite pretty in a maid outfit.

Although it wasn’t my intention, making Luke job-change into a personal maid might have been an excellent choice after all.

“I hope you all enjoy yourselves without any pressure, thinking of this as just a casual gathering, everyone.”

“Thank you for arranging this, President Seraphine.”

“There’s no need for excessive praise. This is just a gathering I’ve organized for all of you who have worked hard this semester.”

…Right, that’s a nice sentiment. Everyone has gone through various hardships running the Student Council for a semester.

However…

Why do I keep getting an artificial feeling from Seraphine’s comments today?

Also, holding such an ambiguous event as a get-together at this unclear timing was suspicious in many ways.

It might seem ridiculous to be suspicious just because of a little get-together, but that’s something only people who don’t know Seraphine’s character well would say.

As I mentioned earlier, Seraphine was a character who didn’t indulge in luxury.

So, she wouldn’t have any reason to hold such an expensive party privately. If she had extra money personally, she would probably donate it to poor people or an orphanage somewhere.

If there was a reason to hold such a party, it was likely related to the Hero…

“Miss Lilith, please take this as well. It’s a Blue Curaçao cocktail.”

“…Ah, yes. Thank you, Luke.”

I carefully received the cocktail glass that Luke had suddenly brought before me.

Once she confirmed that everyone, including me, was holding a glass, Seraphine immediately followed with a toast. [Check out Genius Wizard Conceals His Origins! / Axiomatic]

“Thank you for your hard work this semester, members of the Student Council. I look forward to working with you next semester and perhaps even in the Student Councils of next year or the year after. …Cheers!”

“Cheers!”

The sound of several glass cups clinking in succession was heard amidst the slightly boisterous atmosphere.

It was such a peaceful atmosphere that it was impossible to imagine any problems occurring.

…And that peaceful atmosphere was shattered in less than 30 minutes.

It’s the price of not anticipating the drinking habits of a certain character who never appeared in the original game.

“Lilith… I’m sorryyy…”

“…Miss August, it would be better if you composed yourself.”

“Lilith, I… I didn’t know you were such an amazing lady… hic!”

“Please…”

Lizzy, who suddenly became incapacitated after her second cocktail, clung to my arm.

She seemed a bit off after the first drink, but she completely collapsed after the second one.

‘…If I had known this would happen, I would have stopped her somehow at the second drink.’

I didn’t expect her to pass out after just two cocktails; it wasn’t even whiskey or cognac. It was nonsensical even for someone with a terrible alcohol tolerance.

This isn’t some novel or game… come to think of it, it is a game, right?

Still, this was my first time drinking with Lizzy, so it was too harsh to expect me to predict her drinking behavior.

“Lady Lizzy. It would be better if you rested for a while. There’s a servant’s bedroom in the next room, so you could take a short nap…”

“Shut up…! Let go…!! No one can interfere between me and Lilith…!”

“Lady Lizzy…”

Lizzy Lynn August rejected Luke’s hand and clung to me even more.

The tears flowing from her eyes gradually soaked my uniform.

‘…I want to throw her to the floor right now.’

No, should I just secretly hit her solar plexus and knock her out? I think I could do it without being seen if I do it right.

Caraham isn’t here anyway; should I just do it? Should I just throw her down?

‘…No, let’s restrain ourselves. There’s no need to ruin the mood on such a good day.’

In the first place, I owed Lizzy various favors, so it was hard to just push her away, even with this brazen drunken behavior.

In the first semester, she personally got me the “Understanding Mana Flow” book that was difficult to obtain on my own, and I mooched several cups of coffee off her.

In the second semester’s Hunting Festival, I was able to finish with a decent score with Ethan by properly utilizing the potions I got from Lizzy.

After all, being in the same year, we would inevitably see each other for all four years, even if we were in different departments. If I made things awkward now, the remaining three years would become troublesome. [Check out Genius Wizard Conceals His Origins! / Axiomatic]

And well, even in my previous life, this level of drunken behavior was honestly quite tolerable.

Clinging to others and whining wasn’t causing any particular material damage.

Of course, it would be a problem if this happened between people of opposite sexes, but hugging and rubbing faces between people of the same sex was somewhat understandable.

In reality, there were only two characters in this world who should absolutely never be given alcohol.

Natalie from the Swordsmanship Department… And Agnes from the Magic Department.

The former had “dueling drunkenness,” and the latter had “anger drunkenness.”

Natalie, who, despite being a commoner swordswoman, had a good reputation among others due to her usually friendly personality, would turn into a crazy duel maniac who would suddenly point her sword at anyone and demand a duel as soon as a sip of alcohol passed her throat.

Agnes would become a hysterical Chihuahua, screaming and cursing her family and home for hours until the effects of the alcohol wore off.

Well, compared to those two, Lizzy’s drunken behavior was civilized. …Not that I’d ever have the chance to see their drunken behavior in my life anyway.

…Wait, come to think of it, this is annoying, no? Although I’m Ethan’s exclusive maid, today I came here as Seraphine’s guest, just like Lizzy, right?

Do I have to keep up with my maid duties even in this situation, dealing with someone else’s drunken behavior?

I probably won’t be using a solar plexus punch, but I could at least pinch her side hard…

“Princess Seraphine, the guests have arrived.”

“Ah, yes. I’ll handle the introductions, so please guide them in, Luke.”

‘…Huh?’

…Guests? Now?

Although it was a relatively quiet conversation between the two, I clearly heard that guests had arrived.

Naturally, questions arose about the conversation about other guests arriving at what was supposed to be a Student Council get-together.

I briefly wondered if Orion had decided to participate late, but given his personality, if he was going to join late, he’d already be lurking around inside this party hall, hiding his presence.

If it wasn’t Orion, who could possibly join this get-together party all of a sudden…

“Lil, Lilith~! Call me by my first name… Drop all the surnames and titles~!”

Lizzy kept interrupting my thoughts by clinging to me and shouting loudly.

Barely restraining the fist that almost moved before words, I tried to calm myself as much as possible and replied.

“…That would be improper, Miss August.”

“So Lilith is still holding that incident in her heart?! You said you’d accept my apology then, but you’re still angry that I dirtied your clothes, aren’t you?!”

“No, that’s not what I meant to say…”

…I take back what I said earlier. This woman also had garbage-tier drunken behavior, no less than Natalie or Agnes.

Come to think of it, I wouldn’t have the chance to see Natalie’s and Agnes’s drinking habits in this world anyway…

So doesn’t that make this woman right next to me the number one nuisance while drunk, by my standards?

Realizing this fact, my fist started to whimper and cry in earnest, and that’s when Ethan, who had been trying to avoid interfering as much as possible since it was a matter between women, carefully began to restrain Lizzy.

“Lizzy Lynn August. Until now, I’ve been trying to overlook this as much as possible because you’re the young lady of the August family, but I can no longer stand by and watch you keep tormenting Lilith like this…”

“Lilith, take this. Hurry and pour this on me!”

“…Pardon?”

“I’ll be completely covered in this cocktail or whatever, just like you were back then! Pour it on me as much as you want to vent your anger!”

…What kind of crazy woman is this?

Does she seriously think that’s possible?

Me, a quasi-baroness, pouring a cocktail on a margrave’s daughter?

Could it be that this woman is actually still holding a grudge against me for what happened back then? [Check out Genius Wizard Conceals His Origins! / Axiomatic]

Is she pretending to be drunk and causing trouble like this to create an excuse to drag me down, and then when she sobers up, she’ll shamelessly demand compensation?

I was willing to overlook quite a bit because of the favors I’d received, but no matter how I looked at it, it seemed extremely difficult to become friends with this crazy woman.

Grip.

“Ugh, grrr…”

Meanwhile, Ethan calmly restrained Lizzy’s arms behind her back, preventing her from causing any more trouble.

As the somewhat chaotic atmosphere continued during this party-like gathering…

Seraphine, having heard something from Luke, turned her gaze towards us and delivered a seemingly hastily prepared surprise announcement.

“Everyone, actually, the reason I arranged this get-together today is not just for wrapping up the semester with you, the members of the Student Council.”

‘…Huh?’

“In fact, besides you all, I have other guests I’ve invited to today’s gathering. They are the ones who played the most significant role in this semester’s final Hunting Festival.”

‘…Ah, don’t tell me.’

“It’s none other than Hero Gyeongmwajogyegigwat and his Hunting Festival party members! Please come in~!”

Along with Seraphine’s somewhat exaggerated welcome, the Hero’s party entered from outside.

As soon as I saw the Hero and the faces following behind him, I could only quietly sense in my heart:

…This get-together party, no matter how I think about it, doesn’t seem like it will end well.
