I Became A Squirrel Seeking For The Villain

Chapter 4

Yohan jumped up with a face that looked like he was about to faint.

‘What the hell…?’

And in an instant, a blanket was wrapped around my body.

“Ahhh!”

Only then did I realize the situation and I dove into the crisp blanket. I wasn’t wearing any clothes.

When I roughly looked at my body from the blanket, I felt like I was a teenage girl of Yohan’s age.

My hair, which fell below my shoulders, was a very light brown color.

“You, you….”

Of course, Yohan still seemed to be in a state of panic.

It was only after he had covered me up under the blanket that his brain seemed to shut off. It was good manners, though.

After a while, I peeked out from under the blanket.

Yohan was leaning against the wall with his face flushed red.

I couldn’t help but click my tongue at the sight.

‘I won’t eat you, dude…’

Anyway, our eyes finally met.

I looked up at him, hugging the blanket tightly around my hands.

It felt so good to be human, even if only for a little while, but it was also quite sudden for me. Because I had never thought about this situation before.

‘What am I supposed to say to him when we haven’t even gotten to know each other yet…..’

“Uh…hmm…first…..”

A proper voice came out of my throat, not a ‘kyuuung’ sound.

It was a girl’s voice, bright and lively, secretly pleasant to listen to.

“Hey, nice to meet you?”

“You, you, you…..”

Yohan just blinked at me as if he had seen a ghost. His earlobes and the back of his neck were red as if they were going to burn.

It seems that he didn’t know that a divine beast could transform into a human.

I spoke carefully, trying to explain the situation in some way.

“Well, a divine beast can become a human—”

But unfortunately, I couldn’t finish my words.

“Kyuung.’

I’ve become a squirrel again.

In addition, the magic power of Yohan that had been well-kept within me completely disappeared.

Suddenly, I felt empty. The same feeling swept through my whole body.

It seemed like I had used up all the magical power I had accumulated over the past two days.

I thought back to what Tezen had said earlier.

“However, Before 50 days, if you become humanized in the middle, all the magic power that was absorbed during that time will be lost. So, even if it seems like you’re going to become human, you have to endure it. Do you understand?”

As expected, the contents of the book that Tezen had been reading so diligently seemed to be all true.

Although it was embarrassing, it was a satisfactory result.

‘That’s amazing. I absorbed enough magic to instantly transform into a human in just two days.’

It was something I had to experience at least once since I didn’t know much about humanization.

Even if I went back, it seemed like I would be able to gather the magic power well in the future.

The solution is to be more proactive in accepting the magic power when I feel that throbbing feeling from earlier.

Because I already knew.

‘If I keep doing this for 50 days, my dreams will come true. Humans should live with a goal.”

I chuckled contentedly and steeled my resolve again.

Then I looked at Yohan again, trying to calm his magic.

“Humanization….Is it possible? What does that mean…?”

Yohan still had that look on his face, as if something was broken.

‘Well, that was all I could explain in that short time, so he was still confused.’

‘As expected, he doesn’t know much about the divine beast.’

I put my hand on my waist and sighed lightly.

It was frustrating that I couldn’t explain everything to him since he didn’t understand.

Eventually, I decided to try gesturing hard again.

If I had known this would happen, I would have blurted out something like I did earlier, but I was so flustered that I wasted my time. It was a shame, but now I had no choice.

With body language in mind, I tapped my chest once.

“You?”

I nodded and ran across the room and pointed to the book.

“Book?”

Okay, then I pointed to the Hydra symbol engraved on my chest.

“Hyrad?”

No, no.

I shook my head sharply, and Yohan thought for a moment and then asked.

“Tezen?”

Okay. And I pretended to turn the pages of a book with my front paws.

“Study?”

Yohan looked at me quietly and finally formed a sentence.

“You’ll bring me a book about yourself from Tezen, so I can study it?”

‘Yes. He is indeed smart.’

I ran up to him and climbed onto his shoulders, stroking his smooth black hair.

He’s kind, smart, and pure. I really like him because he’s a villain who hasn’t turned black yet.

Even the manner of covering me with a blanket in an instant, I was completely impressed, which made me compare him to Tezen again.

‘Wow, but this guy’s magic is really amazing. I was able to gather enough magical power to become human in just two days.’

It was a happy thing for me, but on the other hand, I also felt sorry for him.

I wondered how much pain he must have suffered during his rampage with all that power.

The innocent and kind boy in front of me now is a villain who is obsessed with one woman and runs wild.

It’s sad to think that such a sweet, caring, and lonely child could have been the one who did that.

After going through all that pain, he turned dark and became obsessed with the woman when he met the female protagonist later on.

I’m glad we met when he was still innocent.

‘If I could ease the pain a little, the love between the male and female leads would become a little easier.’

If only there were no villains, everyone would be happy.

‘Yes. The right amount of love and attention during adolescence can change even the villains.’

So it was good for everyone that I calmed Yohan down.

I placed my forepaw on his forehead again and started absorbing his magic power.

* * *

Yohan had already grown into a boy who was far from good, due to his long suffering and loneliness.

He was more of a manipulative boy who would use anything to get out of this situation.

But even so, he was also a naive sixteen-year-old boy who had never met a girl his own age.

So after the squirrel left, Yohan was lying on his bed, blinking his eyes blankly.

He was more comfortable than he had ever been before, thanks to the Squirrel’s soothing magic, but he couldn’t sleep.

“Kyuuuung.”

As promised, Squirrel tore a few pages from Tezen’s room and brought them to him.

His heart ached when he thought of the hard work of the squirrel that climbed up the tower while biting the torn pages of a book.

But…

‘I quickly covered her with a blanket before I could see it properly, but every time I thought of the naked body of the girl I had seen in passing, my face turned red.’

He tried to pretend to be pitiful, nice, or lonely to get sympathy, but he couldn’t even say the right words today.

Actually, he thought the squirrel figure was cute too.

The squirrel’s serious front paw thrust towards his forehead was salvation for him, but it was a bit cute for the time being.

When something small and insignificant tries to communicate by waving its short arms, he almost wants to hug it.

Even though it has a small body, it has a very confident and gentle personality, which makes it even more funny.

In the meantime, Its human form… was so cute.

Light brown hair, round pink eyes, and a face that was peeking out from under the blanket.

He wondered when and how humanization would happen.

‘I wonder if I’ll ever see her again.’

He eventually jumped out of bed and started reading the torn book the squirrel had brought him.

It was so late at night that he planned to read it tomorrow, but he didn’t think he would be able to sleep at this rate.

And the more he read, the more his ears began to turn red.

According to the book, it was possible to become human in two days.

“Doesn’t that mean that in fifty days, it will become a real….. human?”

After he finished reading the book, he bit his fingernails for a moment.

“So then this squirrel also needs me to become human.”

So, mutual assistance.

Even if he doesn’t pretend to be pitiful or try to get sympathy, the squirrel will come to him.

“Good….”

John smiled bitterly as he fiddled with the acorn the squirrel had given him when they first met. Now, there was no need to be anxious.

But….

“Why do I feel bad?”

The gesture of expressing ‘Tezen’ by pointing to the symbol engraved on its chest kept bothering Yohan.

‘As if it was Tezen’s own…No, that’s true, but why is it so annoying…?’

‘We’re just trying to get what we want from each other, so there’s no reason to feel bad about the squirrel being owned by Tezen.’

That night, Yohan tossed and turned for a long time, not knowing what the unpleasantness he felt for the first time in his life was.
