I am Thor

Chapter 199: Chapter 199: Silver Guardian Steals the House

Thor, despite his strength, couldn't handle this alone. Ego, with his celestial energy, was no ordinary opponent. His powers could destroy planets effortlessly, but that wasn't what made him dangerous. It was his unique bond with the planetary core—a living, thinking entity capable of adapting and fighting back.

In the skies above, a swarm of Sovereign ships appeared, their sleek, golden designs glinting against the chaos below. They had been pursuing Star-Lord and his crew relentlessly, and now they'd caught up.

"Hell!" Rocket cursed, slamming a fist against the dashboard. "There's too many of 'em! And the weapon systems aren't fully repaired yet!"

The Milano, barely functioning after its last skirmish, was in no shape to fend off an armada of unmanned drones. On the ground below, Ego's endless tentacles reached toward the ship, seeking to ensnare it.

Thor stood amidst the chaos, his expression unyielding. "Come on, then!" he bellowed, a wild grin spreading across his face. "Let's see what you're made of!"

Electricity surged through his body, sparking purple and crackling with raw energy. His eyes glowed with an eerie violet hue, and his armor pulsed with an electrified aura. Every step he took left scorch marks on the ground, and the air around him grew dense with the smell of ozone.

With a mighty leap, Thor launched himself into the sky. The darkness of the night shattered as a massive vortex of thunderclouds formed above him, spinning with terrifying speed. The heavens roared, casting the battlefield in a brilliant, unnatural light. Purple lightning bolts rained down, each strike shaking the planet to its core.

"Boom!"

The first wave of Sovereign fighter ships couldn't withstand the storm. One by one, they exploded into fireballs, their golden debris scattering across the sky. In the Sovereign control room, the High Priestess seethed with rage as the screens displaying the battle went dark.

Thor's attack wasn't just devastating to the Sovereign fleet—it also obliterated Ego's energy tentacles. The writhing appendages disintegrated, leaving the Milano momentarily free.

"Let's move!" Yondu shouted from inside the ship.

But Star-Lord shook his head, his voice firm. "No! We can't just run. Ego wants to destroy the universe, and the only way to stop him is to destroy the core of the planet. We have to go deeper!"

Rocket grinned, already turning the ship toward the gaping chasm Thor had created. "Finally, a good plan! Let's blow up another maniacal overlord and save the galaxy! Second time's the charm!"

Drax furrowed his brow. "It wasn't us who killed Ronan last time…"

Rocket rolled his eyes. "Details, Drax! Details!"

Above the battlefield, Ego's massive celestial form loomed, his features twisted in fury. "Thor of Asgard!" he roared, his voice echoing across the landscape. "You cannot defeat me! I am a god!"

Thor spat on the ground, unimpressed. "A god? You're a pretender with delusions of grandeur!"

With a sharp whistle, he called out, "Onyxia!"

The black dragon burst forth from the shadows, her enormous wings stirring the air into a gale. She let out a mighty roar before unleashing a torrent of fire. Ego's celestial form dissolved in the blaze, his energy scattering like ash in the wind.

Thor grinned. "That's two for two, dragon. Keep it up."

But Ego wasn't finished. His presence began to reform, and his tentacles surged toward the Milano once more. Thor remained unshaken. "You're strong, Ego, but your biggest flaw is that you can't handle someone who pushes back."

Ego's celestial consciousness, though vast and powerful, was limited by its reliance on the immovable planetary core. That was his Achilles' heel. Thor knew this, and with Stormbreaker in hand, he was ready to exploit it.

Onyxia transformed into her human form, landing beside Thor as he plunged into the depths of the planet. The ground beneath them gave way to an immense subterranean city, an intricate labyrinth of rock, energy conduits, and glowing veins of celestial power.

Rocks and debris hurtled toward them in a relentless barrage, but neither Thor nor Onyxia flinched. The Stormbreaker's edge cleaved through the obstacles with ease, carving a path straight toward the planet's core.

Ego's planetary consciousness tried desperately to disorient them. The terrain shifted, forming an ever-changing maze meant to trap them. But Thor was unfazed.

"Maze? You think that'll stop me?" he scoffed. "I'm not here to play games. I'm here to win."

Swinging Stormbreaker with ferocity, he smashed through the walls, obliterating every obstacle in his way. "Gods? Celestial? Doesn't matter. I bulldoze them all."

Onyxia smirked, following close behind. "You're enjoying this a little too much."

"Maybe," Thor admitted, his grin widening. "But I'm getting results."

Deep in the planet's core, Ego's true form began to reform—a swirling mass of energy and consciousness, tethered to the heart of the planet. His celestial body rippled as he sensed the intruders approaching.

"Not good!" Ego growled, a rare hint of fear flashing across his face. He felt something foreign within him, a threat he couldn't ignore.

With a guttural roar, he redirected all his tentacles toward the planet's core, abandoning his attacks on the surface. His consciousness focused inward, desperately trying to protect his vulnerable center.

Thor and Onyxia finally reached the core—a massive, glowing structure pulsing with celestial energy. The heat was unbearable for any mortal, but to the God of Thunder and the Black Dragon Princess, it was nothing more than a warm breeze.

Ego's consciousness began to coalesce, forming a grotesque humanoid shape that towered over them. His face twisted in fury, his voice booming. "Stop!!"
