I am the Emperor of Humanity across the Multiverse

Chapter 206: Chapter 205: The Empress in Name Only

At this moment, in the lobby on the ground floor of Atlas Headquarters:

The ceiling here reached nearly twenty meters high, and the floor and wall tiles were so well-polished by the cleaning staff that they could serve as mirrors. Fourteen decorative supporting pillars lined the space, adding to the architectural grandeur.

With the help of large one-way glass windows installed on the northern and eastern sides, the sunlight softly poured in, making the area feel open, bright, and giving it a comforting sense of tranquility.

However—

"Ma'am! Stay where you are, don't move!"

"Stop! Or we will use force!"

The warning shouts came from the security checkpoint at the main entrance.

Along with the loud thuds of military boots hitting the ground, the serenity and calm of the lobby were abruptly shattered.

Several armed security personnel, dressed in dark blue tactical gear, equipped with mechanical exoskeletons and holding AMWS (Modular Weapon System) rifles, had their guns aimed at a "woman" standing about two meters tall.

This "woman" wore oversized basketball shoes, sweatpants, and a hoodie, with a white mask covering her mouth and nose and a black baseball cap pulled low over her face.

With her height and attire, if she had been walking down the street, bystanders would likely mistake her for an unknown basketball player.

But this woman hadn't followed the proper procedure to enter the lobby. Instead, she tried to force her way through the security checkpoint and spoke with a slightly echoing voice:

"I am the goddess of marriage and childbirth, one of the twelve Olympian gods, and the queen of the gods—Hera. I need to personally meet with your leader, Samuel Young."

However, the armed security guards manning the checkpoint didn't care if she claimed to be a chief god or some sort of empress. They immediately went on high alert.

Though they were among the lower-level security personnel in the armed division, their responsibility for protecting the headquarters meant they had been carefully selected and trained professionals, with no issues regarding loyalty to the company.

One security captain, not wearing a helmet, held an 8mm submachine pistol in one hand and warned:

"Ma'am, if you wish to meet with our boss, please make an appointment and wait for a notification. Now, raise your hands and submit to temporary detainment, or we will use force!"

Click—click!

As soon as the captain finished speaking, the metallic sounds of safeties being disengaged echoed through the lobby.

More security guards began gathering at the main entrance, prepared for a potential firefight.

The escalating tension caused many of the ordinary people, who had the privilege of visiting the headquarters, and business partners there to discuss details, to show signs of panic. Fortunately, staff members quickly guided them to safety through the emergency exits.

Soon, the already spacious lobby became even emptier, and the atmosphere grew momentarily still.

"."

Seeing this, the woman who claimed to be Hera frowned, contemplating whether to force her way in.

Ding—!

At that moment, the arrival chime of the dedicated elevator reached the ears of both the security guards and the woman.

Thud, thud!

Heavy footsteps, aided by magnetic boots striking reinforced floor tiles, echoed from the elevator's direction.

The woman turned toward the sound and saw two gene-primarchs, both a meter taller than "her," walking toward the security checkpoint.

!!

The woman's eyes widened slightly in surprise. Her expression seemed to show a mix of astonishment and… melancholy? Or was it nostalgia?

"Ma'am."

The one who succeeded his father in managing the primary universe, Guilliman, spoke with a serious face: "I am Guilliman, a gene-primarch of Atlas and one of the sons of the leader. As our security staff has already informed you, if you cooperate, we can talk. If not, I won't hesitate to extract useful information from you."

"You have three seconds to decide.

Three...

Two..."

??!!

The woman clearly hadn't expected Guilliman to give her only three seconds to decide, and at such a rapid pace. It was as if he didn't care whether she was a god or not.

Hurriedly, she raised her hands and said anxiously:

"Wait! I'll cooperate!"

"Ahem." Horus, who had been observing, slightly smirked as though he had barely held back laughter. He cleared his throat and added:

"Thank you for your understanding and cooperation."

Shortly after that.

In an interrogation room located on the third underground level of the headquarters, the woman, now without her mask and cap, sat in a metal chair against the wall, her brow furrowed as she stared at the tightly sealed bio-sensing door ahead.

At last, her true appearance could be seen.

She had delicate features and well-balanced proportions, resembling a young woman in her early twenties—one who would stand out even in a crowd.

With her black hair and striking presence, she was even more captivating than some of the international movie stars under the company's entertainment division. What stood out most was how, under the light, her figure seemed to faintly glow.

"."

In the observation room, Horus also looked solemn as he watched her through the one-way glass.

Her appearance indeed matched the common depiction of the Greek gods.

Moreover, Horus could keenly sense that the woman emitted a similar psychic energy to that of his father and his primarch brothers.

If it was indeed psychic energy, then she could possibly be a product of the Warp.

This realization made Horus even more serious.

Because once the Warp was involved, demons and even Chaos Gods could come into play.

This must be the Warp threat that his father had warned him to guard against.

Swoosh—!

The bio-sensing door opened, causing Horus to shift his gaze to the figure walking into the interrogation room.

Inside the room.

Guilliman casually pulled a metal chair strong enough to support his weight, sat down, adjusted his posture, and asked:

"Since you claim to be Hera, queen of the Olympian gods, I want to know all the information about your Greek pantheon. And I mean all of it."

"I came here seeking cooperation, not—"

"Recognize your position," Guilliman interrupted her. "Atlas does not compromise with anyone, especially when you're the one asking for help.

So, only after I get the information I want will I consider the possibility of cooperating with you."

"."

Hera, being rebuffed by Guilliman, who was a thousand times younger than her, was left speechless, her face showing undisguised anger.

However, Guilliman's guess was correct—she had no leverage to negotiate with Atlas, let alone seek cooperation.

After a brief silence.

Hera shook her head and sighed, finally speaking:

"Four thousand years ago, the Olympian gods who operated on Earth dwindled until I became the only one left, a queen in name only.

The remaining gods have either been corrupted into demons or... imprisoned on Mars."
