I accidentally Married the Leader of the Noble Path

Chapter 15 - Yangshun Town

“Let’s go,” Qin Nan said, already prepared and ready to set off.

Shangguan Rouyue picked him up and soared in a specific direction.

Ever since Shangguan Rouyue started accompanying him, she had practically become his personal transportation. No matter where they went, she could carry him through the air effortlessly—highly convenient.

The journey wasn’t just comfortable; it was indulgent. Surrounded by her delicate fragrance, his head rested on a soft cushion as she embraced him gently. Flying through the air was steady and smooth, with impressive speed, unlike his previous struggles traversing rugged mountain roads. Back then, even a carriage wasn’t feasible due to the terrain, and traveling to a destination could take half a day.

In stark contrast, the two of them soared above the mountains and reached a town over a hundred kilometers away in just one hour.

Yangshun Town wasn’t a large city, merely an ordinary settlement, neither prominent nor particularly noteworthy in the region.

However, Yangshun Town was the nearest town to Niujiao Village, making it a common destination for villagers to shop for goods.

The sight of two people descending from the sky immediately drew countless gazes.

The town lacked city walls, and its buildings were simple. Yet, the streets were lively, bustling with pedestrians and carts.

Qin Nan and Shangguan Rouyue strolled along the main street.

Shangguan Rouyue’s striking beauty and extraordinary demeanor naturally attracted attention wherever she went.

However, she walked with unwavering composure, seemingly oblivious to the stares.

Whenever Qin Nan visited Yangshun Town, his routine was consistent: sell medicine first, then purchase daily necessities. Today was no different.

He headed to the busiest street, found an empty spot by the roadside, casually cleaned it up, spread out a long piece of cloth, and set up a small stall, displaying various bottles and jars.

These containers were filled with medicine—treatments for injuries, internal ailments, jaundice, and even special fertility drugs for livestock to assist in breeding.

Among these, the most popular item was the livestock fertility medicine.

Being far from the central regions, the area saw little conflict and was relatively impoverished. Life here was simple, and surrounding villages heavily relied on livestock, with some residents making a living from herding.

This created a significant demand for livestock fertility solutions, far exceeding that for injury medicine.

Shangguan Rouyue, unbothered by the task, helped arrange the stall. Many of the bottles and jars she produced came from her seemingly magical sleeves.

Thanks to her Sleeve of Secrets, Qin Nan had brought an impressive variety of medicines to sell.

Once the stall was ready, Qin Nan sat cross-legged, waiting for customers. Shangguan Rouyue stood quietly behind him.

The street was filled with other vendors, mostly from nearby villages, selling goods like wild herbs and mountain produce.

A stall like Qin Nan’s, with such a diverse array of medicines, was an uncommon sight.

Each bottle was labeled with its effects, ensuring customers could easily understand its purpose.

Many passersby stopped out of curiosity, though few were quick to make a purchase. The variety of medicines and their seemingly remarkable effects made people skeptical.

Their doubts were further fueled by Qin Nan’s youthful appearance—barely more than a boy.

However, upon seeing Shangguan Rouyue standing behind Qin Nan, those doubts diminished significantly.

Shangguan Rouyue was stunningly beautiful, and her demeanor—standing obediently like a maid—further highlighted Qin Nan’s extraordinary status.

Although Qin Nan’s attire was as simple as any villager’s, who could guarantee he wasn’t merely playing the fool to catch the tiger, purposefully trying to flaunt his superiority?

Eventually, the first customer approached—a man who had been observing for a while. He picked up a bottle labeled as a remedy for external injuries.

“May I test this first?” the man asked.

“Of course,” Qin Nan replied generously.

The man opened the bottle, dipped his finger into the dark green liquid, and applied it to his injured arm. The cooling sensation immediately relaxed his tense expression, and he showed visible delight.

Initially skeptical, he hadn’t expected the medicine to work so well—better than anything he’d used before.

“Great medicine. How much for this bottle?” he asked.

“Two silver coins,” Qin Nan replied.

Though two silver coins weren’t cheap, the efficacy made it worth the price. Without hesitation, the man paid and left with a smile.

Breaking the ice with the first sale, more customers soon followed. Familiar faces who had purchased from Qin Nan before also appeared, trusting his products enough to buy without hesitation.

Some bought in bulk, thrilled at the value they were getting.

Indeed, they were getting a bargain. Even though Qin Nan diluted the medicines to conceal their full potency, they still outperformed most offerings from local pharmacies.

If sold in a proper pharmacy, these medicines would fetch triple the price.

“Who gave you permission to sell medicine here? And fake medicine at that!”

Suddenly, a group of rough-looking men swaggered over, glaring at Qin Nan and seemed particularly envious of his success in making money.

The group of men were all burly and imposing, exuding an air of thuggery.

To be precise, they weren’t just acting like thugs—they were thugs.

Originally, several customers had gathered around the stall, ready to buy medicine. However, as soon as this group approached, their expressions turned wary.

One by one, the customers began to leave, fearing they might get caught in the crossfire of impending trouble.

The men encircled Qin Nan’s stall, their expressions arrogant and hostile.

“Who says my medicines are fake?” Qin Nan asked coldly.

“You brat dare to talk back? You’re asking for trouble. I’m telling you, this medicine is fake! My brother bought some of your pills before, and after taking them, his condition worsened. Not long after, he kicked the bucket!”

“Selling fake medicine that kills people!” the scar-faced man accused.

“When exactly did your brother buy this medicine?” Qin Nan asked calmly.

“Last week,” the man replied.

“Then you’ve got the wrong person. I haven’t been to Yangshun Town in over two months,” Qin Nan stated.

“I said it’s yours, so it’s yours! Your fake medicine killed my brother. How are you going to make this right?”

“Please bring your brother’s body over so I can take a look; maybe I can figure out the cause of death.” Qin Nan knew the other party was here to extort money, but instead of getting angry, he calmly engaged in a discussion with them, showing a bit of interest.

The scene was almost laughable—like a group of reckless antelope challenging a lion. Qin Nan’s gaze remained steady, even tinged with pity as he looked at them.

At the same time, he couldn’t help but wonder why trouble had suddenly come his way today, of all times.

“My brother’s body has already been cremated. What? Are you trying to shirk responsibility? Selling fake medicine that kills people, and you don’t want to take accountability?” the scar-faced thug snarled, his expression fierce and menacing.
