Chapter 202: Chapter 197.2 : Illumi Leaves!!
Illumi spoke at that moment: "Chrollo, I think you're still his main target. This cat-and-mouse game won't end as long as I'm here." He added, "It's about time we end this."
Chrollo paused and turned to look at him. "You're leaving?"
"Yes." Illumi didn't mince words and said directly, "After all, I'm Hisoka's second target. He'll come after me only after he kills you, and after killing me, he'll go for Germain."
"If handled well, he might go after Germain first."
"Also, I recently got information that someone saw my brother. He's been away from home for nearly half a year, and my mother is very worried. She insists I bring him back home."
Chrollo lowered his head and thought for a moment before answering, "I haven't restricted your abilities. Do whatever you want."
"I'll return the full payment," Illumi said next. "Since the mission wasn't completed, accepting the payment would be a disgrace to the Zoldyck family."
Chrollo pressed his lips together without responding.
Illumi ignored Chrollo, turned around, and walked away. Soon, his figure disappeared into the night.
A gust of wind howled through like ghostly wailing, causing the candle flame to flicker wildly, almost separating from the wick.
Inside the abandoned building, shadows swayed as if dancing demons, making it impossible to tell one from another.
---
The next morning, Germain woke up refreshed from a good night's sleep. The cool breeze made him feel invigorated.
He started his daily basic and advanced Nen training. After sweating profusely, he took a shower, changed into clean clothes, and finally picked up his phone from the bedside table.
There were many messages from various people, like the one from Biscuit that read, "Everything's ready, see you later."
As he scrolled through, he noticed a message from someone named "Weirdo."
The "Weirdo" always sent messages unilaterally.
Sometimes it was greetings, other times random selfies and landscape photos, or even strange observations and musings.
"Illumi has left Chrollo again. I wonder if this is a trap this time? How interesting—it's worth watching for a while."
"Chrollo's current expression never gets old. I wish I could keep it forever... Germain, who do you think will win in the end, me or Chrollo?"
As usual, Germain didn't reply to Hisoka's message. He got up and went outside, soon meeting Shizuku in the dining area.
They greeted each other and began eating breakfast. Shortly after they finished, Ging came in briskly.
"You're still eating?" Ging said, surprised. "Biscuit is ready. We're going to try the teleportation now."
He grabbed a sandwich from the table, took a bite, signaled to Germain and Shizuku, and turned to leave.
Germain and Shizuku tidied up and followed along.
The three arrived at a deep part of the castle, an empty hall specifically used to establish contact with the "Mansion Base." The room had walls on all sides, dark and shadowy, resembling a castle dungeon.
With a click, Ging pressed a switch on the wall, and the fluorescent lights flickered on.
He handed Shizuku a "card" and said, "Biscuit wants you to go first, return the 'Scarlet Eyes' to Chrollo, and then you all come back together."
"Alright." Shizuku took the "card."
To enter "Greed Island" from the outside, "players" need a "console," "game cartridge," "ring," and "Nen," and they enter through Eta.
To leave "Greed Island," "players" need a "spell card" and a "ring" and must choose a "transmission point" through Elena.
Although the process was a bit complex, it was a necessary "Vows and Limitations."
With "Game Master" privileges, the requirements were fewer. For example, Shizuku didn't need a "ring" to leave, just the "Game Master-exclusive card," and she didn't need to pass through Elena.
This principle was similar to how Razor used the "Game Master-exclusive Eliminate card" on the Phantom Troupe trying to break into "Greed Island" in the original timeline.
Shizuku used the "Game Master-exclusive transport card" and soon disappeared on the spot.
Ten minutes later, after a reminder from Biscuit, Shizuku remembered to report back, so she sent a text to Germain.
"I've arrived and am handing the 'Scarlet Eyes' over to Kurapika."
Germain replied, "Got it," and then looked up at Ging. "Everything is going smoothly on their side."
"Good." Ging, who seemed to have planned for this, pulled out a folding cot from the corner and laid it on the floor. He sprawled out on it, saying, "I'm going to take a nap. Wake me up when they arrive."
He then picked up his old, tattered hat, placed it over his face, crossed his hands behind his head, and really fell asleep on the cot.
Germain found himself bored as well. Instead of staying in the room, he took a stroll outside.
Half an hour later, Biscuit, Shizuku, Menchi, Buhara, and Abengane teleported into the hall, only to find Ging sound asleep.
