HP – Shadow Monarch!

Chapter 71 – Room of Requirement.

[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]
Third Person POV

Hogwarts.

...

...

"You were in Hogsmeade when you heard about the attack?" the Headmaster asked as Snape stood in the Headmaster's office once again.

"I was," Snape replied in a calm tone.

"And you were attacked?" Dumbledore asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I was... but it was easy to deal with them," Snape said, not lying.

"..." The Headmaster looked at him for a while, trying to find something in Snape, but he maintained a calm gaze in front of the Headmaster and all the portraits that were looking at him at that moment.

"You saw the strange wizard killing those dark wizards," Dumbledore finally spoke while Snape seemed to think.

"The one who cleaned up the mess you and the Ministry arrived at with dozens of dead students?" Snape mocked.

"I wouldn't say that, boy. He killed 50 wizards... no one should take so many lives..." Dumbledore, although surprised by Snape's accusation, remained calm and tried to explain.

"Maybe you're right, but that doesn't change the fact that Muggle-born students were dying because of them. Or do you think pure-bloods are more valuable than Muggle-born students, Headmaster?" Snape asked in a questioning tone.

"..." Dumbledore, remembering how difficult it was to talk to this student, tried to explain. "You know I don't think that way, not antagonistic to Voldemort and his followers."

"Strange... You and the Ministry are more concerned with a mysterious ninja killing wizards who launched an attack than with the victims. You're not even investigating those among the dead... Do you really care, you and the Ministry?" Snape raised an eyebrow. He was not one to moralize, but he certainly didn't like this man's hypocrisy.

"The boy is good..." a portrait murmured.

"Quiet!" Another portrait of a former headmistress immediately called for silence.

"I am investigating if that's what you're asking, boy... but things are complicated, and a student shouldn't get involved in this..." Dumbledore murmured while Snape wanted to laugh.

"But you think I'm the wizard who killed the 50, don't you?" He smiled while the Headmaster looked at him and then turned his gaze to Fawkes on his perch, but the phoenix didn't seem to act badly towards Snape.

He sighed, seeing that Fawkes had no negative reaction to Snape, which was his gauge to see if the boy could be involved in the deaths. Snape was unaware of this, and Fawkes felt nothing from Snape because he had a power within him that blocked any information coming from him, even without Snape himself understanding very well what was happening.

"Of course not, boy. How could I believe that a fifth-year student would have such power..." He gave his verdict, not seeing anything wrong, especially reaching his limit as Snape cornered him, leaving him without a reaction. Snape had always been someone who left him almost without answers, and he was one of the last people Dumbledore wanted to see in front of him. Even so, he needed to talk to this boy about a few more things.

"Tell me, Mr. Snape... What is your goal... I've heard you're extremely skilled in duels, that the professors have already placed you in the seventh year and want to take you to Scotland, to the championship next year... You're also an excellent rising wizard in Transfiguration and Potions... the Herbology and Charms professors have no contrary opinion about your performance in those classes... Which makes me very curious... with all this talent of yours... what do you expect for your future?" He asked, although he found Snape's transformation very strange, he found nothing that could prove his hypothesis and wanted to understand what the boy's goals were.

Snape, seeming to understand Dumbledore's thoughts behind his words, sighed before finally starting to open up. "Did you know that I tried to kill myself during these holidays?" He began, while all the eyes in that place stared at him immensely surprised by this.

"You tried to kill yourself?!" Even Dumbledore was stunned by this statement.

"Yes, I put a rope around my neck and hung myself to end my life in a room in Diagon Alley. But don't be so surprised, Headmaster, I've always had a shitty life. My father beat me at home out of anger towards my mother. At school, I was sought out to be used and couldn't have a good friendship beyond acquaintances seeking favors in Slytherin. Outside the house, I was bullied by the Marauders; they even tried to kill me with Lupin transformed into a werewolf. I had a fight with Lily, and she stopped talking to me... I didn't have much to lose, so I tried to end my life." Snape confessed something he hadn't told anyone.

"That's terrible, boy. Making such a decision is never right under any circumstances," the Headmaster said in a severe tone.

"Spare me your sermons, Headmaster. I'm not here to hear your pity or your lectures," Snape said in a harsh tone. He was just answering his question.

"..." The Headmaster said nothing more, once again reminded of how difficult it was to talk to this boy.

"I made my decision and did it, but strangely... I was saved by chance when the rope snapped. To me, that was a sign, a sign that I should change, so I erased everyone from my past and decided to move forward, focusing on my own future," Snape said in a calm tone before looking at the Headmaster.

"But I still don't know much about what to do, but I know I'm on the right path. I don't intend to take any side in this war, whether it's yours or the dark wizard's, if you still want to know about that..." Snape said.

"But you saw what they did in Hogsmeade! You're a good boy. Don't you think this is right, just as you saw that they attacked you too," Dumbledore tried to pull Snape to his side.

"I saw, and I know how to take care of myself. I also saw how you transfer blame to someone else for your mistakes. If that's not wrong, I don't know what is, Headmaster," Snape said in a very controlled and calm tone.

"I think you're right about that..." The Headmaster had to admit in the end, a little surprised by this boy once again cornering him.

"Anyway, I'll go my own way. Now I want to know about my exit from the school. I need to continue doing some things in Diagon Alley, buying a few things," Snape said.

The Headmaster looked at him for a while before sighing. "You can continue going there. I won't take away your outings... but don't get involved in anything the Ministry could accuse you of any crime..." he said, and Snape nodded.

"You may go now." In the end, Dumbledore said, seeing that he couldn't find anything with Snape after all, and the boy turned around before leaving.

"You'll never get him on your side like that, Dumbledore..." A portrait spoke.

"I know... but this thing that he tried to kill himself... it's no wonder he changed so much and doesn't even want to talk to Lily Evans anymore..." Dumbledore commented.

"Why are you so interested in this boy? Isn't he just a half-blood?" Another Headmaster asked, with an ideology more aligned with pure-bloods.

"You know he was the one who entered the forest and came out alive after facing the Juggernaut, right?"

"It was him?"

"Yes... he survived somehow... and he has such great talent that some professors claim he will be the most talented wizard of this generation..." Dumbledore had to admit. "Besides, his magical growth is alarming... I've never seen anything like it... that's why I must bring him to my side against Voldemort..." he admitted. "But it's so difficult to talk to him..."

"You, Albus. He doesn't seem to like you one bit," the other Headmistress in a portrait stated the obvious, and Albus could only agree.

Meanwhile, Snape was making his way through the main tower and went to the seventh floor of the school, looking for the entrance the house-elves had told him about. As he walked through the corridors, seeking the information he had received, some Aurors passed by him, but without any importance, as he continued cutting through the corridors. 'A room that opens for those who need it...' Snape murmured while looking carefully to the sides, searching for any sign of the mysterious door.

"Snape..." A voice called Snape as he continued until he turned his attention back to see Pandora approaching him.

"Pandora..." Snape murmured.

"You seem to be looking for something... what is it?" she said, approaching him.

"A door to a room on this floor," Snape simply replied without any hesitation.

"Hm..." She seemed thoughtful. "Then I'll help you, after all, I have to thank you for saving me!" she declared with a slight blush on her face. "I was very sad about some students dying, some I even recognized by sight, but I know you also saved so many. That's why..." She was about to continue, but then, next to them, the wall began to change and a door started to materialize.

"This..." Snape couldn't help but be a bit surprised by this as he allowed a small smile.

"What is this?!" Pandora murmured, confused.

"This is my room," he said, approaching as he unlocked and opened the door while Pandora followed him. He entered a well-lit room, closing the door behind him, with a large glass ceiling like a greenhouse. The place was spacious and had various rooms with corridors connected to the large room where Snape and Pandora stood.

"This?!" Pandora was amazed by it.

"So this is the Room of Requirement... it seems quite spacious..." he had to admit while thinking about what to do next. After all, if this place was as secret as the house-elf had said, it would be perfect for him to start training from now on.

He began to explore the place with Pandora, who looked around. "Look, Snape, there are some books here!"

"Yes... but there's also a place to train," Snape said, looking at the training field in the room with many training dummies.

"Snape, there are so many old things here, are they things lost by students?!" Pandora called from another room, and Snape approached, facing a huge space filled with all sorts of things. He looked at a broom and was surprised by the model, which said it was from 1713.

"The house-elves pick up lost items and place them in a special chest somewhere in the school..." Snape murmured, looking up at the supposed entrance like a funnel dropping everything into this place. 'So the elves themselves knew about this room and didn't even realize such a thing,' he thought.

He proceeded to the entrance where there was a door he hadn't entered and ended up entering with Pandora... finding an open field with a waterfall, grass, and trees.

"This looks amazing!! And to think there's a place like this in the middle of the castle!!!" Pandora exclaimed excitedly while Snape had to admit the place was really beautiful and surprising. "Looks like I already know where to put Atlas and Shadow."
