Chapter 11: Chapter 10: Hogwarts Arrival
"I'm a guy you bloody idiots!" Hey, I just realized I can say bloody now without sounding out of place because I have the proper accent for it, weird.
….
Anyway, turning around I opened my trunk up and pulled out my own robes before looking at the two of them and making a shooting motion.
I'm not exactly caring about having people around, I have more than enough self confidence for something like that to affect me but it would be strange if I didn't want to see them change but I'm fine with them seeing me change.
After a moment they were out of the compartment and I had pulled down the curtains so the glass wouldn't act like, you know, glass.
So with that, I pulled on my robes after putting on the basic uniform underneath, which I believe were resold items as they were a bit small and a bit big in some areas.
From an outside view they mostly looked a little baggy which I'm fine with, I prefer baggy clothes anyway and it wouldn't be the first time I've had something that wasn't made for my size.
Though the robe itself is a bit weird to feel on my body in places, probably because it's an article of clothing that I've never worn before, but still doesn't change the fact that I'm more than likely going to have to spend time getting used to wearing this kind of stuff.
Checking around it, I found some pockets along with a long skinny pocket that looked like it was meant to hold a wand.
Picking up my wand again, I held it for a moment, feeling that weird hum under my fingers that I just couldn't describe before slipping it into its new pocket to hold onto.
It was located at my left hip, similar actually to a gun holster in placement now that I was thinking about it, though there wasn't really a need to.
Shaking my head to clear the thought away, I knocked my hand against the sliding door and sat back down in my seat and started back on reading
Stuff to think on later as Harry and Ron entered back into the compartment as a voice echoed throughout the train that we would be arriving in about five minutes and to leave all our items and trunks on the train as they would be taken to the school all looked to each other.
I just just stood up and opened up my trunk to place my book back in it while they started to quickly try and clean up the mess of wrappers on the floor and seats.
….
Getting off the train was really annoying with the amount of people I had to avoid touching me at any point but I managed with an interesting assortment of body language and mildly veiled threats.
Still, I made it and that's all I needed to count it as a win, though when I first saw Hagrid I was a little concerned that I'm pretty sure the height difference between him and the rest of the first years was big enough that he might accidentally crush a kid by stepping on them.
As long as it wasn't me then I would be fine with it I guess, as I along with everyone else was led around a corner and saw what has to be in the top, maybe, ten best sights I've ever seen.
Hogwarts was just really cool to look at during the night like it was now, well it wasn't night just yet, but it was getting close, the sun was practically on its last legs before being completely set.
It gave both the lake and the castle a low to it, from the light of the setting sun, not to mention the actual feel of the place.
I was broken out of my analysis as the half-giant sized man called out for everyone to get in a boat and that there was to be no more than four in said boats.
I ended up sitting with Harry and Ron, who had followed me when I headed towards the closest one, along with Hermione who was already there.
Ron didn't particularly seem pleased with the only girl of the four of us, but I didn't bother doing anything about it.
Not exactly my problem, plus I know it gets sorted out in the end. From there all the boat floated onward towards the castle which really just magnified how bloody massive the place was now that we were actively moving towards the place.
Though while that was happening, I became mildly curious about how the boats were moving, it wasn't Hagrid he technically isn't allowed to do magic anymore, I'm not sure why but I think that's correct.
So it's probably a rune like what is used on brooms but instead of having the user control them, they all probably have predetermined paths mapped out for them, which means the path this boat is taking is the same path it always takes.
I'm not sure why but that was interesting to me, it seems sort of like coding, not that I know all that much about it, but I know a few things that I could use to compare the two things to each other.
Still, from there we all got out and we had our way to the front door, though I noted that Hagrid had found Neville's toad at some point which was neat.
Said massive man then turned after making sure everyone was here and knocked on the door three times.
After barely a moment of hesitation the door swung open, revealing a familiar looking woman, with green robes on, looking at us all, it looked for a moment for my mind to connect her to McGonagall, the movie depictions of these people are throwing me off.
