Housekeeper in the dungeon

chapter 30

Episode 30

The meat was almost gone.

Hee-won, who was busy inhaling the meat, lifted his head as if something had occurred to him.

“Hmph. My mind. The meat was so delicious that I forgot about the soul mate of pork belly.”

“What?”

Hee-na seemed to know what her brother was going to say, but she pretended not to.

Hee-won snapped her wrist, miming to grab a small glass.

“Don’t you think a cup of dew here would be perfect for washing your mouth?”

Hee-na shook her head sharply at her brother’s suggestion of a clear, strong liquid.

“No.”

“Why, it’s a nice day, and if you can’t be bothered to go out and get some, why don’t I? If you open the door at the grocery store, I’ll pick up some snacks on the way. Just wait in front of it.”

Hee-won was so drunk that she agreed to run the errand.

But Hee-na was very adamant about not drinking, because…….

“You have to finish this and clean the house.”

Hee-won made a face in response.

“What? Clean? This place is fine as it is, what else do you need to clean?”

Hee-Na’s eyes lit up at the question.

“I don’t like it! How can I sleep in a place like this? You looked so hungry right now, that’s why I fed you, otherwise I would have cleaned first.”

It had been over two months since I had gotten the Housekeeper skill. By now, cleanliness is no longer enough to impress Hee-Na, who has what she calls “wild fingertips.

“I have a class name, and I can’t be a housekeeper and live in a house like this!”

She shouted, clenching her fists, as Oh Sae-gyi clapped his antennae together.

“Right, right, right. ♥Right mindset♥”

“I got three days off, so I’ll spend one day cleaning up the house.”

“Right, right, right.”

“……I have three days, can’t you clean up a little later?”

Hee-na mumbled and put her foot down as Hee-won shoved the ssam in her mouth.

“No! If you want to live in my house, you have to help clean up!”

“Oh no. You’re a bad landlord.”

“I’m not going to ask you to do much, so just get your hands dirty, you can do that, right?”

“Yay, yay. Okay.”

Hee-won replied sullenly and punched him in the stomach. His stomach, which had been flabby, was now stretched taut.

“Are you done?”

Instead of answering, Hee-won let out a loud grunt and fell backward onto her stomach.

“Ouch!”

Hee-na slapped him on the thigh.

“Big brother, you shouldn’t lie down right after eating!”

“Oh, it’s because you have a big plan. I’ll lie down for ten minutes, Hee-na.”

Hee-won replied as she stretched out.

Hee-na looked down at Hee-won in disbelief.

“Where did you get this habit from?

She was the number one slave in the slave quarters, so she didn’t know where she’d picked up this lazy behavior.

“It’s ……. It’s your first day home, so I’m letting you off the hook.”

Hee-Na clicked her tongue picked up the round bowl and put it away. She didn’t forget to give her brother a casual kick in the side on the way.

Hee-won was so impatient that she shouted.

“Hey, Yi hee-na, when did you say that we shouldn’t work and just play, but you change your mind so quickly?”

“I meant that you shouldn’t do dangerous work and suffer, not that you should lie down as soon as you eat!”

Hee-na, like her hard-working parents, couldn’t stand to see them being lazy.

The dishes had to be washed as soon as she ate, and the floor had to be swept every day, even if she couldn’t mop.

Unless I was sleeping, I wasn’t allowed to lie down and be lazy unless I had a good reason. I had to get up and do something.

Like a brother and sister, Hee-won couldn’t stay still for long.

“……I did!

Hee-won’s parents must be spinning in their graves because she had turned into this in just two months.

Noticing Hee-na’s pathetic gaze, Hee-won protested.

“I’m lying down for a reason, won’t you stop looking at me so pathetically?”

“What’s the point of lying down? You’re just lying down.”

“I’m lying down for a skill.”

“Skills?”

hee-na narrowed her eyes. She couldn’t help but laugh at the ridiculousness of it all.

But Hee-won looked quite serious.

“I just unlocked a new skill at the labor camp. It’s called ‘How to be a Diligent and Sincere Cow’.”

What a stupid skill name.

Hee-na’s skill name was equally strange but not as strange as ‘How to be a Diligent and Sincere Cow’.

“What kind of skill is that, that you have to eat and lie down?”

Hee-won asked suspiciously. Of course, he was still stretched out on his stool.

“Let me read you the skill description. ‘How to Become a Diligent Ox’. Rank D. If you lie down as soon as you eat, you will become a cow, which means you can work hard like a cow. 20% Production Buff. Active Skill. It automatically prevents reflux esophagitis.”

Hearing that, there was only one possible reaction from Hee-Na.

“What?”

She was stunned by the absurdity of the skill.

Hee-won waved her hand as if to say she understood.

“I know, I know, I know, it sounds weird, but it’s true. I tried it, and it gives you a buff if you lie down for more than 15 minutes, but I’ve never laid down for more than that, so I don’t know if it works.”

“To be honest, it sounds like you’re lying because you want to be lazy.”

With such an odd skill-casting requirement, any buffer would be bound to have their suspicions raised.

“Ugh. Do I look like the kind of person who would make up such a lame lie just to lie down for a few minutes?”

“Um……. No.”

It was.

Hee-Na knew what she wanted. She had no imagination, so whenever she was assigned to draw an imaginary picture for an art project, her sister would often draw it for her.

“I know it looks weird,” she says, “and I swear on the life of my parents. But it’s my skill.”

And if she was willing to bet her parents on it, it was real. Hee-Na sighed.

“How did my brother and I end up awakening as such weird classes and have such weird skills?”

“I don’t know, it’s because of our eight arms.”

Hee-won replied, lying on his back.

Fifteen minutes went by quickly as they talked about Hee-won’s skills and washed the dishes.

“Hee-na, I’ve fulfilled the skill requirements. Buffs are coming!”

Hee-won jumped up from the floor with a happy face. She looked like she could chew through a steel bar.

“Good, good. Let’s start cleaning.”

Hee-Na said as she put on an apron and a hair towel.

“I’ll open the window first.”

Hee-won walked briskly to the window. The window was opaque, so she couldn’t see the outside. For reference, the 3-pyeong studio room didn’t have one.

“Huh? Speaking of which, what’s outside the window?

Hee-na remembered the information about Home Sweet Home’s neighborhood in hindsight.

“This is a house built inside a dungeon!

One of the most important things she’d forgotten in her excitement to upgrade to a two-bedroom.

I looked down at Ouyang Yi, who was waving the antenna from side to side.

“I didn’t teach you that on purpose.”

He seemed to be making excuses, saying that he had forgotten about it just like Hee-na and that he hadn’t intentionally withheld the information about the apartment.

He was exchanging glances with Oh Sae-yi when he heard a rather pathetic monster cry.

“Ew! What is this!”

Hee-won screamed and slammed the open window shut again. She looked back at Hee-Na with a pale face.

“Hee, is it Hee-na? I must have gotten faint. I think I saw a ghost.”

My worst fears had come true. Hee-na let out a deep sigh.

“It’s a dungeon outside the door, so it must be a dungeon outside the window, right?

Would the cleaning have to wait until later? There was a lot to explain to Hee-won.

After listening to Hee-na’s explanation for a while, Hee-won calmly summarized the main points.

“……So you’re saying that this house is a house inside a dungeon?”

“Yes. To be precise, there’s a door somewhere in every dungeon that leads to our house.”

“There’s only one door, but how is that possible?”

“I don’t know. Weirdly, a dungeon is a house in the first place. Use your common sense and accept it, big brother.”

Hee-na advised humbly.

Hee-won nodded hesitantly. There wasn’t much about their skills that was normal in the first place.

“Then, if it’s a dungeon, can’t we open the windows and get some ventilation?”

Hee-won echoed Hee-na’s concern for her siblings.

“Home safety 99.9% guaranteed. 4-meter radius safety distance guaranteed.”

Oh worked hard to emphasize the safety of Home Sweet Home. Meanwhile, Hee-na noticed that the safety distance had increased from 2 meters to 4 meters.

“Oh Sack, is it because my skill has increased to Rank C? It was originally 2 meters.”

“Rank Up → Increased Safe Distance”

Uncharacteristically, Wu Xiaoyi drew a table in the air and explained it in detail.

Looking at the table, there was no safe distance in the F category. Hee-Na felt a deep sense of relief that she had awakened as a D.

“Phew. At least my ‘Home Sweet Home’ rating has gone up to C, which means I have more safety distance.”

“Ugh. Hmph.”

“That’s right. Thanks for the congratulations.”

Speaking of which, Hee-Na decided to go check out the dungeon grounds with her brother.

By the way, Hee-won, who was given a spare key by Hee-na, was also able to open the door to the dungeon. Only the doors outside the dungeon could not be opened freely by guests.

“So we can just open the door without thinking about it, or with the idea of going to the dungeon in mind?”

“Yes. If you open it while thinking about the dungeon you’ve been to, you can go there again.”

“I don’t know. I don’t know of any dungeons I’d like to revisit.”

“You must have gone through a lot of trouble.”

At Hee-won’s wistful reply, Hee-na grabbed the doorknob and pulled it open, revealing a lush, green forest in front of them.

“Wow. The smell of wood.”
Hee-Na took a deep breath. Her chest heaved. It was like being in a forest bath.

Hee-won was also looking around the front yard(?) of the house.

“Be careful not to cross the line. Brother.”

“Okay, I’ll be careful.”

Fortunately, there was a line 4 meters from the house that was visibly marked. Thanks to this, they didn’t have to worry about unknowingly stepping out of their comfort zone.

“This is…….”
