Housekeeper in the dungeon

chapter 12

Episode 12

For some reason, everyone along the way seemed to pretend to know Woo Min Ah.

Hee-na thought it was because of her personality, but she didn’t think it was because she was such an important person.

“He has a high rank, and he has a great ability to organize and control people. Is that surprising?”

“No, it’s just that Mr. Kang is the highest-ranking Hunter, so I thought it would be him.”

The head of HR smirked at the innocent answer.

“Of course, strength is an important factor in determining the difficulty of a dungeon run, but in a dungeon run where several people enter as a team, teamwork is the most important thing, and the leader’s ability to judge the situation is crucial. In that sense, General Team Leader Woo Min-ah is a good leader.”

“And…….”

Hee-na was overwhelmed by the HR manager’s praise. She couldn’t believe that the person she was chewing meat with until yesterday was such a great person.

“I must have gotten in line.

For the first time, she was so close to the center of power.

The head of HR shook his head once to change the mood.

“Ms. Lee, then.”

“Yes!”

Hee-na replied quickly.

He smiled, one corner of his mouth quirking upward to see if she liked it.

“Will you be able to start working next Monday?”

“What? Yes, yes, yes, I can.”

Hee-Na replied, stunned by the sudden acceptance.

Since the position was for cleaning staff, it seemed like the HR manager had hired her without much discussion. At least, that’s what she thought.

“Then you can come here next Monday. There will be a brief orientation and handover.”

As Hee-Na walked out of the interview room in her clean shoes, the HR manager added a few more words.

“We, the Blue Dragon Guild, are honored to be able to recruit someone of your caliber.”

Hee-Na blushed bright red at the embarrassing gilding. She bowed her head in gratitude and left the room.

As she closed the door to the interview room and walked down the deserted hallway, she let out a small sigh. It wasn’t from worry. It was a sense of relief.

‘It’s so easy to get a job,’ she thought.

I got a good job in no time. I felt like I was half-dreaming.

I thought, “This is why they say connections are the best. Parachute, parachute, parachute for a reason.

I thought I’d never have that benefit in my life, but the first taste of connections was so sweet and exhilarating.

‘A full-time job, a higher salary than my previous job, and a much bigger name.

Sure, it was a job change from desk work to cleaning, but in hindsight, it wasn’t a bad deal.

Hee-Na’s awakening class was Housekeeper. The more she cleaned, the more experience she gained and the higher her rank.

“I’m not sure what I can do with this ability yet,” she says, “but the higher the rank, the better.

In the future, there will be a use for this ability.

With that thought, Hee-Na left the Blue Dragon Guild.

While she was out, she attended an interview and registered as an Awakened.

Awakened people had to report their awakening within a month of their awakening, or face a terrifying fine of up to 20 million won.

It was a policy to identify potentially dangerous psychics.

Of course, it didn’t include Hee-na at all. She was ranked D, which meant that she only had abilities that didn’t allow her to be a Hunter.

Hee-Na’s registration as an Awakened was quickly finalized.

“Chicken for dinner!”

Hee-Na went home after buying chicken from a fried chicken place near Lulurala.

The ability to summon her front door from anywhere with a wall was all well and good, but the downside was that it was hard to order delivery.

“But it’s a free house with no rent, so I should be grateful for that.

She also liked the fact that she would be forced to eat less food, which would save money on her food bill. Hee-na was a little salty.

She walked in the front door with a bag of whole chicken dangling from her hand.

“Oh Sack, the chicken is here!”

“Drinking two nights in a row, bad attitude.”

The little snail pointed out that Hee-na’s behavior was that of a drunk.

“I feel like I’m drunk on a big company job.”

Hee-Na claimed she was high on one of the many state-approved drugs.

The snail twitched its two antennae in response.

Hee-na changed from her interview suit to a pair of cheongsam, washed her hands, and got ready to face the chicken. She hadn’t eaten all day and was starving.

“How much chicken?”

Even though I didn’t have any small plates, so I had to line up the chicken on the floor, I was genuinely happy.

My house is clean, my back is warm, I have a good job, and I don’t have to worry about the future. And with chicken in front of me, I was in heaven.

“I wish I had a brother.”

Hee-na picked up two chicken legs with both hands and thought about her brother. If he were here, she would have shared one with him.

“Where did he go this time, and why haven’t I heard from him yet?”

It had been five days since they’d left the dungeon gate, and he’d been gone for a week before hee-na’s awakening. In total, she hadn’t heard from him for ten days and two nights.

“I know it’s all Hunter, but I’m worried about you now that you’re homeless…….”

Hee-Na grumbled as she took turns picking at two chicken legs.

The dungeons took quite a bit of time to clear. Of course, the easier ones could be tackled in a day, but the higher-ranked ones could take weeks or even months.

So it wasn’t uncommon for Hee-na’s brother to be unreachable for a few days or even weeks at a time.

“I’m sure he’s fine, but still.

At first, she wondered if he was going to die, but now she knows.

He was trying to help her, too. He didn’t want her to worry, so he tried to come back as unharmed as possible.

If he was gone, she would be completely alone.

“Ugh. I’m sure she’s doing fine on her own. I’ll call you when I get out of the dungeon.”

She wondered what her brother would think if he heard that his sister had awakened as the strange class of Housekeeper.

“He’d probably like it, right?

I’m sure he’d love it because it would give him a skill that would fulfill his dream of owning a home once and for all.

As I got this far, a question suddenly popped into my head.

“Oh Sack, can I bring other people here?”

Actually, in retrospect, I should have thought of it sooner. I hadn’t thought about it because I was too busy with my suddenly dirty house, getting a job, and registering for the Awakening.

Even if I had a free house, it was useless if my brother couldn’t move in.

“Family, guests, can move in and invite.”

Fortunately, Mr. Oh answered in the affirmative. Hee-na sighed and patted her chest.

“That’s good. You can come in if you’re related to me.”

Hee-na’s spirits quickly lifted, and she chewed the rest of the bone with gusto. It was savory and delicious.

While savoring the fatty fries, Hee-na opened her status window and carefully reviewed the skills she’d used so far, all of which were ranked D except for the ‘Plucking Herbs’ skill.

A closer look reveals a skill level that she hadn’t noticed before. Some were higher than Hee-Na thought, and some were lower.

In particular, the proficiency level of ‘Endless Fingertips’ was higher than she thought.

“Is it because it’s a passive skill? It’s high for just cleaning, but maybe it applies to casting other skills.”

Considering that I grilled the meat yesterday, it explained the high skill level.

However, it’s easier to notice what you’re not good at than what you are.

What caught Hee-na’s attention the most was the skill level of the ‘Exterminate Pests’ skill.

“Why does Exterminate have a negative proficiency? It’s -100!” she asked.

She couldn’t remember when, where, or how she had used this skill.

“What the hell is this?”

As Hee-Na puzzled over the skill window, a nervous message popped up in front of her.

“Nasty memory! Erase the memory of the assault on the five-colored giant. Condemn the evil deed!”

The Five Colors raised its two antennae-like horns and stomped on Hee-Na’s knee. Unfortunately, it was such a tiny touch that she couldn’t even feel the tickle.

But Hee-na feigned pain, saying, “Ouch, ouch, ouch,” and leaned down to ask, “What do you mean?

“What do you mean, I deleted my memory of assaulting you? When did I ever beat up a small, cute snail-like you?”

In hindsight, I remembered the intense first encounter. I had seen a tiny snail popping up from the ground, thought it was a bug, and slapped it.
