Housekeeper in the dungeon

chapter 02

The Lifeguard in the Dungeon
Episode 2

“……What? What is this?

I’d never heard of the Awakened class before, and my mouth dropped open, forgetting my desperate situation.

.

It was even ranked D, just like its D-ranked brother, and the class description was insincere.

Furthermore, the stats were very weak.

Even if you’re an F-class, you’re supposed to have a total of 30 or more stats in the Constitution, Strength, and Agility categories.

However, Hee-na’s status window was miserable.

<◆Stamina 8 ◆Magic 1 ◆Strength 5 ◆Agility 6 ◆Toughness 20 ◆Luck 45>.

“If she’s like this even after awakening, what’s the difference between her and a normal person?

The fact that he had more points in each of his Tenacity and Luck stats than his Strength total was ridiculous.

“My brother told me that Luck stat is useless because it’s not a visible ability!

Hee-Na hid under a large tree and chewed on her nails, trying to figure out how to improve this situation.

But it didn’t change the fact that her class was very weird and that she was born with a mangstat.

[Kyaahhhhhh!]

As if it had caught her scent, the monster’s cries drew closer. At this rate, she would be torn to shreds by the monster’s claws.

“Run!

She had to run if she wanted to survive. Hee-na maximized her Agility 6 stat and ran through the lush grass.

[Keeeeeeeeeeee!]

But it was clear that the monster’s Agility stat was higher than hers. She could feel the monster’s hot breath right on the back of her neck.

Her head jerked up.

“Oh, no!”

Hee-Na used her 20 Tenacity stat to refuse to give up her life.

Instead, she chose to throw herself into the swamp where the creeping algae floated.

Pow!

With a loud splash, she fell into the slimy swamp. The water tasted strange in her mouth and she gulped it down.

She floundered and kept moving forward, but her back felt cold. My instincts warned me that something dangerous was nearby.

I looked back and saw a crocodile-like monster the size of a small car, its mouth gaping open.

“Hiiiiit!”

She was about to let out a breathless scream at the enormity of the sight when something blocked her path.

[Keeeeeeeeeeee!]

It was the dinosaur-like creature that had been chasing her, and it hadn’t noticed the crocodile, charging across the swamp toward her.

[Grrrrrr!]

The crocodile thought it was an attack on her, and it flashed its jagged teeth and swished its snout.

[Kiiiiiig! Kyaaah!]

The dinosaur-like creature was struck by the crocodile’s snout, sending it sprawling into the air.

There was a popping sound, but the dinosaur rose to its feet and roared.

[Kiiii, keeeeeeeeee!]

[Gooooooo, ooooo!]

The two monsters screamed at each other like two reckless drivers in a collision, and soon they were tangled up and fighting.

Hee-na, covered in green algae, was left behind in a heap.

“Thank God, thank God, thank God, thank God.

She thanked the heavens for her 45 Luck stat.

Then she scrambled out of the swamp. Very carefully, so that the two monsters wouldn’t notice.

“Where do we go now?

Hee-Na looked around at the greenery all around her. Somewhere, somewhere a little safer than here, she should stay put and wait for rescue.

“Do you have any abilities that could help?

As she crouched down and quickly scanned the status window, one skill caught her desperate gaze.

It was nothing more or less than a skill for making a bed.

But one word in the skill description caught Hee-Na’s eye.

“Safe!

Now that she was sucked into the dungeon gate alone, she had to hold on to any straw she could find.

Even if it was just a crappy D-ranked bed-making skill!

After activating the skill, a system prompt popped up in front of her.

“I have to do this myself?”

Hee-Na frowned. But she did as the system prompted and looked around.

One by one, she began to see things she hadn’t seen before. For example, there was a glowing status message.

Before she even realized it was a weirdly named skill. Hee-Na’s eyes flashed with words.

.

And so on…….

A lush, green jungle backdrop filled with information about which grasses are edible and which are not.

“Well, that’s a good thing, because if I’m going to lie down, I might as well lie down in a safe, edible grass.

Hee-Na was no longer panicking. Instead, she started gnawing on every edible, safe, or tasty grass she could find.

Each time a notification popped up, her fingers quickly became more precise. She looked like a madwoman, frantically picking herbs while covered in dirty water.

“Is this enough?”

Hee-Na gasped and looked down at the pile of grass behind her back. It looked big enough for a person to lie down and hide.

Hee-Na pushed through the grass and found a suitable nook.

“Comfy bed!”

She cast the skill and her hands began to move of their own accord. A clear picture of what to do and how to do it appeared in her head. All she had to do was follow along.

“…… Done!”

Is it the simplicity of the material? It didn’t take her long to finish the bed made of grass.

Hee-na stared at her handiwork, and an explanation window popped up.

And underneath it were numbers.

It also said that the skill duration is information only the caster can see. The explanation was kind in a way.

“I think I did okay for my first time.”

Hee-Na smiled to herself.

It looked a little crude, but on a caveman’s level, it was a pretty good dragonfly. It was science as advertised on TV.

Just in time, I heard the sound of something approaching. The fine hairs on her body stood on end.

Hee-Na crawled into her grass bed, not sure if it would work.

It was cozy, but she was afraid. If the ‘cozy bed’ skill didn’t work, her life would be in danger.

[Tsk, tsk, tsk!]

Hee-Na hid in her well-made Class D ‘Cozy Bed of Edible Grasses’ and held her breath.

It wasn’t long before the monster appeared. It was a giant snake that looked like it could swallow a man in one bite.

At this point, it stopped being creepy and started looking like a computer graphic.

[Qiiyi, qiiyi profit!]

The giant snake slowly turned its head, flicking its long tongue. Its eyes searched the surroundings for food.

“Please don’t kill me!

Hee-Na pleaded, clasping her hands together.

[Quiui].

Had her wish reached the heavens?

The snake turned away, unable to see her.

Hee-na barely managed to steady her trembling jaw.

‘Suh, it looks like the skill worked.

I thought it was a lowly class and skill that used dog poop for medicine, but it was surprisingly helpful. If she kept this up, she might be able to hold out until help arrived.

“I’m glad I woke up as a housekeeper or something. Otherwise, I might have died a long time ago.

If she’d awakened as an obscure D-class Hunter like her brother, she’d probably have ended up on the Nether Path after trying to kill a monster.

“……Ah, sleepy.”

Now that I was somewhat safe, fatigue crept into my surprised body.

The bunks were unimaginably comfortable for something made of grass. ‘Comfortable beds,’ they said, and they lived up to their name.

‘No, no. I can’t fall asleep like this…….’

Hee-na curled up in the grass and blinked slowly. Drowsiness had set in. Sleep came quickly and easily.

The effect was supposed to increase her recovery speed by 20%, but was it forcing her to sleep so that she could enter recovery?

“Ahhhh…….”

A hollow yawn escaped her lips.

Eventually, Hee-Na’s head snapped up and she fell asleep. It was a deep, dreamless sleep.

No one knew if it was from the dungeon fight or the third night of overtime.

* * *

“…… Hey, look!”

A cheerful voice called out, and something poked Hee-Na’s body.

It was a relentless touch like someone checking to see if a potato was done, which meant it hurt like hell.

“Ow!”

Hee-na screamed, forgetting the situation and jumping to her feet.

“It hurts!”

“I thought it was a plant-like monster, but it’s a real person.”

A woman with fierce eyes stared down at Hee-Na.

She wore light armor and held a long spear in her hand. She was wearing light armor and holding a long spear in her hand.

But such trivial pain didn’t matter to the awakened Hee-Na.

“You must be Hunter!”

The woman was a Hunter who had entered the dungeon to suppress the dungeon.
