Honkai Star Rail: Starting With Marrying Acheron

Chapter 188: Let's go on a date on an island vacation

Lin Shuang led Firefly into the bathroom.

She was a little worried that Firefly might feel shy or embarrassed, but the girl simply raised her hand, undid the headband on her head, and placed it in her palm.

Lin Shuang's gaze lingered. While game characters had fixed designs, accessories often became iconic symbols.

But in reality, people didn't always wear the same outfits or carry the same items.

Even Kafka's signature round sunglasses had gone through several styles.

However, since the first time they met, Firefly had never changed her headband.

Though well maintained, signs of wear made it clear that it had been used for a long time.

"What's wrong?" Firefly, now free of all her hair accessories, looked even more like the girl next door. Tilting her head slightly, she held the headband in her hand and gazed at Lin Shuang curiously.

Lin Shuang realized she had been staring. "Curious about this?"

"Well, you always carry it with you. I was a little curious."

As she spoke, Lin Shuang undid her own hair tie and ran her fingers through her long locks with slight annoyance.

Firefly smiled. "The story of this headband is an old one. It was from a long time ago, back when I was still part of the Glamoth Iron Cavalry…"

Her tone was relaxed as she mentioned the name representing her past, as if there was no lingering sorrow.

As she unfastened her dress, she turned to Lin Shuang with a smile. "By the way, have you heard of the Glamoth Cavalry?"

"A little. I know some things about the Republic of Glamoth."

"Then this will be easier to explain." Firefly set her dress aside, revealing her figure clad only in underwear.

She had a slender build, neither particularly curvy nor visibly muscular. Her arms, legs, and waist were soft, without pronounced muscle definition.

By comparison, Lin Shuang's body had more noticeable strength and sharper lines.

Lin Shuang also removed her clothes and handed Firefly a bath towel, listening as the girl recounted how she came to own the headband.

From Firefly's lips, that time seemed peaceful, almost beautiful.

After the war, during a short period when they had lost contact with their superiors, she and a few other clone comrades had shared a moment of stolen freedom.

The Iron Cavalry wasn't as cold as outsiders assumed—each soldier had their own unique personality.

If not for the fact that Firefly was the only one left from the Glamoth Iron Cavalry, it would have sounded like a heartwarming memory.

But that knowledge weighed on Lin Shuang, preventing her from seeing it as anything but bittersweet.

"Kafka made me some spare headbands later, but this one is sturdy. Even when it gets worn, I can fix it easily, so I still prefer this one."

Firefly folded the headband carefully and placed it beside the sink.

Then she smiled at Lin Shuang, pressed the bath towel against her chest, and stepped into the shower.

The automated system had already filled the bathtub with warm water, and the room's temperature was just right.

Lin Shuang turned on the shower, watching as Firefly curiously examined the various bottles lined up nearby.

She even leaned in, sniffing each one to distinguish their scents.

Lin Shuang chuckled at the sight of Firefly's long, wet hair clinging to her back. Reaching over, she gathered the strands in her hands.

Firefly, sensing the movement, turned around. Seeing Lin Shuang holding her hair, she smiled. "Thanks. Which one is the shampoo?"

"This one."

Lin Shuang stepped closer, narrowing the distance between them, their bodies inevitably brushing against each other. It would be a lie to say she wasn't affected, but her concern for Firefly outweighed any stray thoughts.

Turning off the shower, she poured shampoo into her palm and lathered it into Firefly's hair.

"Just rub it in like this, add some water, and massage your scalp. It's simple."

"Oh… let me try."

With white foam covering her long locks, Firefly closed her eyes and followed Lin Shuang's instructions, rubbing at her scalp. "It smells nice, just like you, Lin Shuang."

The way she said it was unexpectedly cute, making Lin Shuang chuckle. "That's because I use this shampoo all the time. Of course, we smell the same."

"Hehe."

Firefly's hair was naturally clean, so one wash was enough. Soon, Lin Shuang wrapped her damp hair in a towel, and the two sank into the spacious bathtub together.

"Mmm… so this is a bath?" Firefly murmured, fully relaxed, her shoulder leaning against Lin Shuang's arm.

Lin Shuang said nothing, simply observing as Firefly's chest rose above the water's surface due to the buoyancy. Internally, she sighed—definitely bigger than mine.

At that moment, Firefly lazily called her name, her voice soft and teasing. "Lin Shuang~"

The tone, light and sweet, sent a shiver through Lin Shuang's heart. "Hm?"

She stretched her limbs, letting her mind drift in the warm water.

"I already picked the location for our next date. There's a planet known for its island resorts. The sunrise there is breathtaking, and the underwater scenery is supposedly amazing. Interested?"

Lin Shuang hadn't expected Firefly to bring up their next date so soon.

She thought the girl would keep it a surprise until departure.

Tilting her head, she studied Firefly's profile.

"Of course I want to go. But why tell me now? I thought you wanted it to be a surprise."

Firefly smiled sheepishly, scratching her cheek.

"I did, at first. But then I thought… what if I take you all the way there and you don't like it? So I figured it's better to ask."

She paused, then raised a finger, as if making an important announcement.

"Even though I told you the plan, you're not allowed to look up pictures of the place! The scenery should be a surprise!"

Lin Shuang hadn't planned to search for it, but now that Firefly had emphasized it so much… wasn't that an open invitation to be curious?
