Chapter 5: Some Special Products from an Old Traditional Doctor
"Where's my sister? Where's my—my you know what?!"
"Give it back to me! What kind of messed-up body did you restore?!"
Kiana's hair fell like a madwoman's, she didn't even care about her clothing situation.
She searched frantically but couldn't find the parts that had been optimized away.
"You can create them yourself. If you understand human physiology well enough, you could even design a beautiful butterfly for yourself."
No. 03 explained calmly.
"Butterfly?"
Kiana's thoughts spun in confusion. She didn't understand what a butterfly was.
"What's a butterfly?" she asked hesitantly.
"That..." No. 03 didn't know why, but what he had said just now had been translated directly into 'butterfly.'
He studied her more closely. She didn't seem like she'd been wandering long. Could it be that wanderers from the primitive era were truly this innocent?
Then again, he wasn't very familiar with this era either.
It was like how a modern person could talk eloquently about ideas, history, and technological development, but when it came to talking about the income, family situation, and how people without parents lived in a certain area in history, it was a genuine struggle.
In No. 03's eyes, Kiana was in a similar state.
"I... I... I'm not clean anymore... Mama!"
She yelled and was about to start crying, successfully activating a new tear gland system, but she couldn't control it, and tears kept spurting out as if she was being juiced.
"Don't you not have a mother?"
"Oh, right, Daddy—ah!!" Kiana was going to call out to someone else, but after two shouts, she suddenly remembered that she used to take care of her dad when she was eight years old.
She recalled carefully, and it seemed like her dad wasn't of much use.
This filled Kiana's young heart with suspicion, and her cries gradually subsided.
Is calling out to dad really useful?
Of course not!
If it was useful, would she have been ambushed by a future eldritch horror, and turned into someone who lost her sister and her you know what?
In between all that, she also experienced the joy of being a poop-sludge that traversed the sewers.
What could two men and women without lower bodies do?
Even doing an Adam and Eve performance wouldn't seem to work.
"Sigh... never mind... never mind..."
A weary expression appeared on the girl's face. Her face quickly turned pale and even developed signs of aging.
Clearly, Kiana had mastered using the future person's body to create emoji faces.
Such an excellent body is only being used to do this?
No. 03 closed his eyes. He didn't want to see such a foolish kindred.
He decided to temporarily classify this kindred as a semi-primitive human and simply call her "human-like."
"Oh, right, don't you have a name?"
After waking up a bit, Kiana vaguely remembered that she seemed to have found something from the other party's memory.
That memory was short but heavy, seemingly trying to destroy something.
She had almost forgotten it, only knowing that the guy in front of her was called No. 03.
He's so pitiful, isn't he just a tool of future people? He's just like an experimental clone.
Kiana sighed. Humanity of the future was really hopeless.
She didn't expect humanity of 130,000 years from now to be like this, it's just too terrible.
"The root of human consciousness is madness and chaos. If they abandon this overall numbering as an anchor for self, then these people will constantly seek 'betrayal'. Until they head towards a collective chaos as a form of destruction."
No. 03 explained, "What is the difference between your fragmented, self-centered intelligent society and a pack of stray dogs in the city? Think about it—why don't you just call yourself No. 04 alongside me, and let go of this outdated social structure inherited from your old world?"
"Shut up! I don't want to listen anymore!"
Kiana shook her head, wanting to forget all these words.
She was actually being persuaded by him.
"A name is just a tool to prove yourself. It will constantly remind you of your own divisive nature. Discard this tool and you can truly return to nature and enjoy yourself. Come, join me in ushering in a digitized age of individuality."
No. 03 was quite proud. He was already looking forward to giving more meaning to his number.
"03, uh..." Kiana frowned slightly, her mind racing for an alternative. "Zero three... Null Drei..." She murmured the German pronunciation, testing how it felt. Something about calling him a number felt... cold. Impersonal.
After a moment of thought, she nodded to herself. "How about... Noldrei? It still carries the meaning of your number, but it feels more like a real name. Something unique to you."
Noldrei, hearing his name, felt a bit strange and said, "Using the differences in languages to create a unique name in human society, but in German, that should also translate to 03."
He didn't care about his name, and instead said, "These are all small matters. Actually, if you want to rebuild your 'Holy Grail' and 'Evangelist', you can use your biological knowledge to reproduce them."
"Really?!"
Kiana didn't care about his name anymore, she just wanted to rebuild her original body.
Since things were already like this, she couldn't beat him anyway. And he didn't seem to want to control her, so it's best to find a way to keep her original form first.
Noldrei began his teaching career.
In fact, Kiana learned very quickly. Even though she was still using a very outdated biological CPU, her learning speed was directly imprinted into her body memory due to this body.
A simple example would be: Although I don't know how to program software, I know how to use it.
Kiana also successfully entered into this state, and quickly grasped how to create organs using her own abilities.
The girl was happily holding her newly created "Holy Grail."
Since there was still an organic system connecting it to her hand, this "Holy Grail" could even feel the corresponding physical sensations.
Noldrei always thought she was an idiot, but didn't have concrete evidence. After all, to him, everyone in this era was pretty much an idiot.
But now, he was pretty sure that the matriarchal primitive in front of him was indeed an idiot.
"I asked you to try to reproduce your reproductive system, but that should be generated inside your body. What are you doing generating it on your palm and connecting it there?"
It wasn't an illusion, Noldrei clearly saw the "Holy Grail" flinch.
It was as if, at this moment, it realized that it had grown in the wrong place.
"Uh, this... I..."
Her expression changed from joy at creation to a deathly pale shock, and the color drained from her body as well.
"Can I move it to where it's supposed to be?"
Kiana looked at him expectantly, eager to get the answer she wanted.
Noldrei sighed. He finally understood what "a helpless sigh" was from this matriarchal primitive.
As the only kindred in this world, he took the "Holy Grail" from her hand.
And swallowed it whole.
