It all started when the envoy from Cloud Shinobi Village arrived in Konoha, and Sarutobi Hiruzen personally hosted them. Many of Konoha's prominent clans attended, including the Hyuga clan. Hiashi, having no sons, brought along his eldest daughter, Hinata, as part of her education and to expose her to important matters.
However, what no one expected was the audacity of the Cloud Shinobi Village. Under the cover of the event, they managed to kidnap Hinata as she was leaving the party. They cleverly used a secret technique to disguise one of their own as Hinata, fooling everyone for a while.
Hiashi's face turned pale as he processed this revelation. He muttered angrily to himself, "The Hinata in the room… was a Cloud Shinobi in disguise?"
This discovery was a crushing blow to Hiashi's pride. As a member of the esteemed Hyuga clan, known for their Byakugan, the fact that his own daughter had been kidnapped under his nose was a disgrace he could barely endure. His anger flared, and he immediately prepared to take matters into his own hands by killing the imposter Cloud Shinobi who dared to infiltrate his clan.
But before he could act, Naruto interrupted him, speaking calmly but firmly. "If I were you, I wouldn't do that."
Hiashi turned to face Naruto, his voice laced with fury. "Uzumaki Naruto, you saved Hinata, and for that, my clan owes you a debt of gratitude. But this is a Hyuga matter. You would do well not to interfere."
Hiashi, despite Naruto's youth, didn't underestimate him. After all, Naruto had managed to save Hinata from Cloud Shinobi, something that no ordinary child could accomplish. He suspected Naruto had tapped into the power of the Nine Tails. However, the Hyuga clan had strict rules, especially regarding marriage outside the clan, and Hiashi couldn't afford to let those rules slide, even if Naruto was a hero in the making.
Hiashi turned to leave, intent on dealing with the imposter, but Naruto's next words stopped him in his tracks: "If you don't want more deaths in your family, you should reconsider."
Hiashi froze, his body rigid with shock. His mind raced back to a memory he'd rather forget.
Seeing Hiashi's hesitation, Naruto added, "You remember what happened a few years ago, don't you?"
Hiashi's eyes widened. How could Naruto know about that incident? Hiashi thought, his shock evident on his usually composed face.
Naruto continued, his voice even but full of gravity. "Sarutobi Hiruzen is no longer the strong leader he once was. If you don't present him with undeniable proof, he'll leave the matter in your hands to deal with alone. He won't want to stir trouble with Cloud Shinobi Village or the Land of Lightning."
Hiashi's mind churned as Naruto's words sank in. The truth was bitter. Sarutobi Hiruzen had become more cautious, almost fearful of conflict, especially with other villages. Hiashi himself had already suffered from this reluctance once before, when the price for peace with Cloud Shinobi Village had been his younger brother Hizashi's life.
The memory stung Hiashi deeply. Back then, Sarutobi Hiruzen had refused to confront the Cloud Shinobi directly, leaving Hiashi to deal with the situation internally. Hizashi had chosen to sacrifice himself to protect the clan, and that loss had weighed on Hiashi ever since. The thought of repeating that tragedy terrified him.
Taking a deep breath, Hiashi spoke, his voice calmer but still firm. "You've given me much to think about, Naruto. Thank you for your insight."
With a nod, Hiashi took a seat, his earlier impulsiveness replaced by a more calculating demeanor. After a moment, he said, "We'll capture the Cloud Shinobi and have the Yamanaka clan examine his memories. Once we have the evidence, we'll present it to the village."
Naruto listened but then shook his head. "That plan's not enough. If you make this public, it'll provoke Sarutobi Hiruzen. He won't take kindly to being embarrassed like that, and he'll likely turn his policies against your clan. You'll have your justice, but at a high price."
Hiashi clenched his fists in frustration but knew Naruto was right. He muttered under his breath, "When leaders grow old, they should step aside. Instead, Hiruzen clings to power while others suffer."
Naruto didn't respond to Hiashi's open disdain for the Hokage. Instead, he brought the conversation back to the task at hand. "For now, focus on controlling the Cloud Shinobi impostor. Make sure he doesn't cause any more trouble."
Just as Naruto spoke, a commotion erupted behind them. Several Hyuga clan members had already captured the Cloud Shinobi who had been disguised as Hinata, and they dragged the imposter into the room, tied up and unable to move.
The imposter stared up at Hiashi defiantly, a mocking smile on his lips. "It's pointless for you to act tough. Your Hokage is weak. He's no hero anymore, just a coward. He won't risk a conflict with Cloud Shinobi Village. If you make a scene, we'll demand reparations from your Hyuga clan, and the matter will be settled in our favor."
The imposter's arrogance only fueled Hiashi's rage. His eyes narrowed, and his body tensed as though he might strike at any moment. The murderous intent radiating from him was palpable, causing the air in the room to grow heavy with tension.
But even as Hiashi seethed, Naruto maintained his composure. Suddenly, with a flicker of movement, Naruto made a quick, almost unnoticeable hand gesture.
A sharp noise cut through the air, followed by the sound of something striking the Cloud Shinobi impostor.
The room fell silent. All eyes were on Naruto as he lowered his hand, the kunai now lodged in the imposter's leg, just deep enough to immobilize him but not kill him.
Naruto's voice was calm as he said, "That was to prevent him from committing suicide. We'll need him alive for his memories."
The Hyuga members and Hiashi stared at Naruto in surprise, but none of them objected. Naruto had a clear understanding of the situation, and his actions were both swift and necessary.
Hiashi, his anger now tempered by Naruto's quick thinking, nodded. "Thank you, Naruto. We'll take it from here."
With the Cloud Shinobi imposter securely under control, the Hyuga clan could now proceed with uncovering the full extent of Cloud Shinobi Village's scheme. And this time, with hard evidence, even Sarutobi Hiruzen wouldn't be able to brush the matter aside.
Naruto stood by, watching as the situation was brought under control. He glanced at Hinata, who had remained silent throughout the ordeal. Her wide, trusting eyes met his, and for a moment, Naruto smiled, knowing that he had not only helped her but had also prevented a much larger conflict from spiraling out of control.
The Hyuga clan had their justice, and thanks to Naruto's intervention, Konoha was spared another unnecessary tragedy.
