Naruto's system issued him a mission: gain Nine-Tails' approval. However, strengthening the seal wasn't prohibited, so Naruto decided to take advantage of the fox's distracted state. When Nine-Tails pulled back slightly, Naruto took the opportunity to approach the giant iron gate of his inner seal. He placed his hand on the Eight Sign Seal.

Since the Eight Sign Seal combined two Four Sign Seals, it created an extremely powerful binding. With Naruto's modifications, Nine-Tails felt the full impact of the renewed seal. The beast's movement was restricted, and even standing took considerable effort. Nine-Tails was shocked to realize Naruto was capable of using such an advanced sealing technique.

"Kid! Let's... talk this out. Don't mess with the seal!" Nine-Tails protested. "You fiddle with it too much, and it could break!"

Nine-Tails clearly remembered the agonizing days when the seal was at full strength, leaving him completely immobilized, unable to move or speak. After years of waiting, he'd finally regained partial freedom, but Naruto was on the verge of reversing that.

Ignoring Nine-Tails' outburst, Naruto took a step back from the gate, amused by the fox's uneasiness. "I thought you'd be a bit braver, Kurama. But maybe you're just as stubborn as you are proud," Naruto said, a grin breaking across his face.

Nine-Tails sneered. "A friend of the tailed beasts? You just strengthened my prison, and now you call yourself my friend?"

Naruto tried reasoning with him. "If I loosen the seal, wouldn't that make things better for you? We might even become friends that way."

Nine-Tails' eyes narrowed, feeling a mixture of resentment and curiosity. He was aware of the boy's loneliness, his desperate need for companionship. Still, he couldn't believe that Naruto, a mere child, would try befriending a monster like him. Sensing Nine-Tails' resistance, Naruto sighed, pretending to give up. "Fine… I guess I'll leave, then."

"What?" Nine-Tails' voice rose, now laced with irritation. "Get back here! Don't just leave!"

Naruto paused, glancing back at Nine-Tails with an innocent expression. Nine-Tails suddenly felt conflicted. Part of him found the kid's naivety laughable. Yet he also sensed a sincerity in Naruto that tugged at him.

After an awkward silence, Nine-Tails spoke up. "Untie me," he grumbled, barely able to muster the words. "Then… maybe we'll be... friends." The word felt foreign on Nine-Tails' tongue, a small surrender in hopes of avoiding a return to total captivity.

Naruto's face brightened. "Alright!" he agreed eagerly, loosening part of the seal to give Nine-Tails some freedom. As the remaining strength of the Fourth Hokage's Eight Sign Seal kept Nine-Tails secure, Naruto left the area feeling satisfied.

Nine-Tails watched him go, a complicated look in his eyes. The boy… actually trusted him, even though he was the very reason for Naruto's isolation. Still, he wasn't used to feeling gratitude or indebtedness to anyone, especially a human.

By morning, Naruto awoke in his room, wondering if last night had been a dream. A quick glance at his system panel proved otherwise:

The thought of Nine-Tails' haughty demeanor amused him. As Naruto had no immediate tasks, he decided to use his newly acquired simulation.

Naruto was thrilled. "Not bad! But who to pick... that's the tough part."

After a quick mental process of elimination, Naruto dismissed the first two options. He wasn't familiar with Nawaki's abilities, so he ruled him out. While Hyuga Neji was talented, Naruto felt Izuna and Sakumo offered greater potential, making them his top two choices.

The simulation was just beginning, and Naruto couldn't help but feel excited for the possibilities it held.
