Harry Potter: Wizards Supersmacy

Chapter 9: Chapter -9 Facing the Troll.

Chapter -9.

So, let's talk about the Occlumency Spell! Think of it like building a maze in your mind. It helps you keep your true thoughts hidden while letting you show others a different version of yourself. This is super handy when dealing with the Legilimency Spell, as it gives you a way to manage your thoughts and feelings, almost like creating a persona that's entirely under your control.

You can tuck away your real emotions and put on a show of fake ones, kind of like a controlled version of schizophrenia. The best part? No one can see through your act because, in a way, those false thoughts feel real to you!

Plus, it's a solid defensive spell that can help protect against mental attacks. For instance, it can defend against the Obliviate Spell, which means it only wipes out your surface-level memories. If you really master it, it can even offer some protection against the Avada Kedavra curse!

But let's be real—getting to that level takes a lot of practice, and not many people can pull it off.

The reason the Unforgivable Curses are called "unforgivable" isn't just because there's no counter-curse; it's also because very few can truly resist their power.

Brian started to see why this spell was categorized separately in the system instead of being lumped in with other Dark Arts defenses. He was also curious about the Legilimency Spell, which has some similarities.

Back to the Occlumency Spell—after practicing for several weeks, Brian was pleasantly surprised to find he was making progress! He had braced himself for a long learning curve, especially since Harry took quite a while to master it with Snape's help, facing many challenges along the way.

Maybe Brian had been shutting off his emotions for so long that it felt natural to him, like he was just an observer in his own life.

As Halloween Eve rolled around, things were looking good. In Charms class that day, they learned the Levitation Charm, and Professor Flitwick gave Brian a big shout-out for mastering it early and using it to help Neville during flying lessons.

At the Halloween feast, just before Professor Quirrell could rush in to warn everyone about the troll in the girls' bathroom, he bolted from his seat and dashed toward the bathroom. Malfoy thought he was losing it!

Brian was eager to take on the troll, hoping it would earn him some witness points. Honestly, taking down a troll isn't too tough if you're prepared.

To get ready, he had brewed a Draught of Living Death, a super strong sleeping potion. It took him a while to get it right, especially since his dad sent him potion supplies without asking what he needed them for.

He poured the potion over a big chunk of raw beef he snagged from the house-elves in the kitchen. He didn't hold back and used the whole potion—enough to put a dragon to sleep!

Brian hurried to the girls' bathroom and was hit by a terrible smell. There was the troll, with its back turned, while Professor Quirrell was sprinting away in a panic.

Once Quirrell disappeared around the corner, Brian used the Levitation Charm to float the beef in front of the troll and then dashed into the girls' bathroom, locking the door behind him.

The potion needed a bit of time to kick in, and that was enough time for the troll to cause some serious chaos.

A gentleman doesn't stand under a dangerous wall; he knows better than to take risks.

Brian pressed his ear against the door and heard the troll munching away outside.

Trolls are pretty dim-witted, so it wouldn't even think twice about the beef just appearing out of nowhere.

The chewing stopped, and heavy footsteps echoed outside. It seemed the potion still needed a little more time to work its magic.

Suddenly, he heard soft sobbing from one of the stalls. Brian paused and called out gently, "Hermione?"

The crying stopped, followed by some rustling sounds.

A moment later, Hermione peeked out, her hair a mess and her eyes red and puffy. She looked surprised and said, "Brian, what are you doing here? This is the girls' restroom!" Her voice rose, and her brows furrowed like she was about to scold him.

"Shh—" Brian put a finger to his lips, glanced at the door, and whispered, "You won't believe this, but there's a giant outside!"

"Oh, come on, that's a bit far-fetched." Hermione stepped out, crossing her arms with a skeptical look. "You could at least come up with a better excuse!"

"Well, at least you seem to be feeling better now, right?" Brian smiled. "That's more like you."

Hermione's cheeks turned pink, and with a huff, she was about to open the door to leave.

"Wait! I'm not joking. There really is a giant out there," Brian insisted.

As he spoke, he pressed his ear against the door again. The footsteps had stopped, and now there was a loud snoring sound coming from outside.

"Okay, it's safe now. Let's go!" He opened the door and saw the giant fast asleep, a huge wooden club lying nearby.

"Oh my gosh, this can't be real. I mean, this is Hogwarts!" Hermione gasped, covering her mouth in disbelief.

"We need to hurry; the professors are coming, and I don't want to get caught!" Brian urged, pulling Hermione along.

All the while, Hermione was still in shock, saying, "How is this happening? Brian, this is Hogwarts…" She had always thought of it as the safest place in the magical world, thanks to all the books she read.

"Hermione, the magical world isn't all sunshine and rainbows, and Hogwarts isn't as safe as you think," Brian said, trying to be realistic.

"But Dumbledore…" Hermione started.

"Look, Dumbledore is old. You can't expect him to be perfect all the time," Brian replied.

As they talked, they spotted a chaotic crowd ahead, and naturally, they got separated. Hermione squeezed into the Gryffindor group.

Suddenly, Brian heard a "ding" in his mind and focused on the message.

[Modify the giant incident, Witness Points +0]

He rubbed his eyes, wondering if he had misread the points.

At that moment, he had 1.7 witness points, and it didn't budge an inch.

"Okay, so it's a witness point, not a plot change," Brian sighed, rubbing his temples, feeling a bit overwhelmed.

This meant he couldn't just swoop in and save the day; he had to be part of the story while keeping it on track.

But the tricky part was that his role made it hard to be close to Harry Potter. He'd probably be under a lot of scrutiny from him.

Unless he learned the Disillusionment Charm or something, he'd be stuck following Harry around like a shadow.

But that seemed pretty unrealistic.

"No, maybe there are other ways," Brian thought.

He found an empty classroom, sat down, and pulled out a piece of parchment, jotting down some notes:

[Time, Place, Characters]

[Beginning, Process, Ending]

He tapped the quill against his lips, thinking about what went wrong and which parts were most important.

"From what I've seen, the process can change without affecting the outcome. So, time and place shouldn't be too strict either."

He crossed out time, place, and process.

"Then the beginning doesn't seem crucial either." He crossed that out too.

That left him with just characters and ending.

"Based on this, the ending is that the giant is knocked out, which is correct," Brian analyzed. "So, the issue must be with the characters?"

The biggest problem this time might be that Harry Potter and Ron Weasley weren't around. They should have been the ones witnessing this event.

Maybe the system wanted him to see "the savior team taking down a giant," not just "someone taking down a giant."

"But what if I could change it to 'taking down a giant with the savior team'? I could take the lead!"

He circled "characters" and "ending," tapping his quill on the paper. Then, he added the word "actors" next to characters.

Rolling up the parchment, Brian gazed out at the deep lake and thought, "If I'm right, I can steer these events. As long as the actors are there, I can direct or even join in myself."

"Of course, this is all based on a guess that needs to be tested."

"This way, I won't have to stress about missing out on the big moments."

"But it's going to be a tough road ahead." Brian's eyes dimmed, and he felt a wave of gloom wash over him.
