Chapter 24: 24. Naughty Kid, Just Give Him A Beating
Enough!"
Malfoy glared at Ivan. "Who are you? Ambrosius? I've never heard of that wizard family in England!"
Ignoring Malfoy, Ivan turned to Hermione and asked her to join Harry in his compartment.
Harry was more than happy to let him in.
He could tell Ivan was friendly.
As for Hermione, she had just helped Harry fix his old glasses, leaving him with a great first impression of her.
"See you later, Harry."
Hermione held her cat, Yumi, and sat across from Harry and Ron. Yumi seemed to sense something and stared intently at Ron's pet mouse, Banban.
"Hey, watch your cat!"
Ron quickly shielded Banban, worried Yumi might pounce on his mouse and eat it.
"Yumi!"
Ivan was aware of Banban's true nature.
Yumi's reaction was probably similar to that of Crookshanks from the original story; her cat lineage made her suspicious of Pettigrew, who wasn't a good character.
However, since Crookshanks was left with Neville, it was up to Yumi to keep an eye on Banban.
"Meow~~"
Yumi didn't know what was up with Scabbers.
She quietly warned her owner that something was wrong with the mouse and that she should be cautious.
"Don't worry about it, Yumi."
Ivan didn't understand cat language, but his message was clear: he was telling her not to act too quickly.
"Enough!!"
Suddenly, Malfoy shouted angrily from outside the door.
Feeling ignored by Ivan and pushed aside by Harry, Malfoy had never felt so humiliated.
"Is this your response, Harry Potter?"
Malfoy sneered, "Weasley's poor, two mudbloods—you're just like your stupid parents. Sooner or later, you'll follow their path!"
Harry felt a rush of anger at the unfair personal attack that included his parents.
He lunged forward, but Malfoy's friends, Goyle and Crabbe, quickly stepped in to block him.
Ron saw this and prepared to help Harry with Scabbers.
"Disappointing."
Ivan couldn't watch anymore. He waved his hand at Goyle and Crabbe.
In an instant, the two were lifted by an unseen force and, to Malfoy's horror, flew backward, tumbling out of the carriage along with him.
"Ah!"
"Hey!"
"Get off me, you idiot!"
"Get up!"
The three of them landed in a heap, with Malfoy at the bottom. The weight of Goyle and Crabbe almost crushed him.
"This..."
Harry and Ron exchanged confused glances, clearly not understanding what had just happened.
"You need to learn to respect others," Ivan said, looking sternly at Malfoy. He lifted his hand, and the three boys screamed as they floated up into the air. "And I don't want to hear that word again!"
"Remember?"
Ivan's voice was calm but felt threatening to Malfoy and his friends, making them tremble.
With a flick of his wrist, Ivan released his magic, and the three boys fell back to the ground, stumbling awkwardly.
Ivan shook his head in disappointment, snapped his fingers, and closed the compartment door before the older students arrived.
"....."
Meanwhile, Harry and Ron stood there, dumbfounded, as the door shut automatically in front of them.
With a loud "bang," they snapped back to reality and turned to look at Ivan, who remained calm.
"How did you do that?"
Ron sat back in his seat, shaking a little. "Was that magic?"
Even though he wasn't the target, Ron felt intimidated by Ivan.
He dared not look directly at him, sitting timidly in the corner with Banban in his arms, worried that Ivan might be unhappy and hurt his mouse.
"What a silly question!"
Hermione covered her face with her hands. She didn't want to admit that she had a good impression of Ron. Instead, she looked at him with disdain, like a top student looking down on a struggling student. "Of course, it's magic!"
"Wow."
Harry gazed at Ivan in admiration and said sincerely, "You're amazing. Can I call you Ivan?"
"Of course," Ivan replied with a smile. "I just used a levitation charm and a repulsion charm. They're not that special; you can learn them in your first year."
As he spoke, Ivan casually gathered the snacks that had fallen on the floor and made them float back to rest between Harry and Ron.
"Awesome!"
Ronald's praise made Hermione happy. She complimented him openly, saying, "Ivan is the best young wizard I've ever seen!"
"Ivan, don't you need a wand to perform magic?"
Unlike Ron, Harry noticed something important.
He realized that Ivan hadn't used his wand at all; he had just waved his hand to perform the magic.
"Wandless magic!"
Ron exclaimed, "You can actually cast spells without a wand?! What is that?"
Since Harry was new to the wizarding world, he didn't know how impressive wandless magic was.
It wasn't until Hermione proudly explained how difficult this skill was that Harry understood.
This only increased Harry's admiration for Ivan. "Not burdened by fame." Ivan thought to himself. "As expected of a fairy tale hero—the princess is kind and beautiful, and the knight is just and loyal." Ivan wasn't trying to belittle Harry; he was simply impressed by Harry's character.
If anyone else suddenly inherited billions from an orphan, who could say they'd do better than Harry? He had enough money and fame.
Yet he remained grounded, clearly aware of his own limitations.
He is Harry, just Harry.
He isn't powerful at all, and he doesn't even know magic.
Instead of getting lost in illusions, Harry wants to better himself and prove his worth. "Well, it's not as bad as Hermione made it sound."
Ivan patted Hermione's head and straightened her messy hair, making her blush.
"Like Hermione, I come from the Muggle world."
As Ivan shared his background, Hermione and Harry were left puzzled by Malfoy's earlier behavior.
They asked Ivan what was going on with Malfoy and why he acted so arrogantly.
"I've heard about his family," Ron said gloomily. "They were among the first to return after the mysterious man vanished."
